If I didn't have bad luck...

I'd have no luck at all. I know I've said this to some of my friends here. Well, the bad luck isn't that mom died... sad, but she's no longer suffering... no... Tomorrow is the service and... I woke up this morning with a TERRIBLE sore throat. Now, I haven't been sick in over a YEAR! In fact, I really don't think I've been too sick in the last 2 years, tho I have caught little sniffles from the other roommate, but nothing too bad. But this... my throat feels like its swollen, my nose sometimes runs, but while its mostly clear, it is giving me some post nasal drip... My body aches... and I can't miss mom's service! I'm taking stuff, I'll be avoiding hugging people, I'll be taking hand sanitizers... but I'm betting my ears hurt tomorrow and I'll feel even worse! Isn't that the way it goes? Man, I just wish, for once, I'd get a BREAK! How about you? does it seem that all you have is bad luck?

Awwh so sorry about your mother and you are right she is no longer suffering and in a better place. Please keep her memory alive by talking about her continually as it will make you chuckle and tear but this will certainly keep her alive in your heart. I also hope that you feel better soon too, as this is the about the right time that so many of us get sick with the changes in weather. As for me I am loaded with bad luck, as I lost my job early this year, none of us at work got any unemployment benefits. So I though I could get back on my feet so as I continued to search for a new job I lived off my earnings specifically paying bills. So now I lost my house which I have owned for many years, my excellent credit is now the down the drain. And well no more savings left and still looking for work, what else can go wrong in my life. One thing for sure that I have learned this very difficult year is that I am valuing more the people in my life as without my boyfriend and my two kids I would not be still standing today.

That is very rough. Yeah, people around me are about the best thing I have going for me, good friends and supportive family.

I actually was so lucky to go visit my daughter today as I have not seen her in a few months. It dawned us today, oh my 20 full months of this madness. I am still diligently looking for work, (I have gone through hurdles),but it is the people/my children that keep me wishful, eager and reminding me of my full of blessing to keep trying harder. With hopes that my luck will turn for the good someday. Thank you ElicBxn for the BR.

I have periods in life when it feels like that for me too but I have to admit that if I look at the bigger picture I am pretty fortunate. I have a decent roof over my head, a beautiful child, a good husband and gorgeous pets I adore. It’s just that sometimes it feels that if one thing goes wrong ten more will too! I am not particularly lucky when it comes to winning thing such as raffles or lotteries but overall I can’t complain. I’m sorry you are feeling so lousy but it could be due to the fact that you are going through a lot right now and you are probably very run down which has made you prone to a virus. I hope you do get your break and that you feel a little better at least...

I have bad, bad luck. By the age of 31 I'd been made redundant 4 times and with all my jobs I have never chosen to leave the decision has always been made for me. I was once offered 2 jobs in the same week, one was to start in 3 months time and then other within 2 weeks. Yes, I choose that latter and I was made redundant. I once woke up and knew I had to play the lottery that day, but because I didn't have any spare money I choose not to. All day I had visions of lottery tickets and knew that the numbers I always play would be drawn. Guess what, I didn't play and my numbers came up. Whenever I make plans for a night out or anything, something happens so they have to be changed.

that sounds like me, best to just not make too many plans - and if you do... don't let ANYTHING change them That's what I did with my trip in May - the roomie's dad tried to fox them at the last minute, but we all just ignored him

i'm so sorry to hear about your loss and your illness as well... i hope that God will give you the strength that you need to go through this difficult time and hope you will get better as well soon... i have been laid off my job as well recently... but i didn't call that as a bad luck... rather than a process in which God wants to shape me to become a better person... take care and have a nice day...

Aww, again I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom passing. As you said, she's in a better place and not suffering any longer, and I truly believe that. I hope you feel better very soon and get some much needed rest when this is all over. A decongestant will help keep your ears open and make your nose drain, but at least it will come out and not stay in creating more infection. I won't even go into if I only have bad luck right now..this is your time to talk about your problems, not mine. Bless you and get well soon..xx

so sorry hun. sometimes it seems that way for every one. my youngest has 2 babies and its just close to xmas and their car gave out and now he still has no job but is on unemployment and watches the kids while gf works part time. so of course when they bought a starter thinking that was it found out it still dont start without hitting the cellenoid, so it must be that. he had to come to me for money which i really cant afford but when its your kid you dont want them to starve. i really hope you will be better soon.but its like a catch 22, when you are stressed its easier to get sick, and being sick gets you more stressed.

there's a lot of truth in that, nothing like getting stressed to get sick... and of course... well, there we are!

It always seems that you get sick at the worst possible times. You probably got sick because you have been running so much lately and your immune system probably isn't up to par. As if going to your mother's service won't be bad enough. Being sick will just make it worse! Maybe you can take a lot of cold medicines and you won't feel anything. That's what medicine does to me anyway.

Everything happens with and for a reason. Whether it would seem bad or good. But what is important is how you see things. You can always get something positive from everything that happens. Yes even from the "bad" things, because there are always lessons to be learned from those. The most successful people have gone through the "worst" of times also. Are you having bad luck? No, I don't believe in luck at all. But if you keep on thinking of bad luck, you are actually inviting negative energy that will attracts "bad" things. Have faith. :)

I wish I could do or say something to make you feel better. I think of my dad like that. If he didn't have bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all.
