So a few weeks ago I got called in for an interview at Victoria's Secret. Well a few days ago I found out that I for sure got the job! I was pretty excited until I went to the "onboarding" yesterday. All the information was really overwhelming and the company seems so strict about everything. I would really love to have a job but I'm starting to have second thoughts that it may not be right for me. They also put me in the intimates section-fitting people for bras and helping them with the bras and panties. I have to call back the hiring manager today to get my employee id number so I think I might ask if it's possible for me to switch to the Pink section of the store. I'm really nervous to start now because the job seems so intense!! Hopefully I'll get the hang of it quickly and I'll get comfortable with it.

Congrats!! What a great store to work and think of the discounts you will get. I understand if you think the bra fittings could be awkward..I might not like doing that either. Try to get to a section you think you would feel more comfortable or give it a try if it's not too much of an issue with you. All the best!! We are all rooting for you!!

I'm a little more excited now that I'm in a different section. Now I just have to get a bunch of the Pink clothes so I have different things to wear. I'm still a bit intimidated, just because the store is so big and it seems like there's a bunch of things to remember. But this is my first job so I'm sure that being nervous is to be expected lol

Thank you!! I had to call the hiring manager last night to get my employee id number and I asked if it would be ok if I was in the Pink section instead. Luckily she said it was fine and I feel very relieved..even though I still have to learn how to do bra fittings. Also, the uniforms are different for Pink and I can wear jeans, sweats, flip flops, anything as long as I wear the Pink tops and stuff

Well, congratulations again!
I'm sure that all these apprehensions you have are just normal for going into something you're not familiar with. I'm sure that in a couple of weeks, you'll get the hang of it!
This job could even be a good source of interesting discussions for myLot!

Thank you!! I'm excited and nervous at the same time, especially since it's my first job. The Pink section is more for younger people and I think it would suit me better than being in the Intimates section. I think it would be kind of hard to sell the Intimates because really, I have no experience with that stuff and I wouldn't really be able to guide people in the right direction. But, I actually wear the Pink stuff and I think I could relate to people more and give them advice on the different things. haha and I'm sure I'll come across some interesting situations that would make great discussions here

Good for you. You should be proud of yourself. It's normal to have some doubts whenever a person starts a new job. I'm sure you will do great. Just give yourself a chance to see if you are going to like that position before you ask for something else. Once you get the hang of it you'll have more confidence in yourself and feel better. Hang in there and good luck.

Thank you :) I'm very proud because I got the job all by myself and didn't have anybody to put in a word for me. Yesterday I had the choice of being in intimates or Pink but I was so nervous that I just told her I didn't mind. So when I call to get my employee number today I'm going to ask if it's too late to work in the Pink section

Congratulations! That does seem like an odd place to put new people - very embarassing too if you don't know what you are doing. Once you are in for awhile I am sure you can move to another department. Maybe that's how they find out who really wnats the job.

Thank you! I definitely wasn't expecting to get put in the intimates. I think it would be a bit awkward having to measure people's sizes when I really have no clue what I'm doing. Luckily, I was able to get switched to a different section..and one that I feel suits me a bit better.

Congratulations on getting a new job! Well, I am sure you'll get the hang of it once you are done with your adjustment and probation period. I believe that the trainings, product knowledge and other concepts and criteria of your new job will be helpful. If you learn all these things and make it into action you might even get promoted soon. Just enjoy working and if you love what you're doing you'll definitely have no problems or if you do, you'll get over them. Good luck and enjoy!

How awesome! You must be so proud of yourself! Why are you worried about being in the intimates or that the job may not be right for you? I would suggest trying it out first to see if you may change your mind. You never know what you may like until you try it. I am sure you will learn quickly. I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you, I actually am a bit proud that I got the job. Intimates just seems like it might be a bit awkward and when I applied I didn't really want to be in that section..I applied to be a cashier. I talked to the hiring manager today and she said it was ok if I worked in Pink, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Well good! Think of whatever position you get as an opportunity to only improve and move forward. You only have to be stuck in entry level positions for as long as you want to. Work hard & move up girl!

congrats on your job! at this time any job you can get is good, since recession is hitting hard all around, so be happy with it and since it's also such high profile job, dont just drop it cause of this small issue, I'm sure you can work it out just fine and in the end you'll be happy with the oncome you will make, cause you will earn it hard :)

Hi courtknee
I wouldn't get cold feet now. You have been after this job for some time now. You had to know what type of store Victoria Secret is before applying. It will be a challenge until you get accustomed to everything. One of my friends worked for Balli. She had to properly fit women for bras. I never knew a person should be measured for a proper fit. Hope it pays you well and that you learn to enjoy it.

Yes, it's definitely taken some time to be able to get a job. Right now I'm hired as Seasonal and get paid 7.50 but I'll probably have the option at the end of the season whether or not I'd like to stay. If it's something I enjoy (and if I get a few raises along the way) I would like to stay there. I knew what type of store it was but I applied to be a cashier and instead I got the bra section. But yes, technically, you should get fitted for a bra every 6 months because believe it or not your bra size can change. It changes with 5 pound weight losses or gains and many people don't even wear the right size. That's why it's important to just go in and get fitted every so often.

Try to relax and don't worry about the job. All I can say it's congratulations and do your best from now on to get on top. Hopefully, at some point you will be back to inform us about a promotion you would get.
What's the matter with the intimates section? You don't like it? Why?

Thank you :) I'm excited I got the job..I'm just nervous about the section I was put in. I think fitting people for bras would be a little awkward..so I would like to see if I can switch into the Pink section because it's more my style.

Wow! Congratulations there! Victoria secret looks pretty awesome to work for you are one lucky girl!! I bet many people applied for that job. Though as you said you want to move to the pink section...I don't think you should ask about it yet, as you said they are pretty strict, I think it would be better if you work for them for. A few months first before asking for a change in department because they may take it as you are being picky..I don't knew.. Just a suggestion.
