When will you admit you are old?

How time flys!My son will be 18 years old in about two months. In my memery,he's still a naughty boy,but now in front of me,I can see a young man with thick beard. It seams that I've just walked out of the multifarious housework, but unconsciously I have peregrinated half of my life. Oh,something came across my mind:One day before this winter holidays,I walked home from work with a little girl by my side,"Mr.Six,you have quite much grey hair! Are you fifty?"I smiled and shook my head.I was aware that I was old,at least in appearance. And you??

Thankfully looking young runs in my family and I do take care of my health quite a bit with healthy eating and exercise. I do not feel old but when I see the children getting older it takes me to remember age.

Gee I remember when I was 19 I thought I was old.. LOL.. I think some people reflect on age when they are around the younger ones. Me I am proud when people say are you 25 or 26, I say I am happy with both so pick one.

My son was 32 last year and my first grandson will be one year old at the end of this month. That doesn't make me old yet though because I haven't got time to be old. I have too many things still to do before I get old. When I have done them all then I might be older, but not old

There is certainly a difference between age and feeling old, I feel that if we begin to feel old then we can age quicker. My youthful heart and soul tells me I am not getting old but fermenting with beauty.

Don't be frustrated, 50 is not a big number at all. And you have a younger face, that very good. Just enjoy your life and have a young mood~

I don't have any kids of my own, but I have had people often tell me that I look 10 years (or more) younger than I am. This was not fun when I was younger, but now that I am over 50, it is great! Of course, when I am old enough to get senior discounts, that might not be so great, but it is nice to think that maybe I am not as old as I am. But other times, I feel like I am very old, especially since I was diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer. Have a great day!

Hi,Daeckart! To be young is so good, but no one can prevent him from becoming old.My wife looked young even some years ago, she's 40 but looked like 30,she never did making up.Now she has to use cosmetics, and she wants to be as young as before!lol

I almost never used makeup (occasionally someone would do it for me, but I never got into it myself). I think the fact that I never had kids and that I didn't use soap or other chemicals on my face kept me looking younger. I know that I'm not getting any younger, but that is no reason to just roll over and die.

@daeckardt Sorry to hear you illness, but for a cancer carrier, I think a good mood is very important. I have heard that people can fight cancer for nearly 40 years as the doctor says that he can only live for 2 years. Keep a good mind and never give up is the key of fighting against illness. Good luck with you and hope you can enjoy the life till old.

I know i'm getting older by the year, but i will not admit it so readily. Being a woman, it's natural that i want to look young at all times. I try all ways and means to make myself look younger than my actual age, but i do not go for surgery and whatsoever. There will be a time whereby i know i can't hide my age anymore, but i hope that time won't come so soon.

What you said really makes sense.Though we all hope we'll never turn old,we can't manage it anyway.Just let it be,as long as we keep our mindset young, all will be ok.Have fun!

Hi. Age is just numbers to record the existence of an individual. It is alright to age as long as you are still productive in life. We could have changes in our physical looks yet this is not a factor for us to admit that we are old. The only time that I think I would accept that I am old is when I am totally useless in this life. This is the time for me to say, resign boy.

Really there are all kinds of understandings about whether we are old or not,but all in all, young mindset can bring us young thoughts and young actions.Yes,when we're entirely useless, then we will admit we're old,we must never surrender to our ages.

Well, my body reminds me every day that I'm getting old. But it's all really relative isn't it? As long as my mind is still active and I'm not drooling all over the place, I'm as young as my mind feels. Of course, that could change tomorrow but today I'm still young.

Hey Oldsix, Hey I think you are old when you decide you are pretty much old. If you have grey hair then dye it if you like or go for the between look and get a gray highlight still have some greys in there for maturity. Me I think im a good Age im 19 years old but I think im going to keep control of how i look and how fast i will age. As long as we keep ourselves in good health you can control or slow down the prcess of aging but eventually you will get old haha. My dad is 60 years old he doesnt act or look 60 he looks in his 40's :) Good looking 60 year old haha

Youth runs in my family as I know some who are in the later 60's who by no means look even 40. I agree with you that a youthful hearth does a body good.

I am admitting I am old already... I am 23 years old and I just have had my baby, my muscle is always stiff, I don't get to hang out at all, I don't have friends aroudn.. I Feel like I am an old lady... I look very tired these days bwecause of not getting enough sleep in the middle of the nights and because of my very demanding baby.

Ooops!!! I admit that some days I am very old. Some others though, I feel very, very, young. Today I passed from feeling very, very, old (when I told my 20 year old granddaughter about how we had iceboxes instead of fridges when I was little) to feeling very young when I showed her my new swimmimg suit that I´ll take for my vacations and we talked clothes. I don´t have a single grey hair though. That makes a big difference. I have dyes my hair for ages!!!

That´s the way! My hair was dark brown and now it´s a shade lighter because I found out that lighter hair softens face. And I still have the benefits of a brunette´s complexion.

I am 44 and Mum describes me as "lucky" because she turned grey as a badger way before then. I have the odd grey hair but they don't bother me and I don't intend to have my hair dyed either as friends of my Mum's have gone down that route and the hair turns straw-like eventually, due to the hair having to keep being dyed. My hands aren't as smooth as they used to be. It's one area of the body we all tend to ignore..then they go all wrinkly and it's too late then! I have been known to use my facial moisturiser on them and it doesn't seem to do them any harm.

It depends on how often the hair is dyed and how it is dyed. One of Mum's friends goes to a decent hairdresser, therefore pays more than the other lady I mentioned.
• China

Is that true?It seams I've heard of that.Often having hair dyed will do our hair no good. But we'd better take good care of our health, good health can bring us so much.

I am reminded of my age when I try to get a job. Yet, I'm still fast in some things physically, and very bright. I don't have much grey hair and that runs in the family. Only the lines in my face show that I am old. Like another myLotter on this discussion, I have a lot of things to do so I don't have time to get old either. Like you and other myLotters, I think that age "is nothing but a number" too.

Thank you. You remind me that I can't wait to start growing my vegetable garden (when I get my own house again.) When I lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the tenant had little rose gardens in front of the apartment. He or she had red, blue, and some other color roses. When I moved in, I tried to keep the roses living. When I moved, I always thought that someday I will have a rose garden for my lady, whoever she is. So that is one of the things I have to do. So yes, put your heart into your orange garden and be young forever.

Mmm,you've really given me a good advice. These four years I've been caring my little orange garden, and less thinking of my age.According to your advice,I'll put my heart into it,never think of my age, then I'll be young forever.lol

Its a long time to reach that time for me. I never felt I am old in any time and so will not feel also. I feel I am still young however old I become. I would not allow that thought to come to my mind any time in my life. Life is to enjoy and not to think whether we are old.

Hi Oldsix, The best people to remind us how old we are are our kids. My eldest son is turning 12 this year, and my husband and I would sometimes talk about how tiny he was when he was a baby, and now he's even taller than me. I just hope that I live long enough to see my grandchildren, which is actually still a long way ahead... Once gray hair started growing out of my otherwise black hair,(and this happened about two years ago) I've come to accept that I am getting old. I think the best way to face age is to accept it graciously.

You are so realistic and frank. In fact we have to face the music that we cannot avoid.Just let it be,but we'd better keep an active young mindset, then maybe we'll look young.Have a nice day!

You know what, I have to admit I am old too, not like when I was 20s. I am on my early 30, I have to admit honestly too. But I feel like I am too old to go to club or chasing girls around. Even though I am single. I still too shy to ask girls out myself. I wish that I am 20, and I still have that gut to do so.

Hi,oldsix691418. I can't agree with you on the point .To my mind ,people's age is written on their hearts instead of their appearance .Have you ever read a poem "About youth "? I can't remember the whole lines ,but i remember the spirit of it.Many great men use the poem as their motto.I think there must be some reasons for them to choose it . Speaking of appearance ,i don't think of it as a problem either .With the development of medicine ,a plastic surgury can turn you into a 30 + year-old man .All in all ,keeping a young mind is the key to living a energetic life .What do you say ?
• China
