Weeks ago there were a news which said Facebook will be closed down. Several days later there were another news which said the first news is hoax. Some people said, if Facebook really closed down then that's a good thing, while other claimed that they couldn't live without it. What about you?

I'd say I can't live without it, its the only way I communicate with people when I can't go out, I know there is email but I rarely use it.. But if it would close down everyone would find another site to join that's similar to facebook.

@ miijojo1994: I've tried a lot of sos-med sites... each have their own characteristics which might suits different person. Some might choose facebook, some others prefer others sites too... I've seen one which seems to try to imitate facebook, but doesn't seems to get as much attention as facebook *perhaps because facebook's still around*. @dilrajj57: who? Miijojo1994 or me?

Then my life would still be fine without it. I find it so lame that people would be so affected if Facebook would be gone. It's not my lost if Facebook will close down, It's the gonna be the lost of the developer.

Hi! I think I would have plenty of time to do more important things.haha. Facebook has been beneficial somehow in connecting people. People are only making bad comments that is why they are spreading bad rumors on facebook.:)

Hahaha very true. Some people might use it in a negative way, while it could be very much beneficial if we use it in a more positive ways ^_^

I wouldn't go as far as to say I couldn't live without it, but I think after using facebook for so long I probably would miss it. I like to be nosy and find out whats happening with people lol.

Ha ha ha so do I. But many people claimed they can't live without it, since their life revolve around it. I've read a comment from a news online from someone who claimed spending 10 hours of *I forgot* his/her day on facebook.

Many people would go crazy if facebook will be closed. There will be many sites that would try to replace facebook. Their daily habit would change as if there is something thats missing from their life. In short it would be a great disaster if facebook will be closed down.

I think so... that's why I was wondering what would happen if facebook closed down... I might lost a source of earning there too... hahaha ^_^

My life wouldn't change at all without facebook. When I joined facebook three years ago, I would login daily to check updates from my friends and would keep updating my status as well. Then I began spending one hour daily playing games on facebook. With time, my craze for facebook went down. Now I hardly spend 10 minutes on facebook.

I've actually been considering just retiring my facebook. Not because I'm on it all the time (though I am probably on it more than I should be), but because I'm just kinda bored with it. The only reason I still have it is because there are some people who don't have my number (or who don't have a cell phone), so the only way they can reach me conveniently is through facebook. If it disappeared, I wouldn't really be that sad about it.
• Indonesia

Indeed... people might change their cell phone number a lot, or sometimes there were a technical issue happened to our phones which make us lost their number and I feel with facebook they seems to stay around, so I can just straightly contact them whenever I need them, or their number. But I'm one of those who's going to be sad LOL

Really facebook will be closed down? Well, if it, it's ok. I still have mylot anyways. LOL. I'm not really bothered if that happens. I can definitely live even without facebook. I'm not addicted to it, and i rarely visit it. I'll just check if i have some important message or something like that. There are other means of communicating with your friends, so i would not be so affected if facebook will closed down.

It's absence wont bother me at all as I am not so fond of facebook. I visit it rarely. But one thing, I think my phone bill will definitely increase if it is closed. Currently I dont have to make distant call as I can chat with a friend who is far away from me.
• Indonesia
2 Feb 12
Still, you need it to decrease your phone bill... but I do agree... with facebook I still feel like my friends were there all the time, without I even need to call them ^_^

To be frank, I'm not an active Facebook user. I would prefer to hang out with my friends instead of socialising on the net. So, I don't really understand when people say, you cant live without Facebook. Well, I know it's because I'm not an active member but then again, I think I'm still fine though . But then again, if there is no Facebook, it would be bad too. People won't be able to socialise globally. Facebook also acts as a business market system. So it's also important for trading. I believe everything should be moderate . I would prefer face to face so, I don't think my life would be affected if Facebook is present. Haha:D

You're a very lucky person then... I used to hang out with friends a lot and I love it, but now I've got no other choice but through facebook or other sos-med sites.

It would not matter to me one bit whether FB closed down or still continued.I joined the site a couple of years ago due to the insistence of a friend though i am hardly in touch with him.I hardly ever access the site and find it useful only because i get reminders of my friends and relatives birthdays in my inbox.I am not socially active on the `net therefore it does not matter at all to me if the stops once and for all.

My life would be the same without Facebook. I write, and then check Twitter, Myspace, Myspace games, and Facebook. If Facebook left, then I'd have more time for Twitter, Myspace, Myspace games, and other things. I basically use Facebook to check and see if anyone's having a birthday. I also glance some of my friends' sayings. Ive given up trying to thank people for "friending me" since facebook never notifies me when I get a new friend, and I don't have the time to search for new faces on my Friends list.

About the headline question : Some major things in my life happened thanks to facebook : I found out about the zumba lessons , I found out about a new salsa club in my area...Without facebook , many people would need a regular website and to do whatever it takes to publish that website. I could also not add people that would ignore me in first place. Some people I add as friends on facebook just to see they ignore my messages even if we talk face to face. The facebook just gives you a lot of information without of you have to search it.

I honestly don't think my life would change much one way or another if facebook shut down. Sure, I like being able to keep in touch with people in my life, but I really don't spend much time on there and if it was gone I would simply find a new website to occupy my time.

hi there dodolbete. for others who think they couldn't live without it then maybe they have used to using that site for all their lives. they have been addicted to it. for me i'm on the neutral side. i am good with or without it. i think people who have been addicted by it could get used to not having it at some time.
