In August 2010 I bought my bungalow. I go the kitchen fitted in October to November. Then before that in August and September I got all the flooring fitted and the light shades in. I enjoyed choosing some new curtains. In 2011 I am going to try to make more storage space in my bedroom. One of my Christmas presents was a pair of shelves. I am going to stain and vanish them to match my bedroom furniture. I have got a mirror with a plain wood frame. I have bought some paint and I am going to paint it black. This will look lovely and will match my furniture handles. I haven't yet decorated my hall and entrance. I must get some flooring down in my porch. I am planning to do that. Are you planning any decorating or changing anything in your home in 2011? Would you like to buy a new piece of furniture?

My husband and I are hoping to finally be able to get our house finished in a few months and get moved in. We've been building this house for almost 7 years and we're really looking forward to having it done. We welcomed our baby boy in June 2010 and we are excited to start our new life as a growing family in our house. I've been buying decor for it over the years and I've got a lot of stuff that I can't wait to see in there.

I've been wanting to change to hard wood floors for the longest time. I shampoo the carpets every year, but I wanted the downstairs floor changed. Maybe this year I'll finally get a chance to change it. If not for the change, it will also add to value of the house. Which will come in handy when we sell it.

That's a nice idea you have. For 2011 I don't plan on buying any furnitures however we may have plan to relocate furniture so it would look better and more functional. We got every piece of furniture needed for the house. I live in a small townhouse so I do not want my house to be cluttered with too many stuff. We don't know what things we need but our plan may chance if we really need it.

Hiya maxi. No, I'm not planning on doing any decorating in the new year. However, I would like to get a new sofa. Preferably a sofa bed. The sofa I have now is so old and worn out. It's been needing to go for a while now. LOL But unless I get some extra money from somewhere or find a great deal on one I don't think I'll be getting a new one anytime soon. Happy mylotting and Happy New Year!

No, I don't plan to do any remodeling this year; I am just trying to make sure I can pay the mortgage.I have several appliances that need to be replaced, that doesn't count as remodeling, does it? Your place is going to be very cozy when you are all done with it.

Wow. It sounds like your place is going to be quite lovely. I would like to do a lot to my apartment, but as far as flooring, the color of the walls, and blinds are concerned, I cannot change them. My apartment complex forbids that.

I have no plans to make major changes to my home. I think most of the changes are essential ones, like a tap which is broken or something like that. If I have the extra money, I'd love to change my kitchen tabletop. It badly needs a refurbishment. Parts of it has been destroyed due to water seepage. I have been staying here for the past 8 years and it has never been repainted. I would love to have some walls in my home repainted. Apart from that, I'm happy with my home.

I really need to do something to make more space in my closets, nothing fits and I'm afraid the shelves are gonna crash down. I live in an apartment so I really can't do much when it comes to painting or redoing the carpets. I might buy some new curtains or area rugs to change it up a little. Maybe rearange the bedroom some.

I am going to move in February and I really look forward to painting and decorating our new home We have bought some new furniture for the living room, and we got a table that my brother doesn't need anymore. Just before christmas we received a very sweet message from the previous owner of the house. She has some furniture that she doesn't want to use in her new home, and if we want some of those things she will give them to us. We are going to visit her in January and see the things. We only need to change a few things in the house before we can move in. The kitchen and the bathroom are fine and we only need to paint the rooms. We are also going to paint the other rooms, change the locks and build a fence around the garden. There are some things that we would like to change or improve in the future like the roof and the basement, but we don't have to do it now and we are going to wait a little (we need to save up some money first)

Hi maximax, Just with your description I could visualize you house. It must look nice both from within and without. I am not so good in decorating home but my wife does whenever she gets time. I have no specific plan for the upcoming year but hope everything goes well.

I would have to see the colors that I was working with first, but yes when moving into a new home I always want to make a few changes. Maybe the colors on the wall, or pretty a pretty horse border for the girl's bedroom. I want a big opne and bright kitchen with a sun room...a lot of light!

Hi maxine, This year I am also planning to do some remodeling. Some of my bathroom tiles fell and broke. I tried to patch them but they don´t look so nice. So this year I will start checking on ceramic tile´s prices and then I´ll see how much it will cost me to have the work done. My bathroom is big so it´s not too cheap to do it all over and I don´t want it to look like a patch work. I hope it is not too much as I need some money for a dental problem and I haven´t yet finished earning the money for the lodgings at Aruba. It is true that I have time and I don´t have to do everything at once. But we´ll see.
