what gift would you like to give yourself? For me, I have been wanting to have a laptop. But it seems hard to get it. I set aside that thing and now what i want is a rosary. I'm planning to have a regular rosary prayer with my kids. I remember that my classmate in high school was usually told by her mother through her letters while working abroad to always pray the rosary. Today, she's a very successful lady and seems to have a happy marriage life. what gift would you give yourself?

That's the gift I'm dreaming of for my self " a laptop" too. Yes, It seems so hard to get, that's why I choose to buy a guitar for myself.
I worship in the morning using my guitar, that makes my day full of life despite of stressful day in the office.
One more thing, I'm using guitar as bonding time with my hubby and kids. I'm so happy that my eldest daughter knows how to play now.

I can see that we have the same wish here...I believe one of the best ways to release stress is by playing musical instrument (or is it just applicable to me?) like guitar, saxophone, and many more musical instruments...I can feel your situation - playing guitar after stressful day at the office, with mountains of work to do - indeed it is relieving... Although I am not in the same shoes as you, but music plays the same role in my life, as it is in your life...
Nevertheless, it is good that your eldest daughter knows how to play it now...It is good for her because she has additional skills that might help her in her study, like entering co-curricular class based on guitar or so ...As for myself, I learn to play guitar from my mother and my friends...And indeed it helps when, you know, stressful days are in the office...
Have a nice day!

I learn to play guitar from my dad. Yes, Music relieves my stress.
My dad is a person whom I know has long temperance.
I thought before that maybe he is a Pastor that's why he has that kind of fruit of the spirit "temperance". Lately I discovered that whenever he is stressed, sad, etc. I saw him playing guitar inside our prayer room.

If given the chance, I want knowledge. I will study culinary arts. I love cooking and most of all I love foods. Watching those chefs making dishes and styling them amazes me....I love to be a chef one day.

You know what, I believe you already have the knowledge. What you only need to to do is to hone it. My daughter loves to learn things in the kitchen, and i just hope she can be like u!

I can see that you are an individual who loves to learn new things...It is great to see people like you studying to achieve their ambition because in some way it motivates me to do the same in my study as well ...Learning culinary art is no easy thing because, yeah it is an art...You need to be creative (which I don't really have at all ) and you need passion...Without passion, there is no way you can survive in culinary art, because as they say art needs passion...
I believe if you said so, you must do so...Who knows one day I will see Chef Whengcat in my kitchen TV! Do your best to achieve your ambition, and good luck!

I'd like to give myself a mansion with a mini home theatre, a studio, and a pool. That would be a great gift to myself.

I can imagine how comfortable your mansion will be...With mini home theater to enjoy great movies, studio to work in quiet environment and a pool to freshen yourself after day-long work, it will be a great place to live in...

Great! Faith ca move mountains, just don't be surprised if God will give you a shovel. I mean, we can have dreams but we should work on them. Sometimes, dreams that are too big so that we can grow into them.

hi there,
all i am thinking right now is wanting to pass my exams because it is like my starting point for me to reach my dreams. i wanna pass it so much so that way after that i can start looking for a job and then finally get a little experience so i can go and be with my love and also help my family. well, if only i could i would get myself a plane ticket to the US, (New York) so i can visit my love.
well, yeah i used to pray the rosary every night. but now that i have grown much older, i would even forget to just say a little prayer. but i would like to thank you for this discussion because you just reminded of how important praying the rosary is. it is indeed very important in life. as they say, do your best, and God will do the rest. it is also another key to success
take care and God Bless Us

If I would give myself a gift, I would have a DSLR camera because I'm really into photography and I wanna capture wonders of everyday life but the thing is its too expensive and if I have an ample cash in my hand right now I aint gonna purchase one, I'll save my money for my tuition so that I can study next year.

Dear, simply having the desire to acquire something (though it's funny because we already know its hard to achieve, see you're laughing)is a nice motivation for our own selves to work harder than usual

I would love to give myself a trip to California to visit my family that I have not seen for a couple of years. This is due to time management, lack of money, and the new unacceptable regulations at the busy airports. I just told my family that we are going to have to find a new mode of transportation such as the train, which would take longer, but it would be cheaper. The trip would be my ultimate gift to myself.

In material way, I also want to get laptop. But in spiritually I want to receive world peace. for me this is the best gift that I can give not only for myself but for all the people living in one planet.

Laptop was one of the things I've always wanted to give myself for quite a long time and finally when I got it, I was so happy. Right now, I wanted to treat myself to a full spa/ pampering and a one week vacation and go travel somewhere else. It's nice if I could give this to myself before the year ends especially with my busy schedule and loads of work to do. Also, if my finances would allow me too.

Once I bought this expensive pants, I really liked and I waited until my birthday, it was the only one time I think it felt good but it was too expensive and I could have 3 pants so I don't think I'll do that again. On Christmas though I won a laptop from my love, it's the best present ever. I don't think I need anything else.

If you are talking about a material gift, then I suppose I won't mind having an iphone. I have been eye-ing so many people holding one.
But if you do include non-material yet practical, I would love to have the gift of not wanting anything excepts needs. Wants are really too expensive. I definitely need to learn to be contented with life.

its not that hard to get a laptop if ull save for it..
my gift for myself would be a vacation in other countries, coz i love travelling- seeing other places, people and observing other cultures. it would also be an experienced based learning, another way of learning and educating oneself.:)

there are a lot of things i want for myself, but since i am a father already i am more focus to earn for my family. when i was single i bought everything i want, so its time to give my wife specially my son food and shelter. i am happy when i see them happy. praying is a regular thing here. my wife always lights a candle and say a little prayer for intentions. no matter if she knows the person or not. praying and hard work makes a person successful it is a good thing to teach your kids how to pray.

Hello!
It is nice of u to think of buying a rosary . It definitely will have good effect on your children. There are so many things I want to have. But I know everything will come to me when the GOD wants me to have that thing. But there is nothing wrong in wishing. I wish I could save enough to go abroad on a leisure trip along with my son.

You may also add a prayer guide or kids bible for your children. That is the best spiritual gift you can give to your kids and the best gift for you is to teach your kids how to get closer to God. As for me, i am not a materialistic type of person. Most of the time I give myself a treat my just going out with friends, eat, watch a movie or sometimes buy something that I really need. Right now, I am wanting to buy myself something that is needed at home. I wanted to give something to the new house we just transferred in. I know it's not mainly for myself but for the whole family. We are still adding new stuff at home so it's not nearly complete yet. Trying to earn more so I can give something that is really needed at home and that will surely last. Hopefully I can buy it soon.

I would buy myself either book or DVD as a gift. But I would want to buy a good house and golds for investment. So, I have a short term gifts to make keep me happy and a long term gift which I am working on it and I know that it will take years of hard working.

I buy myself DVD's and books. Those are the gifts for myself, especially the price and amount of DVD's that I buy. I can't think of any material objects that I need or want right now that I don't have. On christmas that gets me into trouble with my parents lol, my mom tells me, "you have to learn how to be gracious about getting gifts." I asked for some DVD's.
