I have problem which is called dandelion! They everywhere in my garden. they looks cool, but they ruin my garden plants.
What to do with them?
Each year i just tried to mowing them with a trimmer. That's working, but how long they will continue to widen in my garden.
I have read about some sort of spraying with chemical agents like "Starane" which only kills dandelions and similar weeds while grassland remains intact. But then again what about effects on other plants in the garden?
Confused and need some support, help.

The Evil Weeds
Dandelions are weeds with very long roots. It is the roots of most weeds that are the problem both you and your plants face. Lopping off their tops does little to solve this problem.
One way to solve the dandelion dilemma is via herbicide, carefully applied so it doesn't kill the other plants. Read the directions with great care.
The other, safer way is more work but kinder to the more delicate plants within the garden. Yank your intruders by their roots. Grab the dandies by their roots, as close to the dirt as possible, slowly pulling the plant, getting as much root as possible. Keep in mind that dandelions have long, long roots.

Now i am happy because it is over - dandelion flowers is gone from my garden field. Though they are there, but they are not blooming right now.

I don't know much about dandelions except that the greens are good to put into salads when they are fairly young. I have always heard that you've got to get the root to get rid of a dandelion plant. And those roots can go deep. So you may have to get a spoon and dig down under each one to get them all. I would put the cuttings in a plastic bag so the fuzzies don't blow all over and seed new plants.
On a lighter note, you might want to read this old discussion.

remove them with their roots before they flower. i think you can get a tool that removes deep rooted weeds very quickly and easily. you push it over the dandelion and twist or something. otherwise dig them up (great exercise) or at least keep them trimmed down so they can't flower. the leaves taste like spinach - quite nice if you want to use them without too much fuss.

Today i will drive to my garden after work and trim them off, but that not resolving this problem. If i would want to remove dandelion roots using such a tool, then i must spend all summer to do it since they are billions in my garden right now!

Dandelion is a perennial herb with deep roots. It is hard to completely do away with it unless you pull up by the root. However I feel that it would be a pity to root out them, because I was engaged in Traditional Chinese Medicine before retirement. The dandelion is a very good Chinese herbal medicine which contains dandelion sterols, choline, inulin, etc.The whole plant is used for treating upper respiratory infection, conjunctivitis, chronic gastritis, hepatitis, cholecystitis, urinary tract infection and so on.
