how long could you stay on the line when you are calling at customer care?
can you stay on the line for 30 minutes or long?
i called to customer care last day to ask about my DSL Bill,
but the line was always busy and the operator always say "Please stay on the line and your call will be connected"...and i waited for almost 30 minutes,
very disappointed with my DSL customer care because of there poor service.
so i just put it down the phone and never call again.

I have been on the phone for customer service for a long time. I just want to talk to a real person, you know. Not to mention a real person that knows what they are doing, which can in fact be a joy to behold. Sadly, that does appear to be a bit too much to ask for. Heaven forbid that we get a bit of competence on the line. Therefore, I am forever holding.
I think really, if you are going to call customer service, you better make sure that the rest of your day is cleared. Because you will in fact could potentially be on the phone for a very long time and frustration will mount to some absurd levels. I would say be patient but really, I think that after the first twenty minutes, especially with an urgent issue, that fact is going to just get me slightly agitated, the more time I have to wait, every time I'm assured "my call is very important."

I for sure won't be staying in line for a call that i am really sure is not gonna be connected to a support person for that long. I don't have that much patience, 5 minutes is already very long to me. I have worked as a customer care representative for a long time now and i now that i have to accept all pending calls and chat from customers even if i am very busy. I can accept the call and would ask them to go back in a few minutes due to heavy traffic in the livechat or call. It's rude and a minus to these companies who don't take care of their clients for not giving over all good service.

Hi Asliah,
The beauty of Speaker Phone! I guess the amount of time I'm willing to wait on the line to speak to someone really depends upon how badly I really need to speak to them. If I am going to be home anyway then I just put my phone on "speaker" and that way I can just go about doing my stuff and I will hear it when a real person finally comes on the line. If your phone doesn't have this feature, it is so worth looking into.

The longest I will wait is 20 minutes unless I just have to talk to somebody and then I'll wait until I can't take it anymore. Most companies have a call back feature so that you don't have to wait forever. They should call you back when it your turn, that way you don't have to wait forever.

I've nearly stayed 30 minutes on the phone and it's when I was ordering at a Mcdonald's. The customer service rep couldn't understand where my address was because we just moved that time and I wasn't sure what route the delivery boy should take.

I read the topic of this discussion and before opening it I thought you are talking about standing on the line in a bank or in a post office to submit my electric bill.
It is common here. Waiting for half an hour for the customer care is also a boring thing.
I think they should improve their services. It is good to avoid such services and chose the others.

Hello asliah,
Your patience should be appreciated. Staying on line for 30 minutes is really too much and I can’t wait for so long. Here the MTNL customer care is sometimes testing our patience now we have the number of individuals who is coming to attend the complaints and we are contacting that person when in need.

As far as I am concerned, I think it is a piece of cake for me to stay on line for more than 30 minutes there. When I am free a day, then I maybe choose to stay on line the whole day to enjoy my life to the fullest. To me, stay on line can be a very enjoyable moment. I think everything can go easily on the Internet.Wish you enjoy the Internet so much.

Hello! No, i can't stay on the line talking to no one else but recorded voice. It is fine to wait for five minutes maximum after which i'll just hung up. I do not want to waste my time with the operators of a company especially if they will treat customers like that. No one in the world wants to wait for the longest time. I think you can open with them that they do have a poor service so the management will fully think of better ways to improve more and more. We pay for their good service. Happy day to you.

Hi,
well... most of company here have a connecting line but it still on hold... you can hear music while you are waiting. or some companies have a call back option... just leave them their number and they will call you back as your turn come up. I love this idea

I cannot possibly wait for 30 minutes on the phone for a service.
It wastes my time.
If that is the case I will do the same thing- just to put it down.
I think theses days, companies do not come up with expectations especially the call center services.
It is better to go to their office which is time consuming on the part of the customer.
It is sad sometimes that call services is like this now.

I have spent a lot of time on the telephone over the years. I think I am very patient on the phone. Waiting can sometimes be annoying but often it can be worth the wait. I don't mind waiting a long time with customer care if i know I am going to get results.

aww that was bad! but i like the patience u showed.
had it been me,, i cut my call if they dont pick up in the next 5 mins. and even if they pick at 5th minute i usually scold them,, for making me wait for such a long time. :D
The next time u call them. Tell the person on the line to convey a message from you for the boss and abuse his negligence and poor administration. :D
