geokat Legally it depends on your area - think babysitting ages. :) You can usually find this info online. Mine have all been perfectly capable of staying alone for a few hours by 11. So far anyway, lol. However, each child and family is certainly different....

geokat Do you mean like the mortgage or rent and utilities or buying their own clothes and stuff? I think if the family is in trouble, like Dad or Mom lost their job and there is a need for help with basic living expenses, then yes a kid should help. Everyone...
