It's a hot cocoa morning in South Florida...

I woke up this morning to a freezing cold house on this cold South Florida morning. I had to break down and turn on the heater but that didn't warm me enough so now I am heading to the kitchen to make a cup or two of some delicious hot cocoa with marshmallows to help stave off this bitter arctic blast!
I hope that does the trick, I really don't care for cold weather - that's one of the reasons I moved to South Florida in the first place, to make sure I was in a nice warm climate.
Anyhow, what is your "go-to" method of keeping warm when the thermostat drops low in your area? Again, mine is the hot cocoa. There's just something about the warmth of the liquid and the smooth nurturing taste of chocolate. It's almost like a blanket is wrapped around me... :D
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I like a nice hot cup of Starbucks coffee any morning, but especially on a cold one like this one it's a mandatory thing.
Hope you enjoy your cocoa and it gets warmer soon!

Hmmm, I wonder what your idea of cold is..Here in Ohio it is 25 F this morning and besides having the heat on, I am bundled in my very warm sweater and finger-less gloves. Of course every morning, whether it is cold or not, I have hot coffee, but when it is cold, I tend to eat a hotter breakfast like cream of wheat to fill me up and warm me up..:)

oooh cream of wheat and oatmeal sound good with buttered toast.
It got down to freezing here we were told to drip our faucets in Florida last night.
Although we don't get snow if you live by the ocean the water breeze that comes off is brutally cold!

I live in a lake community, so I understand the effect of water and cold weather real well. Yes, I forgot, I also had buttered toast with my cream of wheat..

For me, hot coffee and another hour ib bed does the trick. ..i then take a scalding shower and dress in warm clothes. In thosr days, I love a hot casserole or a minestrone. A warm lunch makes all the difference to me. Happy posting and keep your feet warm.

It gets pretty cold here in Colorado and what I do is actually wrap up in a blanket if I'm not active. When I'm busy doing things, the cold doesn't bother me. Of course, we run out heaters 24/7 in country like this, but I keep it on the cool side (66 - 68) during the day and 60 at night. Hot tea works for me when I get chilled.

I do not get too chilled too often, but when I do, I like to be able to crawl into my bed. I have a heated mattress pad that takes the chill off. Of course I drink coffee all day so that helps warm from the inside out. So, warm on the inside and warm on the outside equals warm all over.

its a hot chocolate DAY here where i live in Canada. although not as cold as yesterday (windchills were much higher yesterday) it still pretty cold and i just got in from work and now i am just finishing off some hot chocolate.
my go to method is fuzzy socks. with fibromyalgia, my toes are always freezing so i have fuzzy socks and slippers on and they are still cold so hopefully the hot cuppa will help warm me up.

I also like a cup of hot coca. Or coffee with some vanilla carmel creamer in it...also heating my rice bag and putting it on my feet works wonders. I live in Minnesota and get to use these methods on a regular basis....except this winter. It's abnormally warm here! And no snow!

For me, the way that I will get warm when it is really cold outside is to layer on clothes. I will start the day with just a long-sleeved t-shirt on, but if I am still cold then I will put a sweater on over my long-sleeve shirt. I will keep doing this until I don't feel cold anymore. In addition to that, I also keep a blanket under my desk that I can cover my legs up with when I'm cold so that I don't feel quite as cold.

I'm in south Florida too! My house wasn't too bad this morning since we had the heat on last night. But last night I made some coffee and it made me all warm and toasty. I watched tv in my bed with my coffee and I was toasty warm. On cold days, it seems to be so hard to get up and out of bed. A nice hot drink always helps though lol

I live in Jersey so it's pretty much cold allday long this time of year lol. I have my heater on allday unless noone's at home. At night I have it going to the max. I don't mind snuggling up under the blankets for warmth, but I've got a baby at home so I have to keep him in mind.

Yes its friggen cold next to the water here in Sunny Florida.
What area are you in? I am in the Panhandle area (Panama City Beach)
I get up and start drinking hot tea.
So thats my warmth. I have got to get a thermal cup though because my tea keeps getting cold
I don't like instant hot cocoa I will sometimes make a pot of homemade hot chocolate and we will each have a warm mug.
If its not all drank then I put in the fridge for the next morning.
Now you have me wanting to make some.
Think I will make some this evening.
Stay warm. I know people will laugh at us for saying its cold in Florida but as our body adjusts to temps it seems colder to us than someone coming upstate where its even colder LOL
Happy Mylotting!
