So what is your "biggest mistake?"

This is the magical question to Maria Venus Raj, Philippine representative to the 2010 Miss Universe in Las Vegas, Nevada, that reaped mixed reactions from Filipinos. Her answer is quite disturbing since every human being in this planet has its own "biggest mistake" of course.
I watched the live telecast and I was every hopeful she could really make it to the top, but when I heard her disastrous answer, I cringed, how could somebody lived in this planet without making any mistake? But of course I understood, because it's not easy to stand in front of the crowd, much more the prestigious Miss Universe crowd.
so my question right now (just to share the predicament of Venus.lol!) is, what is your biggest mistake in life?do you have any?or just like Venus, none?

There is no human on earth that has never made a mistake! Of course some are bigger than others! My biggest mistake was travelling overseas with a man who did not treat me well, allowing him to disrespect me, cheat on me and spend my money! I got rid of him a long time ago and have not repeated that mistake but I made others of course!

Oh he's real alright! I haven't seen him for many years; he was an opportunist and I was naive...Lesson learnt, never repeated...

It was a very senseless answer by Venus but maybe she really doesn't have any mistakes..let's just be proud of her. As for me I could have answered, My biggest mistake ever is studying a course that was never my first choice. But I couldn't turn back time now and turn things right. I already got my degree and license so maybe God has really plans for me. I already learned to love my profession and the work that I will be working into but I guess I really have to work more harder to get the job i really needed.

I agree gaiza12. I know that Miss. Raj is only 22. I thought
however, that she would have said something about school, or that maybe
she didn[t save enough.
Young people make mistakes too. Maybe she was nervous.
Nontheless, she did come in 4th, and she is beautiful.

that is right in front of so many audience and in front of the whole world, she should be nervous.. though venus' answer is not clear we can understand what she wants to explain or say but because of nervousness she used incorrect words.. yet we should be proud of her coz among 80+ candidate she was one of the top 5.. and the important is she enjoyed the contest.

My biggest mistake in life was when I'm younger and I remember answering back to my parents. Now that I am older and I'm starting my own family, all they've said to me are true, all their advices are the best. I've learned from my mistakes that parents knows what's best and would never ever want to see us fall down.

That's right, parents are always making effort to make our lives wonderful that's why we should not disobey them. Sometimes we cannot appreciate it when we are still young because we wanted freedom and do things in our own way but later in life we will realize that they are right!

Well of course I have a biggest mistake in my life. However, I have to admit that in my life, it has turned out that my biggest mistake in my life was also the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. That is the fact that I got pregnant before I was married. My daughter was nineteen months old before my husband and I got married, but all in all it was worth it because of the fact that having her made me grow a lot as a person.

My biggest mistake? well where do you want me to begin lol? i would have to say the biggest mistake i have made was not going to college right after i graduated highschool. its been years later and i still havent chose a carreer option. instead ive been going through really crappy low paying jobs. if i went to college i could atleast throw that on my resume and greatly increase my chances in picking up any job! once you hold off on school it really is hard to get back into the swing of things i havent been in a classroom in ages.. but i plan to go back this year and that is my biggest mistake to date!

I fully understand your predicament. I have been advising my daughter about this. Although she is currently enrolled in a university, I always tell her that the first thing that a would-be employer will look in your resume is your qualification, followed by work experience. All the rest will follow.

Hello diablo24life,
Thanks for your response, don't worry you'll get on with it, it's never too late to go back to school, you cannot turn back the time but you can correct your mistake anytime.
@oplopez,
It's very true, it's very difficult to look for a job right now if you have no college diploma. Hope your daughter will listen to you. Good luck!

I've done several mistakes already in my life. Of course, these things are cannot be avoided. We're imperfect that's why we commit mistakes in life. I think I don't have any BIGGEST mistake as of right now. :) Take note: BIGGEST. But I have several mistakes already, it's just that I don't have something which is the "MOST."
Considering that I am still a student, maybe mistakes like lying to my parents, laziness in studies, and the likes are my mistakes. HAHA. Funny but that's the truth ;)

I’m very interested to know what was her answer? Did she say that she thinks she made no mistakes at all! But that’s understandable coz during the grooming days before such mega-events, all the participants are taught to be aggressive and show lots of attitude to win the title…so naturally the poor girl thought that admitting to her mistakes would be some sign of weakness!
BTW way I really don’t know what has been my biggest mistake so far…life still has a long way to go and whenever I look back and think of something as a ‘big mistake’ the next moment I think that no matter what, I’ve come out of that mistake, I’ve had something good happening out of that ‘mistake’ and God has really taken care of me, no matter what..so maybe those were not mistakes after all…maybe those incidents were just destined to happen.

I have made several mistake and one of them is just awful and until now I am paying for it big time. I been in a situation where I though I want to give up already because it's so hard for me to carry on with this life. But I always think that God given me this many trials because it's my punishment for my sins.
It's the kind of mistake that no matter how much you tried you can't erase or delete it. It will always forever a part of me. And I always be remembered of how much I am being a fool. I can't say what it was here. Too complicated.

The fact that she said "I can say that there's nothing major, major, I mean, problem that I've done in my life because I'm very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So, thank you so much that I'm here." it only means that she have not yet committed any mistakes that can really harm other people. Who knows I think she is trying to point out that she is not a rebellious woman or she didn't committed any crimes. But it does not mean that she haven't ever committed any mistakes. Of course she knows the question, it is just that very hard to answer for a second when you are in front of people that are watching you around the world. In my case I can't even think what to answer on that biggest mistake because sometimes it is justifiable that I can't even blame myself for doing that. More so I don't want to reveal it just like that.

My biggest mistake was I didn't study very hard when I was a student so now I have a bit difficulties with my work. I realize how important our skills are. I should have studied and should have followed my heart to improved my present condition.

Funny yes.. I think she misunderstood the question, "what is your biggest mistake" is not "what is your greatest problem".. Every person experience mistakes of course because no one is perfect.. People learn from their mistakes and that makes them a greater person in the future.
But still we should be proud of her.

each people have imperfections in life and I believe that everyone of us commit a mistake which help us to know things and a sort of lessons to be learned right? But for me my biggest mistake in life is when my father is dying I go to sleep when I wake up I lost him already and that is very sad and I had feel of regret why I don't there in his side and not to leave him in that case. But prayer help me to cope up that mistake I know that my father is happy in what he is now and still continue watching his family and memories of him will continue linger on me

some people sometime refuse to admit mistakes, its not the right thing but its hard to make them understand that its better for them.
