Nooo, not a real Croc but those funny shoes, you know the ones I mean?
The other day her neighbour spoke to her (it was her yearly chat, she will now ignore her until March 2012) and told her that the ONLY shoes she should wear at work are GENUINE Crocs, not those awful plastic copies.
So, when I spoke to Mum earlier on the telephone I had instructions to "order some Crocs."
Oh, my, there are LOADS of styles on their official website, I never realised. However, I didn't pick the Classic ones as they will probably be a tad wide. I've ordered a more modern version instead, in Oyster with a pink trim/inner sole.
Lovely!
Do you think Crocs will be the answer to her prayers? She has been wearing work issue mules and she said she's like Quasi Modo as she can't lift her feet up properly as they "weigh too much" on her feet, therefore she has to drag them along the floor! She told me she's been "using the scraper" but "it hasn't worked" and her feet are suffering as she's on them a lot throughout the day. The balls of her feet burn after a while and she blames the footwear. I had a pair of mules once, they looked lovely but I couldn't wear them for very long for that same reason.
She's already sent back a pair of Hotter shoes she wasn't happy with. I only hope the Crocs meet her exacting standards.
Do you think they will?

So sorry. but my foot doctor does not like those shoes. I have great athletic shoes that I like. Also I have a knock off of some of those shapeup shoes. I think they are phenomenal for your posture. I end up with a taller straighter spine. I also have some orthotics in my shoes. My podiatrist says that I need to wear good athletic shoes most of the time. The crocs sound pretty, but they just do not provide the kind of support that you need especially if you have to be on your feet.

Lots and lots of people wear them though and swear by them for comfort. Even nurses. They are light weight, that is for sure.

Yes, this is what Mum doesn't like with her current mules..the weight of them. I shall let you know what she thinks of the Crocs when she's had a chance to test them out.

I'm going to give it about a 60% chance that she won't like something about them...

Haha! You're not the first person to say she'll find fault with them. We'll see! Should we have an interactive party if they're a success?

I think that the "standard" crocs are just about the ugliest shoes in the world. Do why do I have a pair? Because they are very comfortable, practical, hardwearing and will put up with any treatment. I bought mine in a sportshop for £10 a couple of years ago. They are bright red and it was only when i got them home I discovered that the cut out motif on the front uppers are in the shape of Mickey Mouse ears! Yes I had bought Disney themed shoes!! LOL. But what the heck, they still do the job. Mum will love them.

Haha! I take it they weren't genuine Crocs if you bought them for a tenner, or were they on offer? Disney eh? Good for you!
I do hope they are OK for her. They certainly looked good on the very slick website.

As much as she fancy this croc stuff, i think her comfort in these shoes must be given priority interms of weght, comfortability and above all, be properly fitting.

The old people hope that they don't lag behind times in wearing.I have no idea what the"it was her yearly chat, she will now ignore her until March 2012" means. What is yearly chat? Why It is until March 2012?

I was being sarcastic. I meant that Mum's neighbour only talks to her once a year as she ignores her the rest of the time. Every year she does this and no-one really knows why. I do know she suffers from depression but that shouldn't give her an excuse to be ignorant.

To be honest, I was amazed at the choice on the Crocs website, I really was. They don't just have the "ugly" looking shoes, they have flip-flops, allsorts really. You could try sitting in front of the screen with your "little one" to see which style he would like on their website. That's one thing I'd love to do with a child but I don't have one so I can't. Buying stuff on Mum's behalf makes up for it though.

I don't think Crocs are appropriate for working people who must be on their feet all day. I worked eight to twelve hours a day and was on my feet 80% of each shift and I had to have a good shoe with an arch support. Shoes should be made of good sturdy leather with heel support and arch support. If I didn't get a nurses' shoe, I bought a higher end walking shoe. Your mother may like the Crocs but I just don't think they will help with her foot troubles.

I like your little dragon. Very cute!
I shall give everyone an update once Mum has received and worn her shoes for a bit.
The only other kind of shoe I can think of are lightweight walking shoes. They have them on the Hotter website.
We shall see what transpires in the next few days.

I think they are lovely. I don't wear them myself, but my two daughters will not wear any other shoes.
I was not so keen on them when my mother-in-law bought a pair for my older daughter when she was just 1. I disliked the plastic and the design was not so great. Now, after seeing my daughters enjoying them so much, I have changed my mind about them.
I will buy one for myself in a few days time.

Here is how I see it, since she likes them so, she will feel like they are perfect. I personally do not because of lack of support on the feet. But again if she somehow likes them I think she will be fine with them.
Nothing is worse then not liking a pair of shoes, let it be that they do not attract and or don't quite fit right. So in her case sounds like she is going to enjoy them well.

She hasn't received them yet lol. I only ordered them last night but I do reckon she will like the lightness of them. Her current mules are far too heavy for her diddy feet.
