What is going on? Today I have noticed several people with one or two thousand next to their names asking typical newbie questions. One has supposedly been here five years but doesn't understand that payments are updated once a day!
Have you noticed this?
I hope the admin is taking notice,

Maybe they were having a "senior moment" or a "brain fa*t" you know a major DUH moment. Or perhaps they never ever bothered to read the faqs or rules. Who knows.

Jealousy is not part of my program at all anywhere, online or off.
I tried to point out your error but now you are on the defensive and pointing fingers. That says it all

Perhaps they are just asking those questions so that they have something to discuss about.maybe they have run out of things to say that is why they ask those. It is also possible that they know that they will get a lot of response from those kinds of questions. I am a newbie and I am afraid to asks questions so I just lurk around the answers from others that seem to know what they are saying and doing here.

Many of the Lotters who "seem to know what they are saying and doing here" started off as newbies by lurking "around the answers from others that seem to know what they are saying and doing here" and look where it got them
Welcome aboard!

Maybe they are just here once in a while after so many years being a member and they wonder if there is something new with Mylot. I will not be surprised anymore why people posts same questions again and again from "whats your favorite color?" to payments in Mylot, most of them really don't read the FAQ's of Mylot.

I noticed this as well and it seems these people if you go back into their comments were posting over a hundred a day and not replying to anyone. It seems they got paid and move on but have come back in hope of earning it "big" here. A newbie should not be defined by posts but rather by ability to comprehend and adapt to this site. Let's hope things get better in the coming weeks or some of these "old newbies" remember their origins.

Actually what I have noticed is not that perhaps that they think there are changes, but actual questions that any member new and or older, should know can be answered in the FAQ. I don't understand the basic questioning but do my best to make sure that I point them in the right direction.
What saddens me though is that not only are they asking these simple questions that can easily be found, but it is causing many to enter such discussions with wrong information and also suggesting guideline violations.
If the intent is to post to simply post to earn this is completely wrong way to go about it. I spent hours yesterday chasing after new members who were confused and posting about what the older members were suggesting, posting about and wrong given information.
I do realize that it is a choice for me to help and or correct anyone, so I don't get upset over doing so, but I feel that if no one corrects and or guides, what will become of myLot?

It is such a vicious cycle here unfortunately. No matter how much effort we apply there is always someone suggesting to break guidelines. Out of desperation some entertain the suggestions and well, I at least feel that I did my duty and the rest is up to them.

I haven't seen that I don't think.. That's crazy though. if they had that many posts I have no idea how they wouldn't notice the earnings are updated once a day. It didn't take me that long to learn the FAQs, it certainly shouldn't take years.

Well, it could be someone who has not posted here in a really long time, and just came back, or someone who is New taking over someone else's account. Usually it does not bother me, or seem to notice, because I have seen New people lately in here posting that seem to know everything and they could have been people here with other names as well.

Alright, now you definitely have my interest, Zone. I am a little curious why a guy has the desire to shave another guy, but most of me just wants to watch you shave Peter.

Hello peter, What's going is that some of these people have gone out of mylot for far too long that they forget even the simplest do's and don'ts in the guidelines. don't get wrong but I still make mistakes even as of year. if they are going to get familiarized again, they need to stay here long enough. that reminds me, maybe i should copy the guidelines, and the faq, then have it printed. who knows i can do better with the guidelines on my side

This just proves my belief that age is not necessarily directly related to the amount of knowledge a person has.

LOL! That may be true, but we both know that you are not one of them.

As log as it is the matter of payment, people should know them well, than anything else. I think they are still having the problem as the timing for the refreshment keep changing. How I noticed is that, earlier my payment for a day was updating around 10:00 at night time, I used to see the changing time. And after few months, I was totally out of it and these days, the change of figures happening around 8-8:15. This time difference must be the confusing factor. However, the person who is here for 5 years should know these basic things as well.
Thank-s

Hello Petersum,
Moral of the story " People find it difficult to read FAQs & guidelines".
There is no harm in asking questions from old memebers like newbies ask as they have right to do so but would not it be better to read the guidelines where also we can find the answers of our questions and it would be better to get our querries solved from there than asking here as some one may give wrong information.

Well, hopefully no one had thier feelings hurt. This discussion almost started to flame up, but I see there are some real experienced members here who know how to turn the tide and keep the beach safe to swim.
I am a mewbie and have been unable to find anything about the rating system and what these stars mean with numbers in them. I could hardly believe that my 9 star is a rating above someone thats been here for years, with say, a 7 or 8 and thousands of points when I have a mere 160 (so I will not assume that). I hope my increasing star number is not a sign that I am nearing being banned for something. So, now that I mentioned it and it does seem like a dumb question but fits this topic: Where is there FAQ on the stars and rating system? I am a newbie and can not find it!
Don't be snickering at me,hahaha, I know I am still under that 500 benchmark (rank?) that allows you to post with your clipboard. I also know that the answer is here somewhere.

Oops! Not watching my old discussions - naughty me! Sorry PoppaDave for the delay.
http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx tells you a lot of stuff about ratings.
I'm still fairly low in the rankings because I open my mouth and say what I feel. Some people don't like that. Well, I don't care. I'm happy to be an honest eight.
