These would be discussions that are a couple months old, yrs old, and even back to some of the discussions in your own profile even that people might be interested in bringing back to life as well? I have always wondered what is the Best thing to do myself so many times I just try starting a New discussion instead of bringing up an old discussion trying not to repeat that topic of interest, etc. as well.
I know with the thousands of discussions in here being started all the time there is a lot of interesting discussions that people, even some of our friends may never see. It can be interesting sometimes when checking out some topics of interest to see that no one has started a New discussion there in yrs, and I might have been the last one even.
So what about you? What is your opinion, and if you have discussions that are yrs. old have you ever considered trying to respond back to one of the responses with no response back to it to see if there are people interested in responding back or not?

It is really hard to get an older discussion back into circulation. I have responded to a couple and still there was no way for anyone to see and get them back on the home page. They may have shown up in the recent list and of course, they're in my activity list on my profile page but other than that, I don't see how to get them moving along. One of them was just 3 weeks old and the other was 5 or 3 years old. I would really have liked to see them back into the queque and commented upon now. I wonder how many responses to an old discussion it would take to get it back to the home page.

Well, I am not sure if it shows on my Profile or not if an Older discussion is replied back too so it could keep going. Maybe this is something someone should try and let me know they did it, and see if we can get it moving again?

I've had people come back and respond to a discussion that was months old. I just respond like normal! I do not go back and try to kick start an old one of my own though. I usually try not to respond to one that is way old either, just becuase I don't know if the originator wants to mess iwth it again or not!

Well, I feel that since we can, or at least I think we can still earn from any discussion that we choose to respond back too no matter when it was started here, that even if the discussion was started even 4 yrs. ago, it is worth taking the time to respond back too as you never know what type of responses it will end up bringing back on it again.

Absolutely! Plus if it was a valid discussion that carried some worth chances are some thoughts can still be added to it even now!

There was a glitch in Mylot when I started a discussion about fingerless gloves. So that discussion has 0 reponses. I wish someone would go find it and finish it. I do like you do, I try to start new ones without repeating old topics I've started. Often people will go back and find ones they liked of mine and respond months or years later. But that's fine. I respond to them.
Take care.

I think it is always Best to go and find discussions of my friends they have started that I have not had a chance to respond back too yet and then go from there. There are many wonderful discussions out there that I know I have missed especially from the times I was not as active in here for sure.

Well, there are a lot of interesting discussions in here being started in here from time to time and even if a person was to sit here 24/7 there is no way you could ever keep up. So whether the discussion is a day old or 5 yrs. there can be something to learn from them all for sure.

Hiya KH,
Very often if I don´t have a lot of time to check I do answer older ones that have been posted ages ago but I usually answer them because they interest me anyway.
I don´t give myself any set rules for that kind of thing if I like it I respond to it the best way I can.
Don´t think that time really is of importance not really.
Have People responding back to my discussions from ages back too and I respond back to them also.

Yes, there are many times that I do also not make it a habit to go searching for older discussions I might have missed... unless it is a friend who is always responding back in my discussions and I am searching for something to respond back too that I might have missed.

I have my days where I intentionally seek for old discussions, but generally if nothing new is of interest though. I will if I find something could be useful to bring back to life, where others could benefit from responding to them too.
Others do bring mine back to life and I do not mind commenting back as soon as I receive the alert.

Yes, it is interesting sometimes when you see some of your older discussions brought back to life, and I know I have seen quite a few of mine reappear from time to time for sure. And hey since we are not always in here 24/7 there are probably a lot of good discussions our friends have started in here that are quite old, but worth still responding back too again as well.

I do sometimes, if it is something that really interests me. I don't think I have responded to any that were over a year old though.

I have not gone back and searched my own discussions, but have had others bring them up when they were as much as four years old. I responded to a series of related discussions by a friend last night that went back as much as a year. You kind of needed to read the old discussions to know what the new one was about. Many of our more seasoned users make the point that we could get on well without new discussions if we would just thoroughly answer the old ones and really discuss them.

Well, I am sure a lot of times we could learn a lot if people could eventually keep on bringing back up some of our older discussions and I am sure there are still many Good discussions out there I am sure even you have started that I have never responded back too. Personally I have gone thru some of my friends profiles from time to time and tried responding back to like 5 discussions I not responded back too. It was quite interesting for sure.

I would love to go back and find old discussions but unfortunately, I don't have the time. I write all day and myLot between pages and when 5PM comes I live my life.
I have noticed that you do so, though! I used to, when I wasn't so busy, and it was a lot of fun!

Well, a lot of times it does depend on the amount of Free time I have, and I do tend to go and check out my Friends New discussions they have started especially the ones like you who are active here, and respond back to some of their discussions they might have started as well. From time to time this is what gives me some of the ideas for New discussions I decide to start in here as well.

Same here, because hey especially if the person is still actively posting here, it might bring up some Good advice, etc. even then that maybe even the other people here might not have had time to consider as well.

Yes, sometimes, if it is a good discussion. I don't look for old discussions on purpose or anything, but if I happen to stumble upon one, I will reply :)

Same here usually, but if I am checking out one of my friends profiles in here and an older discussion is on their front page of discussions they have started that looks interesting to want to respond back too that I have not already, I will respond back and usually enjoy doing so as well.

I am trying to answer as many old responses that i can, as well as answer as many friends discussons that are old and new.I find that it can be really hard sometimes if i can not get on here for a few days, as there is such alot of discussions that have been started that i have missed that are really great discussions. However i do think that i am getting there and trying to keep everyone happy, lol.I have responded to a person that started a discussion over a year ago, plus they also responded, which i was shocked about.I am going back to all my older discussions and trying to catch up on those responses, but i have only been on here a few months.

Well, I think it is interesting to go back in and read some of the responses especially if someone decides to bring one of older discussions back up as well. I have started many discussions here, and been an active member for almost 4 1/2 yrs. so I have shared a lot for sure.

If the discussion is still interesting, sure.
If it's something that dealt with the current-events of years-ago, probably not ... except as it still applies today (as the big wheel DO keep on toinin`)

I`m a new memeber. So, I dont have any old discussions I can bring back to life... So, I`ll be speaking for the future me. If the topic was interesting and popular than why not? There will be new users signed up to mylot that havent read up on this discussion and might want to give their 2 cents to the matter. Wouldnt hurt, right?

Well, that is true that with as many discussions that have been started here in the 4 1/2 yrs. that I have been a member here, I am sure there are many wonderful discussions that I might have missed. I know also in reality, if any person ever tried to catch up with all of the discussions that they have missed here of mine it would take them months to catch up on all of them for sure.

Not usually. I get a list of my friend's discussions and my interests in my e-mail and that is usually all I get. I don't go on the Mylot site very often. After I open the e-mail and decide if I want to respond or not, I delete it after.

Sometimes I did respond to the old discussions which might be started very long ago.
I discovered those old discussion when I did my mylot search.
I found out the new discussion I intended to start had already discussed earlier.
This was the reason I responded to those old discussions.
Surprisingly, I were still get the comments on my responses to the old discussions which were started few years ago, sometimes.

I was just thinking too of doing just that, commenting back to those responses I have not given in the past specially those that I have started when I was a newbie. I had a false notion before that I earn from those responding to me. And it is nice for veterans here at Mylot to guide me, so I learned that you only get paid for what you do here. I want to comment back on them not because I want to revive it but more of owing it to them for participating in my discussions.

Though i am new in mylot i have a habit of looking for old discussions, actually it is not because of the interest towards any discussion, sometimes i feel to response to those discussions which i feel i can, and if i have some opinions in my mind for those discussions. some times i search for such discussion and respond to such ones. thank you.

Hi Tina, It is a great fun to go back to older discussions and answer them. But unfortunately other commitments come in my way. I'd love to keep on responding the discussions i started or the ones i answered but time doesn't allow me to do so.. But in near future whenever i'll get free time, i might go back to check my older discussions.
Cheers!
