The craft shed is complete - oh, the ramp and deck still have a few things that need to be done, but the shed itself is DONE!!!
Here's the link to the entire project, with the last pictures what was done yesterday.

I do need to go out and take the tools out, but today I put the first row of corks on the door to make my "cork door" - that's kind of like a cork board, but its one of the doors.
It took J longer than he expected to finish it off because there were some issues with that old problem with wayward studs, but he figured it out.
Think I'll take a box or two and sort tools and get them out of my way.
I've got a couple of becoming urgent sewing projects that I can now knock out as soon as I get my sewing machine out there... maybe after work tomorrow.
On the other hand, I packed a couple more boxes in the front room so even that isn't being totally neglected.
So, you guys may be seeing less of me while I try to take care of my sewing/xmas projects!
Hope you had as productive a weekend as we did!

It is a beautiful craft shed, now comes the packing and cleaning. It is great when things work out well, no matter how hard it was to do. I am helping my family renovate a home, but the people who were there before left such a mess, we cleaned and cleaned several bags full of rubbish and it barely made a dent, that is frustrating but it will get there.
I had never seen a full cork door before, I am going to make a matt though to place outside to put the boots on

I will admit when you said cork door something like this popped in my head

only after did I realize you meant a cork lining which is both handy and prevents the dissipation of heat. It is a great insulating material. It looks very good the hard work paid off.

They did a good job. It's looks really nice and will be well lit with the white walls so working on projects will be easier.
I bet it was hot out there! You will be needing and air conditioner and heater too soon. They do have window units that have both. They are nice to have.
This has been a long project that you can enjoy now.
I wish I had a nice work space, and get away from everyone for a bit like that. One day maybe but not soon. Too many other things that are needed.
Make sure to pop back in and show us what you make.

Your link won't let me connect. I tried twice.

I thank you for your gracious offer, but I have to say "No, thank you." My husband has said "No more cats." He indicated that it was just too hard when we had to put down first Johnny, then Sleepy . I have not tried to change his mind because an affectionate cat is frequently underfoot, and Clay is not that steady on his feet at times. I would hate for him to trip over a cat, fall and break a bone. As thin as he is (He only weighs around 100 lbs.), I doubt that he would recover from a major break. I 'd love to have another cat, but due to circumstances, I do not think it a good idea. In fact, I think it a BAD idea. Boo Hoo!

I did a product demo yesterday. Was supposed to have one today, and went, but no product. So, since I had already missed church, I went and looked through some stuff in the attic, emptied some items in the attic access closet, I FOUND a box of four patch squares I was putting together sometime. Not even sure when. They are big blocks, and twenty six are assembled. I have a bunch more half sewn or ready to assemble. I may find I have a quilt to tie soon. Maybe for one of my kids for Christmas. I am glad your project is finished and I bet it feels really good to say that.

You must feel a sense of achievement or fullfillment in completing such a big project. A craft shed is a fantastic idea. I tried to look at your link, but as I am using my work computer, it wont let mwe look properly at facebook.
It is useful to have all your craft gear organised, as with being involved in variety of projects can mean searching for what you need is much easier.
My daughter does a reasonable amount of craft and is only partially organised. Some of her gear is in the shed, some in a chest, and some in crates.

That is fabulous! It is always nice to have a place to go to spend time doing our crafts. I want a home school room or building that my daughter and I can go to when we are doing school so that the phone doesn't interrupt us and we have all of our stuff together.

Wonderful! I loved seeing how it was all coming along, it looks great! We will miss if you we don't see you for a bit, but get those projects out of the way first, the renovations and the crafting!
Oh and I saw your comment about being the old fat one... You are not old and you are not fat! You're aged gracefully and healthy.. that's how I see it.

Congratulations on finally getting it done! You did a good job! It looks more like another room than a shed. It will be nice to have a place to do your craft projects. I envy you! My house is so small, there is only 1 bedroom so I keep everything by the couch.

I am, as you can probably tell, pretty excited about it...
The roomie thought we should just take it easy today, but I feel like I need to do a little around the front room, I've actually packed a couple of boxes, stuff we had previously found, but didn't get into sealed boxes... still have another box I could easily pack yet, tho there are still 3 in front of my desk that I need to do the sorting work on.

Oh wow it looks awesome and congrats on a well done job!
I had a quiet start for my weekend but was able to go out today and complete an assignment for which I got paid very well for doing so. I was also one of the 50 who was selected for an additional hour which then paid me double.
So all in all my weekend was awesome. I am glad that the shed is finally done and you can then move on to other projects.

I am too! We pretty much took most of September off because the nephew hurt his foot, but we knew it would only be one more day's worth of work.
Less actually, he also cleaned the gutter from the spa porch out (it was growing baby trees!) He moved dirt and leaves over the exposed roots of trees, built that pail "bean bag toss" arrangement and it seems to me a few other things...

Aha - here is the discussion where you define the cork door. I'm going through my notifications in reverse order, so I'm finding this stuff after the fact. Now, if you'd like to do another shed project, feel free to come to New Jersey and I'll put you to work in our tiny back yard!! LOL

That is SO AWESOME! I'm so happy for you now that you have a really nice place to do your crafting. Oh, how I wish I had one like that! Lucky you!!!
I had a craft room here that is really the middle-sized bedroom but since I'm sleeping here now and it is basically my bedroom, I've had to move some of my craft things into my office, which is the smallest bedroom so I have room for me, my dogs and my cats. (They ALL have to sleep with me.)
That is something I'm going to be on the lookout for once I move out of here. I do have the other house and it has four bedrooms so there would be plenty of room for me to have a craft room but it's just too far away from my sons and my friends. I've been trying to sell it but, with this economy, it may take some time. Hopefully, I can sell that soon (I'm dropping the price) and have money to get something between here and Baltimore (where all my friends live, at least my real-life friends). I like it in Virginia because it's such an inexpensive place to live (especially compared to Baltimore) but I was born and raised in Baltimore. I don't want to live in the city so I've been looking around in Virginia. Trouble is, the closer you get to Washington, D.C., the more expensive everything is, at least those places with a bit of land (or a big yard) for a garden, fruit trees, and possibly even a new craft shed!
I bet you're happy that the shed is finally finished, huh? Not just that but also because there's still time for Xmas projects! I hope we can get some photos of your projects, at least some of them, in your new shed.
I'm so happy for you!

What a nice looking family you have!! It looks great. It's nice that it was a group effort and everyone pitched in. How did you attach the corks, with glue?
I want the same thing, but I want a wook working shop. I like to build things.
