I find I am feeling short tempered today. I am tired of people saying "how do I earn here?" and other things like that.I am tired of people who have no interest except making money and promoting sites requesting me as friends. I want to be rude, but so far, I am avoiding it. This is not a productive place for me today. I am going to go cut out my downloaded coupons and go shopping. Of course, I would not feel so cranky if I would have another cup of coffee and eat something. How about you? Shall we eat some virtual donuts? Friends who do start real discussions, I appreciate you. I will be back after I take care of some of this day to day stuff.

Doughnuts - Time For A Cyber Doughnut break!
Oh gosh I know what you mean. I actually stopped and went to prep for dinner this early because I was finding myself repeating way too many responses. But a doughnut break right now sound good to me, I shall warn you though tomorrow we will all post how to loose some doughnut weight.

Hubby is on his way out for real pastries and pies, etc. I am going to be getting ready with some of the things I will take to my brother's house for Easter. I think I said this earlier, but this is certainly a refreshing discussion.

Making friends is what stuck out to me. I had the idea of being able to allow someone to become your friend on Facebook and invariably just about everyone said it was a bad idea. If the idea of making friends here is a good one (and I think it is) then I don't understand the reluctance to actually know the 'real' person that one responds to everyday! I left MyLot for a long time and am now just here 'part time' and I KNOW this site could be so much better. But from what I can see it's the best of what they do and hence the reason I stay. Zelo

Hey, I knew you were gone for quite a while. Glad to see you back. I do have friends here on MyLot. I have even been to visit some of them. I will be connecting with a friend when she comes this way on vacation next month.. I have laughed with people and cried with some, and the friendships are real. You can see as you look through this discussion what a great bunch of people are here. I think there is always room for improvement, on any site.

Knowing your love of ice cream I might ask if you ever warm a doughnut slightly and put a big scoop of ice cream in the middle of it?

I have never done the doughnut thing per-se but I have had a lot of other things with ice cream. The reason for the 'love' of ice cream is when I WAS active I was #1 in the discussions about ice cream. I come back I'm at 6 and now I think I'm 9th. It's something fun to talk about and everyone all around the world loves to enjoy. I need to go now I apologize... Dunkin' Donuts is open only so late and I need to try that delectable treat of yours. Zelo

Do these people think that mylot is where they find a bunch financial gurus? I am bored too with such repetitive discussions that has always become the maiden discussion for many newbies. Mylot as many are aware is a social networking site that pays its members for posting and responding to discussions. Posting quality topics of discussion is the way of making money here and any further doubts should check on the guidelines which are self explanatory.

Yes, participating in discussions is how we earn, and if people would read the guidelines or even the other posts they would know this for a fact. Not all Newbies post that first. I met someone today in this discussion who only has a rank of 9 and has not asked that yet. It is a good feeling. Did you want some virtual refreshment? Many have popped in and out of this discussion and it is refreshing because they are talking about all sorts of other things. I have not seen a whole lot of you lately, how are you doing?

I was just thinking today that it has been ages since I made a sponge cake. I used to make one in a tube pan and then fill it with icecream and cover it with ice cream as well. That was my "fancy dessert" when I was a newly wed.

Hi GG, I would love to have virtual coffee and donuts with you....Sounds delicious! Yes, there is a lot of talk about money here and it can be annoying but I think that is usually what lures people here in the 1st place. Hopefully, it will die down. Getting out and getting some fresh air should be good for you. I will be going out to run some errands in a few myself so when you come back, hopefully, there will be some interesting and wonderful things to talk about and discuss. Feel better, my friend.

Been there done that many times. A lot of times it really depends on the type of mood I am in, and the type of people posting here at the time as well. It can be quite annoying and frustrating when you see some of these type of discussions in here all the time that you know are against the rules and the people who often continue to request you as a Friend just to spam you. Personally if some of these things could change this would be a better place for all to be for sure.

Oh, it was a combination of many things. I hope your school work is going well. I took my own usual advice about "if you do not like the discussions, start one." I got shopping done that I have been putting off all week. I did a good job and saved a lot of money. We also just had a hailstorm blow through. When that is happening I know I get rather short. So far I have managed not to be a real meany here. Have a donut while you study, or maybe we could start out on some other yummy stuff as well.

I am glad you are doing better and you didn't become a real meany...lol Yeah, I got my schoolwork done, but when I started into next weeks math to get it out of the way because my English instructor warned us that next week will be intense and if we could start early, we should. Except I can't get the math out of the way, because we are getting into variables and I am getting really confused and lost.. But, I have all day tomorrow, if I can finish most of my math, I can start on my English early.. Now as for the doughnut, the kind I mentioned are hard to find, (at least around here) plus they are fattening unless it is a virtual one, but a virtual one isn't as tasty.. So my husband is picking up KFC for dinner, that will have to be my treat for the week..:)

When I am tooling around and trying to find discussions and run across those money-making promotions, I just tool right back out and open up a book. I will read between my postings. I hate to waste time and waiting in the middle of the night for worthwhile discussions could be a big time waster. I went shopping today and am still in shock from the increased prices. A can of generic mushrooms has gone up to $0.75 and they're not even a quality mushroom!! I ended up getting only half of what was on my list. This perturbs me to no end.

I know things are up in prices, but I download coupons, and check the sale paper, and to be honest, most of my meat purchases are "reduced for quick sale". I forgot a number of things today, and there are some offers I still will want to take advantage of. I got over $100 worth of groceries and spent $70. We earn point with those purchases that allow us to save money on gasoline. It had been a while since we had shopped. Cynthiann, should I send you some extra seeds to feed your neighbors?

The tension on the Island in which I live is mounting daily because of massive increases in the price of food, electricity and gas. Strikes are on the horizon and I am not sure where it will end. Peacefully I hope. I do get ground produce from our farm and even around my house I have plantain and banana trees and all sorts of herbs. am going to plant more food stuff though as everything is being stolen of the farm. The people are hungry.

I do not always use coupons, but I have a couple of programs that reward me for printing and redeeming coupons. Here is a secret: I do not use them all, sometimes I put them on the shelves so that others will get the savings. I still get the points or pennies. In my store they were having an offer of a $5 gift card if you buy 4 boxes of certain cereals. I have savings coupons for the cereals, and my store will double or increase the coupon up to $1. Those cooking shows can certainly make you want to eat, or at least sample everything.

I'm cranky too. I responded to your response to me re labour.I was inspired.I thought that it was an excellent response but then something happened to compute ( all sorts of messages rapidly appeared) so only God knows where it has ended up. You read my mind. I was just thinking of making a cup of coffee as I ate my lunch sandwich at 10.15 this morning. I don't have any doughnuts and my car is sick again and so I cannot get out. But here - do you want a banana?

Nope, don't know of apple bananas. Where I am, we just see the yellow bananas in the groceries. Never thought of eating them any way other than in fruit salads, puddings, breads, etc. I take a daily Omega-3 supplement and a vitamin supplement to help me decrease the liklihood of heart attack or stroke. Eat lots of garlic and onions which help with that as well.

Do you know the little apple bananas? They are lovely but oh so small. Ripe bananas are so good for us because of the high potassium levels. Dr's are ow saying that three a day can decrease threat of strokes and heart attacks. I love bananas and also boil green bananas and eat them. Wondeful mashed with gravy. I only acquired that taste when I loved to this Island. Wasn't too keen at first but now love them.

Hi, vickirod, welcome to MyLot. I know about the economy. Both hubby and I are out of work. I am currently getting unemployment, he is not eligible. We have some small sources of income, but I work hard on earning online as well. I am not usually so cross, but it has been said that Mylot gets misrepresented on the forum as a get rich quick place, but it is not. The other thing is that the people who have asked this question do not read the guidelines and actually the discussion they post, asking things that they can look up themselves often gets deleted and all the responses with it. I am enjoying this discussion a lot, because people are visiting and commenting all over the place. It is an easy way to chat and earn. I am hoping you are having a wonderful cup of coffee and some donuts as well.

Peoples observations on their life and customs in other countries are fascinating, so your place or mine for that donut? My back garden is quite warm in the april sun and I still have some lovely daffodils still in bloom. Must be something in the air.. I've been in a foul mood lately as well. In school we do these weekly discussions, and the professor gives us a topic to discuss, usually somehow linked to the classwork. Well this week one of the things we have to discuss is the distribution of wealth. As you can imagine this has started some heated arguments between those who hate and are jealous of the rich, and those who feel as if the rich have worked hard (or one of their ancestors did) to get where they are. This discussion led to so many arguments and of course they get completely off topic. and it irritated me. I'm allowed my views and opinions same as anyone else. The classroom isn't the place to argue about whether or not people diserve to be rich. And I guarantee you that each of the people who are arguing the point would feel completely differently if they themselves were rich!

hi katsmeow that reminds me of my granda who always said" ah yes the grass is always greener, on the other side of the fence" meaning while we might be able to pay our bills and afford a thrifty car, we still sometimers envy the rich guy with the Rolls Royce althought the man has cancer and may not' make it much more than a year longer. He meant lets be content with what we have and not envy our neighbors. I know some pretty wealthy people whose lives I wou ld never trade with at all. so money is not everything at all. I would rather be as I am than really rich and cranky and ornery and have no friends and am always ill. money again just is not everything in life.

Hi GardenGerty, I am 2 days late with this response, I do hope it find you feeling better. I would like to say calm down and don't let the devil steal your joy he(the devil) is busy doing what he does best and that is to destroy things anyway and any how he (the devil) can. Take a stand against those fiery darts that are being thrown at you. If you have a tendency to let things irritate you decide to overcome them. Arm yourself against them with the knowledge that the world isn't perfect, that there are people in it that aren't going to be nice.People will stir you up and annoy you on purpose or by accident. In any case make your mind up that they are not going to get your peace. Be Blessed.

Just thought maybe I could learn something from there. I guess there are advantages and disadvantages of having those discussions. Yes, I agree that we do get irritated sometimes seeing too many of such discussions. Just skip them and go to the next one, that's what I always do. I'll have one of your virtual donuts, thanks! I hope that it's still fresh since it was offered yesterday. I was late. Hope you enjoy your day.
