I have several "favorite" mugs. I have one I like to use when I am writing, one for when I feel all bright and cheery, and one for a ho-hum morning. My "bright" one is real colorful while my "writing" mug is brown and serious! And my "ho-hum" one is one I like the shape but not anything too particular about the mug! Do you have different mugs that you use for different moods?

I also like having mugs but one that I always use is the one that have a big smiley face on it's body and always looks happy. I have it for few years now and I also bought one for my partner for him to use when he feels like I also love having mugs that have lots of beautiful painting around it's body. Have a nice day to you.

Yeah, I like mugs and bowls. I think they are just cool! When I see a mug I really like I try to buy it as there are only certain types I really like!

I only have one mug that I use for years now, just a plain simple white porcelain cup where I sip my coffee or tea, but I'll tell you a little secret, way back in the late 80's antique Chinese pottery was very cheap and was always available on any antique shop because they were so abundant, besides they were just common wares and not the prized Imperial wares,I was fortunate to own a few of this pieces , anyway I did not know what entered my mind but I decided to make coffee in one of them ,antique Chinese cups are stemless cause ears were just an addition and came very much later when they exported fine China to England, and I also ate chips on one of the bowls, imagine doing it on a 300 year old relic!, anyway I felt weird afterwards and never did it again, at least I got to try it

Woah, you're the first person I've come across, who has such unique tastes and personalities. I don't have cups like that. For my family, cups will be cups and we just drink from them that's all. As for different moods, that'll be conveyed through the net

I only have one favorite and it is a Starbucks almost porcelain hug cup and it has a plastic cap, so it is shaped exactly like their disposable ones.
So each time I use this favorite cup, it makes me feel like I am having an actual Starbucks coffee.
I especially love this cup as it does keep my coffee warm for a very long while.

i used to collect mugs of different shapes, sizes, designs, and colors. some birthdays i'd get from friends. but after a few years of keeping them, some were asked by family and some got broken. from almost a hundred of them, i think i only have less than thirty left, lol. i'm not much of a coffee-drinker but i used to choose one or two favorite mugs that i would use for hot chocolate or for drinking water. the past days, however, had me thinking of getting a personalized mug with my favorite word phrases and my nickname on it, then i'll start enjoying my old "mug days" again, lol.
starbucks mugs are really quite popular. i know a lot of people who love their starbucks mugs from where i've worked before, lol. now i know there are more in mylot like you, macdolinger! cheers!

I used to collect cups when I traveled. But then when they were broken I would be really disappointed. Now I am not sentimentally attached to very many of the mugs I have, I just like them!

I actually only have one coffee mug/thermos - it's red, and it's my go-to thermos. I need more. it would be fun to have a vareity of cute ones, such as one for every day of the week (instead of having to re-wash my thermos every day) - because goodness knows that I drink enough coffee to have 7 different coffee cups!

Hmmm. I have a few favorites that I like to use when I have coffee at home. I guess my favorite one is a Christmas mug from Starbucks I received as a gift about 2 years ago. I like it because it is pretty and also it is very large - so it means more coffee for me. lol.

lol! I hear that! I like my brown mug - it's a Starbucks mug too. It is large and can hold all the coffee from my little "4 cup" pot! lol!

Your this discussion proves one thing that we all belong to the same planet. Though we live in different parts of the globe we all have some similar foolish things in common. I do have some similar nature though at times I find it very funny and stupid.

I only have 2 favourite mugs, my first one is this big blue mug with a smily face, I drink coffee or tea in this. I like it because it is quite big so you can get a decent amount of coffee in it, not like the smaller cups where you feel like you need another cup of coffee because you can't get much in it!
My other mug is this big white one with pink snowflakes on it, this is my hot chocolate mug! I like the shape of it and it is perfect for putting mini marshmellows in your hot chocolate!

I have noticed that some of the ones from China seem to get VERY HOT HANDLES WHEN YOU HEAT UP COFFEE IN THE MICROWAVE. My wife said that this is because they are stoneware. She may have a point there.

Yeah, I don't like the ones with little bitty handles either! They have to be designed just right if you ask me!

That is a very cute idea! But usually, I just grab whatever the nearest clean mug in my cupboard is. When I want my coffee, I'm not really thinking too much beyond "I want coffee". I do like all of my mugs though. I like ones with pretty colors and patterns, I feel better when I'm drinking out of them.

I am sometimes reduced to what ever is clean at the time as well! lol! That doesn't happen as much as it used to though!lol! Although my three favorites I sometimes have to use which ever is clean and not the one I'm in the mood for!

My wife and I have a coffee mug collection of several types of ceramic coffee mugs, but we don't just use them for coffee. Sometimes we use them for hot chocolate or hot tea, but most of them have some special significance attached to them. We have cups from almost every state that we have been to, together. I usually use the same one, but sometimes I use one from a cross country ski area when I'm hoping for it to snow here in Kansas. It doesn't always work but, it makes me feel like it might.

No, I just have Corelle mugs that come with the set that I use. They are all the same.
During the Holiday season I have 4 Christmas mugs that I use.
I guess i am not too choosy.
My mother, however, has her special mug that she likes to use....and dad uses certain mugs because they have big handles for him to grip on since he has arthritis in his fingers.
