I'm sure it couldn't hurt unless you're reading somebody else's bad English

My mother tongue is Hungarian and I have learned English mostly from TV. But I have improved my English knowledge at school and high school also. Mylot has improved a lot the way I write in English, but it hasn't improved my spoken English.

Yes! Definitely! With continued practicing and experiencing of the English language through communication and interaction in discussions here in myLot, English capability can be vastly improved. It is like learning something. The more you are exposed to it, the easier it is for you to understand the whole thing and use it. Also, by observing how the other myLotters from all over the world use the English language, one can definitely learn a thing or two about the use of certain words, expression and grammar regarding the English language.

Absolutely, but I think not just in Mylot we can improved our English language. Reading a book, watch news or movie (without looking translation text), talk to foreign people etc also help us to improved our English. I still remember when I in Junior School and/or high school. I'm the most stupid student in school (specially on English lesson). But it change when I go to college. They pushed me to read a lot of English book and talk to foreign people.

I believe myLOt can improve my English as this is my second language not first. I try to do my best but I realize that I will never speak as good as natives British people. I know since I stepped into myLot my writing English is better.

yes, of course I do believe we can improve our english here in mylot. We read a lot of english sentences, it can improve our grammar and vocabulary. Moreover if we response to the discussion. It can also increase our bravery to practice our English.

I know how hard it must be for the ones that do not speak English to be an active part on Mylot. I have a great deal of respect for the effort they make. I think that it helps every one with their English, even the ones that already speak English sometimes. Your right...English is not a very easy language. It changes all the time and there are constantly new words added and taken out of it. I think you are doing a great job! Take care.

Hi adhyz: I'm from Mexico so english is not my mother tongue and from my own experience I can tell you that Mylot really can help you to improve your english level because you have to make your best to express your ideas in english adn at the same time you are reading long structured speeches by other members and you can keep a conversation with them. hi there adhyz82, for me, all i can say is, i have really improve my grammar when i have joined mylot. because of this site, i have expounded my vocabulary. and not only that, i was able to develop my self esteem in terms of communication.

I think I have answered a similar question before and my answer is still the same. Yes, Mylot helps us develop our knowledge of the global language because it is what we are using to discuss here. Practice makes it perfect. And also, many members here are very intelligent and we learn a lot from their discussions.

Believe Mylot has proved that this nice world(mylot) improve the english very much take my example previously i'm not much good in writing skill of english but now i won't say that i improved fully but yeah better than few years ago prior to come this world. I'm very much thankful to the creator of mylot..

Hi Adhyz....!. I think we all good basic in English when we first come here. And yes mylot help us getting better and learn new word every day. I think its also teach us courage to speak our mind in many subject, something we rarely had in real life because we usually use our mother tongue in daily conversation. So Mylot giving place to sharpen it. Its giving courage to speak to foreigner in real life and making friend with few of them. Its open doors to many possibilities.

Yes adhyz I believe mylot can improve my English as well as my typing also.. So I love mylot and spend some free time mostly I am busy in offline work but for sometime join mylot... English is really though subject and my English is very weak... I accept it..

of course,it is a good platform to improve english. By this,i learn how to use english proficiently in writing. hehehe,just better than before. But it can't improve my listening and oral ability. i know any website can't attain that demand. in order to improve my english,i need other practice,such as listen more and speaking more. hehe. how do you improve your english all the aspects?

Mylot is a good training ground for people to improve their English. When we read written words in English everyday in mylot and respond to the same, we will be able to slowly acquire the proficiency of the native speakers. I think I have not only improved my English but have boost my confidence in communicating in this language.

I have been a member for a while and I have seen several of my non English speaking friends’ English language skills improve a lot. Communicating with others is the best way to learn and practice a new language and what better place to do it than MyLot where we gain new friends and a few pennies as a bonus!

hi, i am an active member here since last 2010,and i could say that this site really improved my English language,and aside from that i have learned and found some words and their meanings and used it in a sentence.and now i could say that i can now create a good english paragraph or sentence.

Yes, in my opinion, I do think that MyLot can help improve a person's English language. I think it's because there are so many topics we can all read on and then to respond to and to start a topic on. All these play an important part in constructing our sentences and how we express our thoughts, etc
