Some mylot users don't read the "discussion details" when responding

Hello everyone... I want to talk something that happens here in the forum. It's sad that some users don't read the "discussion details" where the creator of the discussion describes the topic that the discussion is about. Some people just read the subject and write about anything related, but sometimes the details are requiring the responder to talk about something specific. I've created some discussions with a question as subject, but I was not asking that to the members... I was only saying that most of the people were wondering that question... What do you think?... has this happened to you?... I like that users read my description before responding, but some just respond...

It has happened in my discussions and at times when I am responding to a discussion. I have actually read a full page of responses that related a bit to the discussion but no one actually answered the question. I have actually been told that I was the only one to answer the question in that discussion. lol, I suppose some members are reading the title and not really the fully body of the discussion. I have also noticed some members answering the last line but not reading the discussion, as there was this one time the OP was saying about her hubby and the responder commented as if it were her she was talking about. So it does happen.

I just read an answer to my post about my friend´s son offering to to gardening in my yard and used the word "partner" in the title. Someone thought I had a boyfriend. I wish!!!

It has happened on many of my discussions but I was not at all surprised because the title, although pertaining to the topic of the discussion, was not what we were supposed to be discussing at all. I do it on purpose quite often just to see what a lot of fun it can bring After all just because a title says 'I'm not getting any this week-end' doesn't necessarily mean that we all have to end up in the gutter. The topic was obvious that I was talking about notifiers here on myLot

Yes, I have seen this many times, people just literally response to the title without reading the content... I feel quite disappointed to see that sometimes and I usually will leave the comments alone...

How weird, I was confused at first because I thought that's what you normally do, read the description. But if the title has the question there already, I do see some discussion starters do it like that and so I think a lot of people will just assume that that is all the sentence they need to read. I used to do that in the past, but now I try not to title my discussions with a question and leave the question in the discussion so that people don 't just try to wiz by.

Hi rice, I completly agree with you. Some responses are so bad that now that I am answering to you I am thinking that I should give them a minus sign. It doesn´t have anything to do with a poor English. It is more a wish to answer anything to make yet another response and have an extra cent. Having to respond to your post has given me the answer to what I will do. A minus will teach some people that this is a social site. So, let´s converse. Take care.

People don't take time/have time to read the entire introduction? Why not? Why are they here then? You would think that in a discussion forum that the members would want to know what they were supposed to be talking about! I'm shocked. Simply shocked!

I am very new to this, but have been reading the entire discussion. My topics don't give much insight to the full discussion. I guess this could be why I'm not getting a lot of responses.
