unless, of course, it took off on its own... But I doubt it. Still, pretty enterprising thieves to steal something this big, heavy and... eye catching... http://io9.com/5811584/little-girls-tardis-stolen-from-her-front-yard I don't know about you, but I will be looking for it and contacting them if it shows up around here! How about you? Or would you be tempted to put it in the back yard and keep it?

I'd seen the word before, but didn't have a clue what it was until I read the article. Obviously, I don't watch Dr. Who. LOL It definitely took some balls to take something that large and expect no one to notice it when you got it home!! Although, that's probably where it is - IN their home. Word will get out, though. If they got it for their kid, then that kid's friends will say something to someone because a secret with kids is as good as being broadcast. Keep us posted on whether it's found.

I'm a big Whovian too, (in fact, in the leader board, I'm #2). I would love one of my own, but not enough to even CONSIDER stealing it and I would SO turn them in!!!

Although I dearly love the color blue, I would return the Tardis to the little girl in Oklahoma should it happen to materialize anywhere near here. My guess would be that it had gone to a Dr. Who convention, but I will not second guess.

that's just it, I don't know of any Whoish cons right now - at least around these parts...

I agree with Gerty..maybe someone "borrowed" it for a Dr. Who convention. They just had a big one in Atlanta a few weeks ago. Of course, stealing is stealing and to steal from a little girl is terrible! Apparently you can't have anything unique anymore...it is a shame.

Omg.... do these idiots really think they can hide such a thing?! Dumb dumb and dumb!! Not to mention mean mean VERY mean!! How can anybody do that to a child? They had to have known what it was for and that it wasn't real. Who ever stole it, I hope they're caught and spend some jail time. To answer your question, hell no, I wouldn't have it in my yard!! LOL No, no, no..... But if I had kids, I'd have something like it at their bus stop to keep them out of the weather's rainy day.

I've seen other bus shelters in my time, but none so awesome! I would love to have one in my yard, but I would have that so locked up because around here, it would soon be some where else!

Whoever stole it must not be dealing in reality. How could anyone steal something so big and eye catching and hope not to be caught. If it were anywhere outside someone would see it, and it is too big to be inside. What would they want it for anyway? It makes you wonder how people can be so dumb.

I am going to guess that it is a kid or group of kids. I can remember when it was the rage to try to tow away those Photo Huts or whatever they were called. No reason, just doing it to do it. It is summer time and time for stupid tricks.

That is a good question - I'll bet they take it some place, maybe film a bit around it and then abandon it...

I'd like to think it has been hijacked for an essential plot to save the world and is on a time/space continuum journey. Hopefully it will be returned prior to it being stolen and we can all look back on this post as never happened at all. :)

I like your theory, we'll see if it shows up and we all realize we'd just misplaced it...

Wow. It weighs 300 pounds so it took more than one person to get it. That is ridiculous how people think they have a right to steal stuff from other people. If I seen it, I would report it to the police so it can be returned.

It would behoove the little girl's family to go to the media regarding such a brazen theft. She would either get her property back or get a replacement of her treasure. Not all adults are incarnations of the Grinch. It would also give the media types one heck of a story by-line.

Having been robbed twice myself in my old house and large appliances taken right out the front door in broad daylight and not a soul see. Does not surprise me that the tardis was taken. When I had the appliances moved in when purchased brand new it took removing the hinges and still could not get in the front door. So for thieves to accomplish this and quietly too, now nothing surprises me. Sad too because they do not care what and who anything belongs too. I see it costs $300 to build, I do hope they get caught as they will not be able to hide it forever without it being noticed someday.

Yeah, never had appliances stolen, but I actually knew of a family who went on vacation and came home to an EMPTY house! Someone just backed up a moving van and cleaned them out! I hope they get caught soon and the girl can have her bus stop/Tardis back!

No, the contest was international because I entered a snow tardis and I live in NC. The winner was an wooden ice shanty.

I don't know what is wrong with some people. I agree with their first instinct. It should have been chained up. I thought of putting a porch swing in the yard of my apartment building, and if it weren't for some idiotic neighbours of mine who'd probably never let me use it, I'd do it, and I'd chain it to the side of the gate! LOL No question about it, I'd chain that thing up.

isn't that just the case! and some times it seems the crazies are running the asylum! nice thing about a yard, you can do your own thing in it!

I would definitely return it, she and her dad worked hard on it and to have it stolen must have been a terrible blow to her faith in humanity. We know how rotten people can be but it's a shame to learn that lesson at her tender age.

Really, and I'm sure that since she lives in the country, she'd feel somewhat safer than if she were a "big city" gal like me. I hate thieves!

I wouldn’t have a problem with something like that in my yard if it made my child happy. Fancy someone stealing it! Honestly they will take just about anything! How on earth the thieves are expecting to keep the thing hidden is beyond me! The other question is why? I hope they find it…

I know, people will steal the most stupid things... we have a couple of chairs in the front yard and the other roomie was afraid someone would steal them, but with the across the street neighbor outside most of the time, and someone here almost all the time, I really rather doubt it - and... now I can use them because I couldn't in the back because the dogs would jump on me.
