Are you a believer?

There are so many things we hear about in the news or see on tv. Strange incounters, psychics helping police with their investigations, hauntings, etc. When you hear these stories it makes even the most skeptical people wonder. What if? Do these things really exist? Can people really foresee the future or things that have happened in the past by holding an object or tuning in to an area? Is there a Big Foot? Do you believe that the energy of the dead remain in some places? Are you skeptical? Are you one of those people that have to see it to believe it? Have you had an encounter? Your thoughts.

I believe in ghosts because my Mom came back to visit me and my husband's family, their Uncle came back to visit them. The rest, I believe are possible. I haven't experienced. So I don't know for sure. I'd like to see Champy, the Lake Champlain Monster, from a respectable distance, not like 4 feet from a canoe.

Seeing is believing , but it doesn't necessarily have to be that way for me. Like for instance , I believe in the existence of ghosts , Big Foot and even the biggest anaconda .. even though I've not seen these in real life. God forbid I see them in real life , LoL .. for I don't think I can stomach watching. -faints-. I believe some people have the ability to feel for things to come or see it in their dreams and stuff like that. But these gifts are mostly not known to them , until up to a point when something really happens and they remember all those signs they have seen or dreams. However , I don't really believe in direct predictions .. like the cliche when the world is going to end. I do believe in 6th senses and instinct. Animal instinct..

That's so true .. sometimes we are only using our conscious mind instead of the sub-conscious too.

Yep! The instinct is there we just have to learn to use it and not double think ourselves. I do too much of that. It is said that we only use about 20% of what is available to us.

I have felt and seen. My daughter gets feeling and can hear from family members. My grams was that way and knew when my uncle had a fatal car accident. SHe didn't know what but felt something. Weird to have what your husband did. I had a in-law that had that for awhile. It must be nice to feel he is still around you. I would like that.

I believe in many things. I've seen some of them myself. I've even had premonitions of things that will happen. My mother smelled my step-fathers "smell" in the house a number of times after he had crossed over. I have felt, literally my poodles hair in the bed with me. I rubbed him until I feel asleep. I have seen my Uncle come to me in a white light, he was smiling. Then he turned and left. It was his way of letting me know not to worry about him. Because I was worrying about his souls and where "it" went. I've been "warned" about impending problems that will harm or possibly kill me or others all throughout my life as far back as I can remember. I know things before they will happen. My "intuition" is strong and if I "listen" I will have no problems or not many. As for other things, sasquach and such...I think things are out there, what names they give them I don't care...we have no idea what all is out there. We have not seen everything. There is no way "we" can be the only race in the universe or on these lands. Just because I have not seen them does not mean they do not exist.

When I know about bad things and someone won't listen to me when I say something I feel bad that I can't help bring about a change. It's so hard knowing something bad may or will happen unless it happen to get changed. I'm lucky my family and friends know to heed what I say.

I envy you your intuitive sense. My daughter has it but I guess it skips a couple generations cause grams also had it. I think things are out there too. Other peoples accounts make it hard not to believe.

Oh, I am a definite believer. I believe in all of these things that you mentioned, and I've had more than my share of encounters and first hand experiences.

Sure, why wouldn't I? With so many proofs I think skepticals are cowards and stupid. We can't believe in everything, but we can believe like 70% just to have an eye open, ask the right questions, do research, think about it and find our own answers. Just to reject is not intelligent at all. I believe.

I "think" it is illogical not to consider possibilities without investing a scientific exploration that prove either a notion to be true or untrue. If science can not prove or disprove a possibility, then it remains one. I "feel" there is so much more to life than the eye can see, the ears can hear, the tongue can taste, the nose can smell, the body can touch, and the mind can know. I try to make it a habit not to judge or speculate possibilities.

And there are many scientists who say there is fact to back it and many who say their isn't. It really depends on the outlook of the scientist even then.

I think there are a lot of things that we will never understand, and I also think there are so many things that we may never even witness about this world; the way that energy tranports itself through it. That's not to say that I believe every story and yes..I am skeptical about some things. I have had my own strange experiences. What we have experienced, well, it is easier to believe. I am a pretty open minded person though.

Yes, to believe every story would be obsurd. But there are some that make it very hard not to believe there is something there. I am rather open minded to. I have seen several things and so I do believe there is something there where others who have not would not.

No, I don't need to see it to believe it. I'm sure there are a lot of things that we are incapable of understanding. But I don't easily believe in things either. It depends on who's saying it for me too.

A believer, there's much more in the world than what we can see or understand. Many miracles of yesterday might have an explanation one day.

I think that unless they come with some palpable evidence or double-blind experiments, they are either bogus or luck. People tend to get excited thinking of "paranormal" or cryptozoology and stuff like that, but the lack of evidence tends to keep it more fiction than reality. Even if some of them were actually real, but lacked any substantial proof other than miscellaneous encounters and videotapes, the enormous quantities of frauds simply overcome them, putting it all in the same pseudo-knowledge vault of contemporary delusions and urban myths.

I don't assume there isn't a possibility for creatures we don't know to exist. Hell, there are probably millions for all I know. It's just that unless they provide some proof that can be studied, some blurry footage and shady photos won't be enough to raise them above the myth status. So yeah, I'm open to it too, but I retain my skepticism.

I find the cryptozoology side of it interesting and I am always watching something. I am just that way. I do believe there are things out there we don't understand fully and I am open to it. I think that is alot of any of it really. Being open to it.

Hi, celticeagle. From all of the strange things that I have encountered, I have to say that I am a true believer. If I was not before, I sure am as of now. I have seen and heard many strange things in my life, that has made me a witness and an believer. For others that don't believe in out of this world occurrences, well, once they have encountered something out of this world, I want to know what their response will be then.

hmmn, I believe that mermaids exist...and I guess that is saying much already, but sometimes I think with all the bogus people loitering around trying to make money for things they claim they can foresee or be, it's hard to believe everything...so I give everything the benefit of the doubt... ...nothing can be that known without having any basis, don't you think so too?? ...but that's just me, I can't speak for other people

To me I think it all boils down to if you believe that believing can create anything. I think that the power of belief is by far one of the greatest in the mind. Its why everything is around us. Someone had to believe that it was possible, and allow for themselves to enable it to come to pass. I believe in the power of the mind. I believe in the power of love and appreciation. If someone believes something and has love and joy behind that belief I think that it will surely come to reality.

I agree that the power of the mind is all powerful. As in healing and mind over matter. Very true. Positive energy too.
