It is in the human nature to forget and some times we feel bad when we forget to do an important work. But many times we are happy that we forgot certain events that caused us unhappiness.Like this we feel bad and good at forgetting. No one can say that he or she does not forget and similarly none can claim to remember everytbing. When we deeply think over this quality of human beings we feel grateful to God for giving us the mixed texture to human mind.If we were to remember everthing we feel very miserable to live and similarly if we forget everthing we cannot lead a life in this world.Overll I feel that forgetfullness is a blessing to human beings. What do you say..?

I don't see how forgetfullness could be a blessing unless it was something tragic that was worth forgetting. Our memories are what we have to look back on as we get older. It would certainly be a curse to not be able to remember the events of our lives.

You want to forget only bad things in life.If God had given you only the faculty of forgetting you will forget not only bad but also good in life.If You want to have only the faculty of remembering you will remember not only good but also bad things in life.So forgetting is also a good quality. We have both the faculties of forgetting and remembering and We are expected to utilise these faculties wisely and not foolishly. Some remember not only good things and also bad things and thereby make their lives miserable...

If it is recurring then it is somewhat a curse. Honestly, being forgetful is normal. Just because our minds like computers needs to reboot. And so, thats the time we forgot something. But, if it is recurring, and it made you forget simple things that you must remember then be aware of it. go to physician and have a check. A lot of studies shows about Alzheimer's disease. And so, it doesn't mean that if we are lucky to forget bad circumstances in our lives, we are free to this disease.

Yes recurring forgetfullness is bad and it is also a mental disease. It is not so for every one.We forget and we also remember.Forgetting is good sometimes but not always.Similarly remembering is good at sometimes and bad at other times. That is why We should be grateful to God for giving us both forgetting and remembering facaulties in our brain..

as you say, it can be both... sometimes it can be a blessing... but sometimes it can be a curse as well... it happened to me many times as well that being forgetful can be a blessing and a curse for me... i believe that everything in this world has its own positive and negative side depending on how you look at it... take care and have a nice day...

I guess when it comes to forgiving someone, forgetting is a blessing. But when it comes to things like, going somewhere and forgetting something because your to forgetful...then that's definitely a curse. Cause it could be a hassle to forget important things.

Therefore you feel that forgetfullness is both a blessing and a curse. Forgive and forget. When any one hurts us or harms us let us forget those things by forgiving. But when it comes to doing important things forgetfull is bad and then it is a curse. In His wisdom God has give us both remembering and forgetting with which we are happy. We are grateful God...

Well started discussion. Ok, sometimes forgetfulness could benefit you and sometimes you'll get into trouble because of it. Let me state a simple example, the bad effects. Your boss hands you an important document, which is a multi-million dollar contract for the company and must not be forgotten. However, after repeated reminders by your boss, on the day of seeing the client, you were in a rush and you left the contract in the train or taxi. Oh god, that's an expensive contract, and you left it there just like this because of your forgetfulness. You boss gets very angry and got you sacked. This is the bad effect.
The good effect now. You were tasked to run an errand for your boss to go to this particular building. Halfway to your destination, you forgot to take your cellphone or something important and went back to take it. Half an hour later, when you reached the building, all you see was fire and bits and pieces of glasses shattered everywhere. That half an hour that was taken to get your cellphone, saved you from imminent danger and then you realised that this was so much of a blessing in disguise! So...forgetfulness can be good and bad. It's more of a kind of fate thing.

your response is an excellent example for my discussion. Therefore forgetfullness was a curse on one occasion and a blessing on another occasion. So we should feel grateful to God for giving us both the faculties in our brain. If He had not given both we all would have been miserable all the time. Some suggest that we should forget bad experience and remember only good things in life.Suppose we don't forget whether good or bad ..our life is imposible to live..

I feel forgetfullness is both a blessing and a curse. Like you said, it is good to forget the things that bring us pain, but it is rather bothersome to forget other things.
I simply hate it when I forget where I put things or when I have forgotten to do something I told someone else I would do. I am grateful that I can not remember how painful childbirth was.

As you right say that we feel forgetfullness as a curse when we miss to do some very important work.We feel it as a blessing when we do not forget bad events in life.Because we are blessed with both the faculties we are all living normal life otherwise there will a mess and we all will be living like animals.God is great in giving us both the qualities

yes, everything has two sides.if we always forget things, how can we make a living?how can the society develops?and if we always forget things,we will lose lots of ture friends and loved ones, and make them sad.
but sometimes we need forget things, when there happens some sad things,we need try to forget them and move on.if we stick to it and think it all day and all night, then at this time forgetfulness is really a blessing for us.
of course,i wish i got a brain can remember every important things, while forget those unhappy things and forget the ones who not worthy my remembering.

i'm a certified forgetful person and most of the time, it's a disadvantage in my part. i know a lotta stuff about a specific line/topic and i just can't talk or share that much because i might forget a lot of things i wanna say anyway once we're in the middle of our conversation. i have people who used to remind me of almost everything i need to do or bring or whatever. and sometimes it makes me laugh or smile. sometimes, out of the blue, i thank them of reminding me of my being stupid 'cause i forget things and makes me look stupid or clueless at times. hahahaha..

I believe forgetfulness is a blessing in disguise. Forgetfulness is a natural mechanism to erase the painful memories of the past. If we had to remember them all our life would have turned miserable. Our loosing our near and dear ones we would have been inconsolable. If we misplace our things, or we forget someone's birthdays it is due to our inattentiveness and not due to forgetfulness.

well what i think is that forgetfulness is a good thing. everyone in life faces situations which makes them unhappy and feel miserable and wont it be great we forget these situations and feel happy again. think how beautiful our world will be if we forget our enemies deeds and give a friendly hand to them. how beautiful will our world become.

According to me, forgetfulness is both a curse as well as a blessing!By forgetfulness, you forget many great memories of your past which you were supposed to remember to overwhelm with old memories. That's really very sad!:(.But some evil things which happen in one's life is forgotten which in even more good for us.:).So i meant this by my statement.
Thanks,
Arnold.
