Do you use the same passwords for all your accounts?

I use ALMOST the same passwords for all my accounts, with a slight variation. I use different passwords for my PayPal account and a few others. Not that I cannot remember, I have one of the most amazing memories. But I get mixed up and end up getting my account locked. Do you use the same passwords?

I have not two similar passwords and I don't try to remember them. I encrypt them in a file and I use a password manager to log in, but I realized last year when I found a burglar at home that I should have lost access to all my accounts if he had enough time to steal all my computers. A good experience : I made a copy of my password file on a SD, that I keep... somewhere.

So if I can manage to get into your password manager, then I will be able to have all your passwords? That seems a bit too easy and not very interesting, but it might be fun trying to find where you keep that SD with your backup copy of the password file.

They are encrypted, and if the key's with him, you still can't do anything about it. Well, at least that's what I think. The rest is up to you.

I store the password easy to remember by my head and the id will be same with the other site. So I'll not used reset password everytime want to log in.

The 'forget password' resets your password everytime. It is a very tedious thing to do. How do you cope with it?

I don't use same passwords to all my online accounts. I am just helping myself to avoid online fraud and scammers. I was once a victim online when my e-mail was hacked. Beware!

What? What happened then? I have never been hacked, and don't want to experience it ever. I would like to know if any info was stolen.

Yes, and that's what I have done too. I have more complex ones for PayPal and the one related to PayPal. So I'm safe on the financial side.

I keep a file of my passwords apart from the computer. Not a good idea to have the same one for all accounts. I recently had to reformat and if I'd had the file on the computer, I would have lost them all. I'm still coming across sites with my account that I had forgotten about. Should have kept a file of accounts too.

Have a pattern for your passwords that only you would know. So a slight change might keep them safe. Like a certain mix of characters and numbers and stuff.

Oh, that's good. I'm not open to a lot of people and so, I believe I stand a lower risk of losing my account. If ever I join Facebook, I will sort out my accounts. All of them.

Well lets say that i have 6 passwords , normally later one including the 0000 addition to some randomly , they are combined in to greater passwords . My normal passwords are around 8 symbols each , so combined they are alright , i really have like 24 symbol passwords for some important sites , depending on the imprtance i set less or longer password . I even combine my passwords with some of my friend for greater sacurity sometimes :)

Actually, it is rarely about the length of the password, but the complexity of it. My are almost 15 character ones, but are more complex. Only I will know the combinations.

Of course not! I change it in a way that I can still every characters of it. But I don't think it's a good idea to discuss it here. Because there can be lots of hackers around lurking in this discussion. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I have never use the same password. The password of my every account is different. If someone carcked one of my password, he can't get access to my other accounts. In other words, it's the most useful way to protect my accounts.

Good thing, better be safe than sorry. But I think just in case, one should have a back up of his/her passwords somewhere like his/her mobile phone or a written paper on his/her wallet.

for all trusted website i have one password and for all untrusted website i have also another one for them its because they are untrusted so i will not use my original password for them. you know why? if you use your password to sign up on untrusted website you are giving a chance to the hacker to access your important account like email.

I guess you shouldn't, but I've been a blogger myself, and for a reason, I know that the only details you have would be the email id and the IP address, both of which aren't of any use.

No, I do not use the same password for all of my accounts, though I do use the same password for a few accounts. I have slight variations for the important accounts that need a little extra umph. I have gotten locked out of some of my important accounts before and it took a long time to get them opened back up, because I couldn't remember the answers to the questions. I rarely if ever use the real answer to any of the questions because anyone who knows me really well would know all of my answers. Once I even had to call and talk to someone about my account. That was a nightmare.

How many accounts do you have? For safety purposes, have different passwords to your PayPal and the one linked to PayPal. You can get into trouble if you haven't.

hello, my dear boyuancy I used to use one password for all my accounts everywhere, untill one of my "friends" make a joke with me and took my password and write to my mother that she is a bad person. It was awful. Since then I have different password for every site and profile, and I get mixed up sometimes, but it is rarity.
