My body is not fat, my problem is just on the stomach area. Lately I've noticed that its getting more fat (to my horror o.O), a colleague even joked that I'm pregnant, which is not :D
any tips on how to lose belly fat? I've heard that doing stomach crunches wont help.

I think it is big problem in our life. Fat are start to store in our stomach at first then it spread all over the body. I think you have to run or walking in the morning or evening or when you get time. With the running you have to do sit up to decrease rapid fat from the stomach area.

yup! that's right, even i you do 100 reps crunches 2 times a day still you won't get flatten tummy, as most of us people in the gym say "abs are not made in the gym/workouts they are made in the kitchen", watch what you eat, less carbs and calorie is what you observe into your diet and sweat out 30-45 min.

Yeah, stomach crunches definitely won't help. As much as it stinks, the truth is that you can't spot reduce fat! You can't exercise a certain body part and expect to lose weight there. For example, doing a bunch of leg lifts won't make your thighs any slimmer. You have to do cardio and get your heart rate up to burn the fat. Your body will control where you'll lose the weight, and unfortunately, it's not always in the place you want it to go first.
I have tummy fat I'd like to get rid of, but I know that doing crunches will do nothing for me. Instead, I take 30 to 45 minutes a day and jog on the treadmill. Also, using my computer I do fitness workouts. My personal favorite is the 30 day Shred with Jillian Michaels (from the biggest loser). It's really intense and even though it only takes 20 minutes, if you put the effort into it, you really see the results.
However, exercise alone won't get rid of fat either. You also must change your diet. That doesn't mean you have to completely cut out carbs, fat, or sugar, though. What you need to remember is "everything in moderation." Be conscious of what you eat and how many calories you're taking in each day. Different people of different heights and weights need different amounts of calories to function. A lot of people think that restricting their calories really low will help them lose weight, but all that will do is make your body starve and make it harder to lose weight in the long run.
I know it's difficult, but focus on eating clean, natural foods like whole grains, natural fibers, fruits and vegetables and easing up on processed and fast-foods. Couple the diet change with at least 30 minutes of exercise each day and you'll not only lose weight, but you'll feel great! I started exercising after being a total lazy pants for years and now I can run a mile without stopping and my clothes fit so much better. Good luck! :)
