Hello ersmommy1,
Yes, I agree with here about all the judges show. There are so many. I guess you make more money doing the judging this way than in the courts and less frustrating because the judge controls the power and media is buying into this way of doing the sentencing than the legal and proper way and maybe somewhere it maybe saving tax payers money donw the road maybe.
Thanks and have a great day!
Sincerely Unqiue16

To add to this as well a lot of Judges who are in public television do a lot of other community items besides being a judge. For example, Judge Mathis does a lot of public speaking at colleges.

All of these "judge" shows just make me sick. I've seen them, but only because my Dad use to like to watch them. Thank goodness I don't have to watch that garbage anymore.

What I think is interesting are the commercials during these shows. The commercials are all for personal injury law firms -- acoby and Meyers, the Johnny Cochran Firm, Parker and Waichman [whose spokesperson is Corbin Bernsen from LA Law -- how sad that he has sunk to that level]
And some of these judges!! I am home with a disability and my home attendants have these programs on TV all afternoon, but I can't help watching them from time to time too. And having served jury duty many times, I have to say some of these judges would never act like that in a courtroom. Especially Judge Judy, who calls people "losers", "Stupid" and even "morons". And where do they get these people? Most of them would get thrown out of court!!

I guess people like these shows because the are another form of reality TV somewhat like a tame Jerry Springer show. They are also inexpensive to produce since they don't need to change the sets and don't have to pay the participants much.

They can be entertaining because the people who appear on them are normally very stupid. I saw one where the owner of the Bunny Ranch was suing a client for not paying his bill in full. He got a girl on girl show and thought they were just doing it for fun and not for his benefit. What an idiot.

There are quite a few court tv shows on now which include:
1. Peoples Court
2. Judge Judy
3. Judge Mathis
4. Judge Joe Brown
5. Judge Hatchett
6. Moral Court
7. Divorce Court
8. Judge Maria Lopez
9. Judge Karen
These are just ones that I remember. However I do sometimes like to watch them they are pretty entertaining and some of the cases are good. However I like the first 4 that I mentioned above.

Many of them get old fast. All the judge cases are cases that have been dropped by both parties to go on tv and be decided by that tv judge. For good humor though I do enjoy watching Judge Mathis.

I really like most of the judge shows. There are a few of them I have not watched before but I do like judge Judy and judge Alex. I also watch Judge Mathis and Judge Joe Brown. I like all of those and other too those are the only ones I can think of. I don't get to watch them often, but I do enjoy them. I guess right now it's just what sales - at least it's not made up!

I can remember when People's court came into existence. it was the only show of its kind. Now there are judge shows everywhere. They all seem to be the same to me. My late husband enjoyed the judge tv shows. He got a kick out of Judge Judy because she didn't take any backtalk from anyone and told it as she saw it.

I admit, I watch them quite a bit. I'm on an off term and home in the daytime a lot, so I'll tune into them. A lot of the judge shows are really the same kind of drama over and over, but it's funny sometimes to see people suing each other over silly things. The two judge shows I can't stand are Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown. Judge Judy can be all right at times, but the issue I have is with both of their attitudes. It really seems like they focus less on the law and more on being offensive, most of the time. Judge Joe Brown is downright rude and stereotypical. I never watch him anymore.
