Promises can hurt us more than a Lie does...

Did it ever came to you that promises are worst than lies? I believe that promises can break my heart more than a lie could..
Because with promises.., you just don't make a someone believe, you also make them hope... Hope for something.. that you're not even sure you can give..
What do you think?

Yes indeed that's so true. Promises are meant to be broken. A lot of people say that but I think promises should be fulfilled without breaking them ever.
Being lied upon is another thing but both give out the same amount of hurt.

i think it's best not to say a single promise.., if you don't intend to keep it at all..right? some people makes promises at the peak of your emotion because the tendency is.., when the emotion fades away.., you will no longer care if you got to keep what you have promised..=(

yes.. you are right.., but if you are a liar.., but doesn't make any false promises.., someone doesn't have to hope or look forward for something.., but if you are liar who promises something yet doesn't have plans of keeping that promise you made.., it will break the person's heart all the more..=)

Indeed. I couldn't agree with you more.
I guess when someone promises something to you, yeah you tend to believe it. And you just have that hope and faith that that person will fulfill as he promised to do so. But when he/she breaks it, not only does it hurt us, it breaks our hearts and just melts down our hope . As for being lied to, we didn't have any clue that someone is lying to us. We only get to know that once the truth is revealed . Same as a broken promise, we get hurt. But when we're being lied to, at least we didn't expect too much as to broken promises.

right.., imagine the disappointment after learning that the promise that person made will just remain as a promise and never be fulfilled.., the pain will too much too bear especially if you had too much hope and looking forward to that promise.., you will be left shattered into pieces...=(

Very tough statement my friend. I never realized it yet and I don't know if it was already happen to me since whenever mad and frustrated I could remember the other situation. You make me realize then before replying your topic.
Well, for me, it depends on the situation. The weight of the case. Promises and lies look like the same. If you can't fulfill the promises you promise then you're lying.
As what I've said it depends on the situation or the subject of the case....

I think it does hurt more. Because it hard to wait and hope for nothing. Especially when this promises came from my love ones. I believe when you love a person ,your heart will always remember what you promise and do everything to fulfill this.

Yeah i think promises are worst than lies too. When someone promises you something you expect them to come through on that promise, you depend on it, Hope for it and believe it. You don't expect to be let down or disappointed. I don't like when people promise things that they know good and well they may not be able to keep.

I can agree that broken promises hurt but being lied to also does hurt. When you break a promise you are telling a lie at the same time. You promise to do stuff but you lie because you really can't fulfill a certain promise. Both acts really hurt and sad think is, there are a lot of people around you tell lies and break promises causing you to hurt more.
