The new profile

Do you like the new Facebook profile? Did you choose to upgrade to the new profile or have kept it the same?
Me, I don't like the new Facebook profile. It looks all right but the wall is totally ruined. The status is no longer there and there is no filter for the posts whether it was posted by the facebook user or his/her friends, or both. Also, I prefer the tabs on top over the links on the left column.
That's just me. How about you? The old one or the new one?
By the way, I can't do anything about it because Facebook is shoving the new profile to everyone's face even if they don't like the new profile. If you haven't noticed, it was once on top of the feed and says "Coming Soon: Your New Profile". I don't see it right now. I hope it's really gone. Anywho, you can read about it here (not a referral link): http://www.allfacebook.com/facebook-pushes-profile-out-to-all-users-revolt-2011-01
Thanks and have a nice day!

Well i also don't like the new profile at all. As you said the wall is ruined completely. And it's giving me a choice now whether i have to choose the old one or the new one. I would always choose this old profile. If you see the new profile or if you see my discussion on facebook it showed how selena gomez's account was hacked because the new facebook's filter was somewhat easy to bypass. I am seriously scared a little now...
Cheers!

The old profile sure is much better especially when it comes to the wall. Oh, I haven't heard about what happened to Selena Gomez's account. Thanks for the info though. It's scary that the our security may be endangered because of some improvements. AS the old saying goes, don't fix it if it ain't broke.
Thanks for the response!

I am using the new FB profile already. I have no problem with it, but then I don't use it much except for playing Farmville. I could not care either way, I mean the old one or the new one. To me, it makes no difference.
If I am not mistaken, you can still post your Status. Underneath the thumbnails of the photos, you can see the Share with 'Status', 'Photo', 'Link', etc. Isn't that the one?

Thanks for the response!
Yes, the status can still be posted. However, the problem is that the latest status/post is no longer displayed on the top of the wall and because there's no longer filters, the status may be buried by posts from friends and such.

i hate it.if i'd wanted it,i would have done it myself.
that is the thing that really irks me about FB.they almost insist on not only sharing things you don't want shared, but they force you to change things that are fine.

If I understand correctly we will not have choice. I understand that all profiles will be upgraded automatically on a set date and I believe it is any day now.
I do not like the new look, but then I do not spend too much time there to apply to much importance. On the other hand it is a free site so we will not have much to complain either.
Good luck and perhaps we should go there and get a bit acquainted with it as soon it will not be an option.

Yes, since Facebook is free, I guess we just have to adapt to their changes. It will just take time getting used to, but it doesn't mean we have to like it, lol.
Thanks for the response and happy myLotting!

for me, the new profile is okay. although it is true that the wall is now quite confusing. i still believe though that the developers are really trying hard to make facebook more appealing. i think i can be able to adapt to the new face of facebook.

I'm OK with it. I like the fact that Face Book friends are easier to access than before. In general, I like FB's format, and while the old profile certainly had its merits, the new one is good too.

I really dont like it and the new look has put me off from using it too i understand that sites change but it can get very confusing as they are trying to get so much content in that it just freezes the site for me all the time.

I haven't upgraded. I learned my lesson from when myspace messed up their whole thing and I idiotically upgraded. I am thinking I'm getting sick of both of those sites. They keep changing for the worse.

I just joined FB recently, and still haven't figured out the old one completely, and now I will have to learn the new one (sigh). It seems a lot of sites are changing their look, maybe because it's a new decade.

Hi! Same here, i don't like changes because i am used to the old one. I hope we all adapt to it. Am a bit confuse at first when new updates from a site pops. I'll just keep on learning how it goes so i'll soon love the new profile. Happy mylotting.

I upgraded my profile to the newer version just to try and be updated as possible because of my friends too, they changed it to the new version. But I realized I hate it. I like the old one though, because it's simple and like it's just easy to deal with.

I actually like the new profile. As for forcing users to change eventually, most sites will do this atleast facebook is letting you see how it will look beforehand. You just can't change then change back is the only thing if you don't like it and want to keep the older one for a bit longer

with facebook do we really have any choice whether we like anything or not? i bet no! i havent checked the new profile but the way you describe it, it doesnt look good. facebook should let only those who want to change to the new profile change and those who dont want to remain in the current profile.
if we have a choice i wont change
