so my mother and father went to the vet. the doctor told them that pluto has a UTI and the infection unfortunately went up to his liver causing it to swell. he also has heartburn which explains the vomiting. he was given an antibiotic shot on top of the pill that he is to take everyday, a GERD medicine and a drug for his swollen liver. the vet advised us to let him eat baby food since he does not have any appetite and we wil just place it in his mouth if a 10 ml syringe.
on the lighter side, he does not lay on his bed all day anymore, he ambulates fairly well, he barks like he used to but he does not play. he just wants to be petted and he does not respond to our usual roughhousing which means i have to be gentle on him now. i can see it his eyes that he really feels sick but tries to be well for the family. he walks to and fro around the house but on a melancholic fashion. he does not clean the other 2 dogs' ears like he used to do which i guess is too much effort on him already.
overall, he is doing better now that he has taken his meds. i do hope he will get back in shape sooner. my brother even posted a get well soon status with pluto's picture in Facebook. we so want him to barking louder than ever in our house again!

He had the infection too long and it moved to other parts of his little body, poor baby. But he will get better now that he has meds. I'm glad that he is up and about now and "talking" as usual that lets you know he is on the mend and feeling better.
Thank goodness you got him to the vet in time before he got even worse.

hi moondancer!
yeah we we're thankful we made the right decision of taking him to the vet. i had to sacrifice my 1 whole week of transportation allowance to buy him the meds and it was money well spent. i don't wanna get broken hearted again in just 2 months interval! i don't want to lose someone again (may it be pet).

My pets are my family, they are my babies. Just as my children are my children so are they. I will do what I must to keep them well. I have taken my food money for whatever to take them to the vet when need be. They have to be taken care of. I love my babies.

Just be sure to give him all of the medication that is provided. People tend to stop taking the meds when they start feeling better but that leaves them prone to the ailment coming right back. Same with dogs and cats. You don't want a recurrence because you failed to give the full gamut of meds.
I'm glad the Pluto is getting better. With so much wrong with him, it may take a while until he is back to his usual self so care and patience will be key.
