hey obviously LCD monitors are better in many ways.electricity consumption is low, space required is low, easy to handle etc.
But if you are only using it for your work or mails or surfing, then its ok with lcd monitor.
but if you are professional working with photoshop, or other video editing or picture editing then i prefer CRT monitor.Because the output from CRT is original, and if worked on LCD for this then our work will get spoiled. Because the color we saw in the monitor is not original colors.
And if your primary aim is to watch movies then also i prefer you to use the CRT.

For me my friend LCD is better than CRT. First because it saves a lot of space in your table and secondly I could say that LCD saves electricity or consume less electricity than CRT, because my electric bill goes down when I switched to LCD. I think second hand is still ok. because I'm using a second hand LCD monitor too. That's all my friend. I hope that I helped you even in a little way. Good luck.

Depends where you're going to put it.
The LCD is better it works with crystals and alot better to work with. And not as heavily.it' dosen't matter what the inch is.
The CRT is ok for to use as well but it big and heavily the. It's dosn't matter what the the inch is.
Myself I like LCD because it works GREAT...

I like LCD monitor. I too have the same. Its more portable and less electricity consuming. It can be cleaned easily without much stress. Has a elegant look too. If you are going for a second hand monitor I will ask you to go for LCD for the above mentioned facts.

I suggest you buy LCD monitor because it is smaller and it won't use up a big room. And it costs less electricity. And these are advantages than buying a CRT monitor. I will never consider to buy a CRT monitor any more no matter how cheap it is.
I love China

I'd suggest LCDs, not just for energy savings, but for the eye-strain. There's less eyestrain when using a LCD monitor compared to using a CRT.
But whatever you do, avoid getting a LG monitor. When viewing a black screen on a LCD monitor it can make your eyes feel a bit painful.

If you have a limited amount of space on your desk, get an LCD monitor, they take up far less room and that gives you more space to work.

There are advantages and disadvantages for each type:
LCD is lighter and smaller, uses less energy and almost all monitor currently are LCD, but the great disadvantage is the low quality of image, I don't like the image quality in LCDs is very poor.
For CRT the image quality is so superior, but the are heavier, and uses more energy than LCDs.
