What do you think are the factors of experiencing a back pain? Like most people in the working class, I spent hours sitting in a chair and another two hours travelling to and from my work place. At the end of the day, my back was so painful as if I have played basketball the whole day. Any tips on how to reduce the pain or at least avoid it? Have you experienced it too?

Hi! A hot compress or a good massage after a hard day's work can make wonders for that aching back. There many causes of a backache. It may be a simple muscle pain but it may also be a symptom of a more serious condition. It is still best to consult a doctor.

I am experiencing the same problem and I require my younger brother to massage my back every night to lessen the pain or I put an ointment. Backpain is caused by improper sitting and too much sitting in slouch position. If you are sitting for whole afternoon, I advise you to sit straight and comfortable. Improper posture is the source of this. Also, if you are stress, you can get back pain too. For sure if your stress is gone, you will not feel any pain in your body isn't it? You need to lessen your stress in a day or convert your stress into positive one. I am having a hard time too, but I am doing everything to make it resolved since I am the one who suffers to much.

I have lots of back pain and nerve pain… I’m being treated with medication and with a TENS unit which stimulates the muscles in the area where I have pain. It helps a lot. I feel like driving a lot with your legs extended can cause stress on the back… and also sitting for long hours in an unhealthy posture. With me, I am not able to straighten up. I am bent over at about 30 degrees when I stand. I have osteoporosis and I have tiny fractures that cause my spine to bend.
I think a healthy diet while you are still young and plenty of exercise when you are young will help you as you get older to prevent back problems. I was always overweight and I'm sure that was a factor.

Just sitting all day gives me back pain. I try and get up whenever I can and move around. I fidget all day long and that helps. One thing I find therapeutic for my back problems is cycling. There is something about the rhythmic motion of riding a properly fitted bicycle that makes my back feel better. I find I can ride the bike even when my back hurts so that it makes walking difficult.

I've been experiencing back pain ever since I had scoliosis. My right shoulder hurts like crazy sometimes because my upper spine is curved as with my lower spine. Also I notices that when I use my laptop while lying down on my stomach increases the pain on my shoulders.
I do yoga designed for the upper and lower back of people with scoliosis to help strengthen the muscles the holds the spine. It also helps me stretch the tight muscles so that they will not hurt anymore. Also good posture really helps with decreasing back pain.

Hi!
Yeah! I experience back pains once in a while. It's not just from sitting in a chair for a long time without standing up. Most of the times it's because of the cold from the air conditioning unit or just by the weather. Sometimes I get back pains from sleeping because of wrong position and sometimes the cold.
I think the best way to lessen the pain is to apply heat and warmth on to the painful area. A massage is good, too.

It is important to stay active and not sit around all day long. If sitting at an office desk try to sit supporting the back. When on a train or bus try to sit in a comfortable way. Don't pick up something very heavy. You could maybe get help to lift the item by a friend. Bend your legs when lifting something moderately heavy to avoid straining your back. I often get back pain and sit in a jacuzzi to relax my bones and muscles. I find my disabled son heavy to move. I believe a massage can help get rid of back pain.

I have a slipped disc - L3. And I have low back pain which also goes down my legs and into my feet. Going to the "Y" really helps. I do the hot tub, pool and machines. I always feel better afterwards. I love having a massage but it does not necessarily help with the pain. I have had several chiropractic adjustments. My first one really helped but none of the others did.
You need to see a doctor and get your back pain diagnosed. There are many reasons you may be experiencing back pain. You need to find out why. And then you can work on prevention and treatments. Without knowing the reason behind the pain can make a condition worse.

Yes in fact I was having back pain again today. I think this is because we have been sitting for a long time. What I do is put some ointment on my back or a hot compress.

Actually for what I knew was back pain is due to over use of our back muscles and consistent position in long periods of time. I was experiencing it too whenever I am in front of my computer, surfing the internet. One thing I learned to ease or prevent back pain is observing proper body alignment. Stand or sit straight whenever you were dong something that requires a long period of siting and standing. Also, Having frequent position changes and stretching. And if the pack pain occurs, take some medications for muscle pain like analgesics.

Some of the tips that i can give you are:
Try to keep your back straight and your posture straight while sitting.
whenever in the office try to walk just fr 1 min break.
stretch your legs in forward direction sitting on your chair
while stretching your legs rotate your feets clockwise and anticlockwise..
it will give some relief to the tensed legs.
at home put some warm water in a bucket and some salt and soak your feet for 10-20 minutes...its realaxing..
whenever lye on your bed lay straight on your back..it will sooth your back.
get a good massager...
i hope these all helps...
