I am no longer a facebok "addict!"

I used to stay online for 5-7 hours a day just for facebook. Now I use the internet to learn new things or earn some extra money. I still visit my facebook account everyday but I only use it for less than an hour, usually just to answer some messages from my friends, to comment on my friends status or change my status. I no longer waste my time playing games as I realized that I won't get anything from them even if I play them the whole day. I think lots of people are also realizing that it is such a waste of time playing those games. I'd rather use the Internet or the computer to improve my typing skills. How about you guys, are you still as "addicted" to facebook as you were before?

Oh, I've been a regular facebook visitor for months; perhaps years even. But now, I rarely visit this site, other than to check my messages and my wall. You'll usually see me in forums and social sites that pay.

Yes, I agree. It's better to spend our time in sites that will pay us while we enjoy sharing our thoughts. Thanks for the response. =)

I agree, I used to stay online for a long time because I am not that busy, now it's impossible to stay online that long because I usually spend my time sleeping after a hard day's work. Thanks for the response.

When i first play facebook games, i was really thrilled because my officemates are playing the same game with me and there's something to talk about in the office other than work but i got tired of it and now i am using fb only to promote a website, product or services and to regularly get in touch with my family and relatives.

Wow, a quarter of a day in Facebook?! :))
Well, as for me, I'm not really a Facebook addict though I play some games for fun and to pass the time. :)

Unfortunately I'm still an addict there :(. Well I cut down the number of games I'm playing but I still go there every single day and I spend at least 4-5 hours a day. Give me your formula please, how did you got over the desire to log in and play your games? Don't tell me that it's only because you cannot earn from it. Other than myLot I still haven't found any paying site on the net and I'm around for more than 2-3 months already :(.
So how did you do it?

Well, as I have said, the slow downloading of games was the reason why I lost interest in facebook. However, now that Timeline is there, I think I'll spend more time again on Facebook, just what I am doing now. I love the new facebook!

It is so amazing that you had ever spent such long time on Facebook before. I am a member of Facebook but I am not addicted to it. I am not even very interested in it. Since Facebook is blocked in my country, so I don't have many friends who are active there. It seems it is a social networking for my foreign friends mainly. So I lost my interest, too.
I love China

So it was blocked in China? I was never this addicted to a social networking until facebook came. I had my Friendster since 2003 but I have never spent even half hour on that site. Anyway, I am just so happy that I am no longer addicted to facebook. Thanks for the response. =)

I used to play games on Facebook at the initial stages of my encounter, however now I use it for interaction with friends and clients only, in an attempt to get more sales for my business. Other than that, I'm out of there in a jiffy.
I'm aware that you can get hooked on Facebook, but as long as you know how to divide your time carefully, it should not pose any problems. But 5-7 hours on Facebook is a bit too much.

Yes, it is just wasting precious time that I should have used doing something more important.

Five to seven hours a day spent on Facebook is a big, big waste of time. It is not worth wasting time in that site. I do have a Facebook account but I don't indulge too much on that site. I only use that to send very important messages and greetings if necessary. I never indulge in playing there either although I've received invitations I've ignored all those.
Well, nice to know that you've finally realized Facebook is not worth such long time. There are so many ways to use the net in more profitable and productive ways and I'm glad you've finally realized it.

Yeah it's usually the games that get you addicted. I used to obsess over my games even though I've only ever played two of them. I stopped playing but I still find myself on edge about every status update.
I can't say that I'm addicted to Facebook but I'm definitely a fan. I love the idea of networking and connecting with people. When the Philippines was hit with a flood, we kept each other updated about places that needed help or friends who were stranded. I think that's one of the best things about Facebook. You'll get the news on tv or the radio but you get to know the needs of the community around you.
Facebook is really great if used carefully and responsibly, in my opinion. Congratulations on your being free from Facebook addiction! lol :)

Yes, you are definitely right! Facebook is also one of the best place to get fresh and important information especially during Ondoy days.

Not anymore!! I find it so boring. But I do still check it everyday but I don't spend so much time on it anymore. We are the same, I am spending most of my time looking for extra money online. I think this is more productive.

Yes, this is more productive. Although it's really difficult to find sites where to I can earn extra money, right?

Good for you! I've been there before too. I was an addict in Mafia Wars that I even set my alarm to be able to use my energy and stamina points efficiently! Also I idle there and wasted a lot of time just looking and looking. I realized that I wasn't becoming any productive that's why I tried to deviate myself from it by doing other things. Being busy helps against my addiction to Facebook. Now I am addicted to myLot. But this is a different thing because I earn and learn a lot from here compared to Facebook.

I'm happy to say I spend only a few minutes on facebook a day and I don't even catch up with people on facebook chat anymore, I figure there's always telephones for that.

I never enjoyed chatting in Facebook even with Yahoo messenger. I was addicted to Facebook because of the games and the easy way to get in touch with my friends.

I never really liked Facebook and I am only there because one of my jobs requires it. I can't fathom spending long hours on their games, which earn nothing, when you can surf on over to another site and make money. It might only be a few cents sometimes, but it's better than getting nothing. I also don't like the security and overall attitude at Facebook. Way to go for realizing it is waste or time and using the computer for better things!
