I think I would go with pastel colors. Bold colors are ok for kids rooms I think but the others need to be a soft color. I like the light blues, greens, pinks, and lavenders. A light color with a dark trim is really pretty.

Any light colour...
To be specific, dark colors absorb more light. So, any light color will be a better choice for me.
I have already used light blue light green, light grenish-yelow, light pink, light ash. However, the best is white although difficult to maintain.

I like earthtones. What color is your furniture? Match everything, so it blends together.

My room will be done in shades of brown after the new paneling goes up. The living room is being done in very, very pastel green (i know it sounds icky, but it really looks nice with the furniture). The kitchen is being done in black, pink and woodgrain. The master bath will be redone in a nice light blue--the yellow in there is awful, lol. The kid's room is being done in dragons. Haven't decided about the entry room, the office or the half-baths just yet.

I actually like very neutral colors on my wall. A cream or something soft. I also love as white as white can be in the kithen because it looks so clean. I like to use the things in the room to create the color.
