what have you do when you can't sleep at night??

I can't sleep at night this past few days. I did everything like drinking vitamins and milk at night. Before, after I do that it is very effective but now I am suffering it's not working at all. I try to go to the mall with my cousin I never stop walking until I got tired and if i got tired I can sleep at night. But now I did everything I used to do but I think that wasn't enough because I am not sleepy at all. I don't want to drink Sleeping pills because maybe if i did my body will look for it right???.. Help me please I want to sleep without even taking anything??

Greetings! Whenever I'm having a hard time to sleep I just open my facebook account, chat and chat with a relaxing music until I fall asleep. Or sometimes I make myself a bit tired by playing guitar and singing for a while. That's what makes me feel sleepy already. Another way is I eat a lot but I don't sleep after that. I'll rest for 30 minutes then after resting I'll go to bed.

hi there.. ^_^ Yes I used to open my facebook account but still it makes me wake up more and I hate it.. LOL I don't even know how to play guitar or even singing.. LOL ^_^ aha, I love to eat Lot of foods at night. ok i won't sleep after i ate a lot.,, thank you

That's tough. I used to have that problem. What I did was I engaged myself in sports. I would tire myself out early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Also, clearing your head would be best. Try not to think of anything before going to sleep. Also, don't be anxious to sleep. I find that trying hard to fall asleep actually makes me wider awake.

But I can't help it there still things running trough my head. yes, i will try to engage in some sport just to get tired . thanks for the advice.. ^_^

Hi tiina05, there are several things that I would try to when I couldn't fall asleep at night. It's really depressing if keeping on toss and turn in the bed, or with the wide open eyes looking at the ceiling without focusing any thing The first thing I would do is saying prayer repeatedly to get myself calm and relaxed. This would make me sleepy and get into sleep easily. If it doesn't work and I still feel energetic I then would leave my bed and swing my arms in a relaxing way in front of the window at least five four hundred times. This works really well and I don't have to try the rest of the ways like having a warm glass of milk mixed with honey or do some chinese brush calligraphy in the middle of the night Happy posting

Actually, I'm suffering the same as you do these few days. I used to sleep very well everyday, almost falling asleep as soon as I lied on bed. I figured perhaps it's because of the light work load. But I did try some ways to deal with this problem. When I can't sleep at night, I recite stories I used to remember which makes it easier for me to fall asleep. Maybe you can try this too.

Do you sleep during the day time? If so, then maybe you have had too much sleep - so you should stop your daytime naps! I found watching movies and reading books helps me sleep. Alternatively, is to start writing blogs etc on Internet. That might help.

Nope, I am not taking nap in daytime I never try to because I know to myself that I wont sleep at night. yes, I will try to watch tv if i wont get sleep again. thank you

Hello...I think you lagging exercises. See...getting a good sleep at night is very important. As that particular point all other activities in your body will take place and you really need rest. If you are already having good food(like sufficient amount of protien, vitamin and iron) then continue to have those. But side by side do exercises or go to gym. And try to do it at evening time. SO that it will make you tired by night and you can have a good sleep.

well, usually i don't have any problem sleeping at night as i am already tired everyday from doing lots of stuffs... if i have trouble sleeping, i usually read a book or watch a movie... and after that i will be able to sleep... take care and have a nice day...

may be you just think too much or worry about something. try to clear your mind before going to bed or try meditation, it might help.

For me, I will like to make a cup of coffee and drink it while spend my time on PC to update my site or login at Mylot. After finished, I will slept to a sleep. Can You believed??

I read that drinking warm milk will only make you less sleepy, it is better to drink orange juice than milk. And to help you sleep, the room should be conducive for sleeping. Remove all the clutters if there are any. Harness any light that will disturb your sleep. Avoid using the computer before bed time or any activity that will make your brain work and active. You can only do bath tub with lavender scent.It has a relaxing effect on your body. Then relax your mind and hit the bed early.

I play games at facebook. But the problem is, I enjoy playing games so much that I don't even notice it's already 3am in the morning. LOL

Don't eat too much at dinner especially meat and avoid drinking carbonated drinks. During bed time try to listen to romantic musics.

Just as what you have done, you can do some physical exercise before sleeping. I myself have tried this method, it does work. You can also listen to some slow music this kind of music can make you relax. uncautiously, you can fall asleep. These methods are often used when I have sleep problems. I hope they can help you too! My boyfriend has that problem as well. He has a difficult time going to sleep and when he finally does he feels horrible the next day. His bed and pillow have to be very soft or it makes it worse. He has resorted to taking sleeping pills which I don't approve of but they help him fall asleep. He also listens to classical music, which allows him to relax. Maybe you can try that as well. I hope it works out for you. if not, you can also consult a doctor, maybe that can help.

When I can't sleep, there are several things that I do. I might go online, read a book, watch a movie or television, or something like that. Doing these things do help me finally get sleepy and fall asleep.

hi.. dont mistake me if my option is like a comedy.. but it well works for me.. if i not felt sleepy, i will count the numbers 1,2,3...continously.. after a certain time, without knowing you, you will be slept,,,

Mostly I play with my computer till my eyes goes sleepy but some times when I feel tired while working on computer then I watch some Love Story movie because they make me sleepy too :D

Hi tiina05, Do you follow any religion? If yes, praying before sleeping is also very useful. Or you can try some yoga exercises, that's also perfect for a well sleep. Let your nervous system feel relax if you want to have a a good sleep.

I used to have insomnia before & tried drinking hot milk or choco or even taking a warm bath. At first it really worked but later no matter how hard i tried, drinking hot milk or choco & taking a warm bath didn't seem to work at all.Then I happen to stumble a video on youtube about Wai Lana yoga. I tried doing some yoga before going to sleep & believe it or not halfway through the series of videos I'm already sleepy specially the ones focusing on yoga breathing & sound.Try it, it might work for you.
