Earlier today I saw a classic photo opportunity. Two young lovers standing gazing into one anothers eyes with the backdrop of our Cathedral. Why do I never have a camera when I want one? Sometimes we come across these things and just think "Awww". I wonder if we all get a little sentimental and gooey when we come across such sights.

I have often wished for a camera but the mind is a wonderful thing--it saves everything! You'll always remember those two rapt lovers and can see them again any time you like without opening a photo album or a computer file. Isn't that great?
That is one reason I sometimes envy people with camera phones. They see a wonderful picture like that and they can save it with their phone. Still, camera phones are too expensive for me so I'll just fill up the memory card that's in my head!

I have a digital camera but rarely remember to take it with me anywhere! I'd forget my keys if I didn't need them to start the car.

Hi P1key,
When I used to be out and about especially in summer, I love going out in the woods and I often see things like liitle animals scurring about, that is when I wished I had a camtera handy, but I don't think, because when I am out wlaking I don't want to carry things that can hamper me as I don't have a long strap on my camera, when I am out next I will make sure I carry it with me or get someelese to carry it for me, lol! good thinking! hugs.

Some little trolls are getting a little touchy about polls lately aren't they??? Much like you, I seemed to NEVER have my camera with me when I needed it & I kept missing some GREAT shots!!! So, I spent about $50 more for a camera phone & now I no longer miss those wonderful shots!!! Then the shots I really like, I turn into the wallpaper on my phone so I can constantly enjoy them & customize my phone!!! My wallet has a holster to hold my phone; so, when I leave home, I seldom forget my phone & therefore have my camera!!!

Awww and truly sorry you missed your Kodak moment. As luck would have my blackberry has a nice camera in it. However I have yet across cross an awww moment like you.
But I suppose if my moment of a young passionate couple walks past me some day I shall be waiting, and since these discussions are never really closed I just might come back and post the picture. LOL...

I solved the no-camera-when-I-need-one problem when I bought my iPhone. The camera is awesome, and I never forget my phone, so I'm never without it.

I have an iPod Touch that does much the same. Bizarrely it takes excellent HD movies but I find the camera results a little grainy. I have tried various apps to improve it but without much success. However, currently I am I'm an hotel room writing this response having hooked into their wifi. Ain't technology wonderful?! (I don't like the predictive text though. Makes me write real gibberish at times).

hi pikey my husband and I used to people watch and we often wished
we had brought a camera with us. I have seen a little toddler pick a
dandelion and carry it over to an elderly woman seated all alone. We heard
him say,"My gift to you, willya be my grandmother?" His mom was sort of embarrassed but the elderly lady said," don't scold him, this is very
sweet. thank you young man for this pretty posy." the boy's mom explained that he had just lost his beloved Grandma and missed ther so much . I often wondered if they had ever followed up.I mean the elderly lady seemed lonely and the little boy was looking for a grandma figure in
his life. I have often wanted to catch a look on my son and my husbands faces when they met me as a light seemed to flare up in their eyes as if to say oh good you are here. A camera would come in handy at such times.

Hi, p1ke...Nah, I don't get all sentimental and gooey about seeing people in such situations. I will do the awwwww and geee bit when I see cute and cuddly animals though. Don't know why that is. Maybe because I know that people can in the next minute turn into brutes.

I love taking pictures of places, people, flowers, scenery and anything that interests me.
I always have my mobile camera ready with me.
I don't bring digicam with me always, but my mobile camera is good enough to captures images and could save up to a thousand pictures.

oh i simply love those moments. i stare continuously and then get embarrassed if caught in the process i really wish my eyes were the camera sometimes you know. even when you have a camera and you want to take a shot of something, by the time you take it out, it becomes too late and you say to yourself "just miss!!"

Why do I never have a camera when I want one? - Same reason why I never have one when there are great photo ops. Murphy's law - Proven by zralte.
I do get sentimental seeing those kinds of things...not just people, even animals. I do take some photos when I had my camera phone. The phone I am using now, does not have any quality at all. The camera is just for the namesake.
