It does not directly contribute to the earnings. Though it helps user to find your discussion, thereby a chance of more members responding to your discussion, which leads to the chance of you earning more by commenting back on those responses.
Please read this.

zralte thanks for that link. well, same here as sais06 said it kind of clarifies my thoughts too, so good to know, so that means when we tag and someone searches on particular word there's more likely more results will appear if we keep tagging. good to know. have a nice dy both of you.

Have you ever noticed te column over there ---
Those are discussions with the same tags as the discussion that you are viewing and are shown with thte topic with the most recent activity at the top.
If a user is responding on a discussion of their interest, and they see another (or more) over there, then they might respond in them too.

Yes that is correct. Once you have tagged a specific discussion you will not be asked to tag again.
You can tag without adding a response or a comment.
Maybe you were not aware of that either.

thanks for explaining that. I didn't know that column over there works like that. btw, I also noticed now when you tag one post in a discussion tagging page doesn't come up anymore, that's normal, right?

As mentioned in the FAQ's that tagging is a way to organize discussions for easy navigation and generating results to searches created by a user. myLot pays for every participation that we do so I do believe that it has effects on our earnings as we do help in classifying discussions. I usually tag whenever I have something relevant to tag because it is also one way to help improve the system.

that's good then. tho I figured not many people here use tags since sometimes when I search very few results show up even tho it's not a popular subject there should be a few since mylot is international and of course majority of discussions about programs and stuff are all here, right.
yeah well I'll try to tag now too, though as you said I won't use it if I don't have anything relevant to tag either since using same tags over and over may not exactly positively contribute to the community, right.

Hey,
tags can raise your earnings indirectly.
When you search a term in a search engine, the tags are what bring the link to your thread up.
So tags do not give you a couple of extra cents.
They have a range from nothing to over mush more than you expect.
I hope I have helped.

that is good to know, thank you. as I said I'm using them from now on, tho I still tend to forget sometimes and hit skip button, but I guess I'll get used to it eventually. :]

our every activity at mylot counts, may be it is tagging a discussion, or rating it and also adding photos to the discussion, all this helps as i have heard of from other mylotters and it actually helps us to increase our earnings at mylot. even i had this kind of opinion when i was a newbie at mylot but later from the discussions i could know better about mylot.

hmm that's interesting. I don't see how tags could help us raise our earnings, or rating discussions, but I see you're a veteran here judging by your posts, so you should know, no. thanks for your response.

Mostly I don't add tags, but if you add, you'll soon come back to your discussion or response. And it seems your earnings haven't been raised.

well even though your earnings aren't raised it's good if we kind of help the whole site be better organized since it helps us make money by posting and replying here no?
