Hello Lotters, Really hard to believe that some people in the call center industry can go too far by pretending to be just any one. we all know of the fake and imposter people who likes to be popular but definitely different offline. This person took advantage of her job and destroyed the trust of her clients and the company itself. I bet she lost that job now and will never get a job in the call center industry. Why can' she just be content withher job and not to pursue some stupid dream. not a referral link.. http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/nation/metro-manila/04/20/12/excl-models-fake-facebook-profile-used-scam The person doesn't deserve to be in this profession, it's an insult to all hardworking CALL CENTER AGENTS who are professional..

She finally got her well-deserved fame only it would causer her shame. What the mom said was so true. Really now, I know most people are in desperate need of money but identification theft is definitely not a good way to do it.

Hello keihimekawa, she has a freaking job, can she just find some one that loves her the way she is, surely she's gotta problem in her side. she wasted her life and use it something that wasn't necessary. i feel bad for this woman, most specially to the model as well, people should watch out.

I totally agree on this. I feel bad for the Australian whom she milks money on. This should act as a reminder that Internet is a VERY public place to be and placing in personal information and immediately trusting people without actually knowing them is risky. As for money, heck, she should just work harder to earn more or find a better job instead of fooling people.

This is a sad and disappointing story. She may have her reasons for doing such a an awful thing, but it can never be justified. She didn't only put down the image of call center agents but also of Filipinos. Life must have been very hard on her, but who doesn't have problems. This is really not a good way to solve issues.

I have been working in this industry since 2003 and I can say that the people who are now working in this industry is no longer the same as the ones I worked with when I started. People working in the call center industry are what I can term "a dime a dozen" since it is the easiest job that you can apply for here in our country. Not because it is an easy job, but because of the numerous jobs that it can offer. There is also a misconception that the pay in this industry is good. It was good when I started in 2003. I was even able to buy my own house with savings from my salary from 2003 to 2006 since I am single. But if I were to apply for an agent position now, I will get the same rate as I had when I started in 2003. Imagine the inflation from 2003 to 2012 and companies are still offering the same pay rate. Yes, there are a lot of incentives. But these are all performance based, meaning you really have to work for it to earn it. I don't want to pass judgement on this call center agent who did this scam, but she must've thought that she can get away with easy money. When it comes to earning money, no matter how dire your circumstances are, there is always a better and decent alternative than to stealing.

I don't think her crime is related to her job function in the call center industry, it's just the tagging of the person in the news that it was her profession. As I mentioned, this is a dime a dozen job where a lot of human resource personnel look at the educational attainment of a candidate than what a candidate can bring to a company. Call center jobs (level 1 or entry positions) are what I can classify too as disposable jobs. Meaning that the attrition level may be high in a lot of accounts that some companies do mass hiring of agents just to fill in seats. This is really a case of identity theft because this girl posed as someone else just to get money. And I know I am being rude, but if you compare her looks to the one she is impersonating, I don't think she will get an online boyfriend with her looks. I know, I know. I'm being harsh.

It's because we Filipinos are judgmental by nature. If this had happened in the US, the headline would be "Model becomes victim of identity theft" or "Facebook used for crimes". And in the story, you will just hear about the suspects' profession in passing that you can't even notice it. I don't know why our media puts more emphasis on a title than the crime itself. Maybe because it will be more sensational? Just look at our headlines and you will see this kind of tagging which gives a negative impression for those working in that field.

Hello Anne25, DOn't you find it insulting that some one who is the same industry as you is abusing and destroying the trust of the clients by imposing some one else to get money.it's not an easy job and yet some manage to have guts pulling a file and cost the trust of a person. i think there should more strict regulations in hiring an agent, look what this hideous lady did.

I can't watch the video due to internet connection but from what I understand she pretend to be her client and make a fake facebook profile? Even if not all we see on the internet is fake but we need to beware of it. This is one of the example where she just not lying herself but others for sure. I bet they fired her for her wrongdoing. They don't need staff like her over there.

Hello CTHanum, Yes, it's fake and she thought she can just get away from it. she has a problem am sure but definitely it's not good when others become a victim of it. she needs to re-evaluate herself some where in jail to reflect on what she did and regret it though. we just to be vigilant on whom we should trust. have a nice day.

Even if she got problems she should not do it at the fist place..This will bring a great embarrassment to her and hope she will regret and will not going to scammed other people in the future. She ruined the trust when she did it and now she need to pay for it.

oh yeah, i guess she'd be gone for a very long time, she chose to steal a famous person here in the country and i would think she has no mercy for her because of what she did.. she even put her name to risk because she was asking money from supposed people she had relationships with in the internet. im glad she was punished. i hate people who does things that bothers others who are just trying to live correctly and earn money the right way.

That is really bad.... taking advantage of someone's identity. I think she deserves to be put in jail for this offense. She was really good at robbing it and playing it as her own. Since she is working as Call Center agent then she can fake her voice as well. Oh too bad she got caught. she could have just used her voice in CC to earn and not the way she used it right now.

Hello Rsa101, She's supposed to act mature and professional and doesn't supposed to resort to this. could be, one of the things you learned in the call center, unfortunately she used it for her mischieving purposes. i hope every one has learned this lesson from this woman. have a nice day.

Hello Jai-sis, She did pay for it and she was stupid enough to think that they won't catch her. probably she hasn't been tv regarding how people are completely busted with the help of the media. it's sad that this filipina model had been victim of identity theft and it will sure victimized every one else if she wasn't caught. have a nice day.

Hi Letran Knight: what this woman was thinking when she did such an illegal action. At least they caught her when she was doing this. Otherwise she might be doing the same thing to some innocent clients. The company at the same time has lost its credibility because of this terrible employee. ALVARO

Hello Starsailover, It was illegal on all accounts, she was using some one elses money to extort money from that guy and it was unfair for him. She won't have any more future jobs in the call center because back ground check is very important there and indeed this woman will never get a chance. have a nice day.

They should have not emphasized it in their news so people reading and watching the news will not generalized it and look at call center agents like us as if we are also doing the thing. Another bad way of using the internet is being shown here. We should not abuse it's use and we should be more cautious as well as a user so we will not be victims of this kind of scheme and people doing this should really be arrested. If anyone of us here knows someone doing this, we should help in telling the pulis so as this will be stopped. Hopefully no one will try to do this to us..

Hello Gaiza12, There are so many cons out there that few are being arrested. the only mistake that this person did was copy some one's facebook and got himself a foreigner boyfriend, which didn't last long though.there more people out there that do these things. well, that's what the model did. have a nice day.

Hello Cutie18f, It's embarrassing indeed and sad that she had to be a call center agent for doing such a crime. i think she did this out of extortion and money, nothing more. a lot of people are doing that now a days, impressing and wants to become popular simply because of what they lack and kept comparing themselves to others. have a nice day.

What way to cheat people. It serves her right that she was caught. As always, bad deeds will revert back. Imagine stealing the identity of someone so beautiful. No wonder, she got an Australlan boyfriend because she used a beautiful and sexy model's identity, very much opposite her.

Hello Simplyd, she was definitely trying to leech that person's money and used a models real fb account. she wasted her life simply just she wanted more than she can afford, that's what happened when you're too ambitious and wanted to get naughty using some one elses accont. big mistake and something she can never do again. have a nice day.

Hello hatley, you know the worst part is that the model is also a Filipina-Bulgarian and she did this out of her own financial agenda. this will give less confidence and doubt to our call center agents and industry for trusting a call center agent with their personal info to what ever services are they into

Serves her right. She could have loved her job more and work decently. It's a real disgrace for call center agents like me. Thanks for sharing this info. I know this posts makes me upset but it's a MUST KNOW for those representatives on the phone that it is really now worth risking their jobs for being involved such petty crimes like this. One advice: Have a clear conscience and put yourself in the customer's shoes. They're the reason most of the Filipinos here still have jobs. And we should all be thankful in this opportunity given by off-shore companies.

Hello resycurapika, There's nothing wrong with earning money from that job, it's hard but it's a good pay. unfortunately, this person has issues and probably desperate for money and some kind of companionship. too bad she can't turn back time now in terms of not repeating that foolish mistake. it makes us upset too, i'd wish future agents would learn from her mistakes. have a nice day.

Hello Jazel_juan, I don't why she got so desperate here and i am not sure what caused her to do it. but she has issues but she should have consulted with some one who is clearly able to help her and not use some one else as a tool to gain her fake fame and success. have a nice day.

When I heard about this, I laughed my head off. Talk about stupidity. What was she thinking that she would't get caught. Then I got angry. Here we all are trying to make a decent living, trying to convince people that their security is in our best interest and then someone comes along and ruins it. It's not enough that most foreigners whose customer service is being outsourced gets mad because they find out about the fact that we're not locals. Now we have to be really careful because of the mistake she's done. I'm sure what she did will cost her more than her job. What she has done is theft. If she wants a job, she better steer clear of the bpo industry. Or any industry that deals with financials.

Hello apoljuice, well, there are always bad apples in the basket that needed to be segregated . unfortunately in our society, unless caught, bad apples will remain part of our society and this is one of them. if only i was doing a lot better in terms of being a good agent, but am sure she is but definitely not enough for her and that was stupid of her. have a nice day.

Hi there! I was able to watch this on the news a while ago as well. It's unfortunate that the fact that she is a call center agent got dragged into the issue even if she did all those bad things outside of her work. I don't think that what she did will have a direct negative and long term effect on the industry itself or her company as her case is an isolated case. But it is definitely some bad publicity to a very successful industry although it's not something that can't be handled. I've worked as a call center agent before and I know all the bad rep that agents have. I admit a lot of them are true but it's not fair to generalize, right? So I think y'all will be okay pretty soon. She said she did it because she is a single mother who is trying to put her kid through school. Whatever her motives were, there is no justification for what she did. She will be charged with 3 crimes. Not only will she not work in the call center industry again, she might have to go to jail as well. I hope she realizes her mistakes and that other people will learn from this as well. We should be more careful with what we post online. We don't realize that there is a certain amount of responsibility when we decide to be active in social networks. Take care!

Hello Jonnic, YOu know base on her Anns response to me, it seems that the media was actually dragging the profession instead of having report a person who simply did this mistake. I wonder, why DRAG the profession, even any one with a career can do this if she or he is really nuts. we have to be careful on whom we trust on facebook, or any other social network sites for that matter. have a nice day.
