Most people get annoyed when their neighbor always watches and knows everything about everybody but "I LOVE MY NOSY NEIGHBOR". When the kids run up and down the stairs she opens her door and yells at them, when people stand in front of their door and talk really loud she opens her door to see what's up when people slam their doors {which they do all the time}she looks out her door and gives them the "LOOK". She always sweeps, cleans and washes the stairs. She was the 1 that had my crazy next door neighbor evicted{that made me sooo very happy}but I'm not one to complain so that's why i never get anything done I guess. So to make a long story short...my neighbor lady is the watch dog of our complex, Do you have a neighborhood nosy busy body?

We have a neighbor who's also like that but he's not the one who yells a lot. He is a retired engineer and he normally goes out of his house every morning to welcome the warmth of the sun, and although he has a huge belly he's still trying to walk around the neighborhood and does a little exercise. He's like a watchdog of the community. Whenever our family goes out of the house, he's the one who informs anybody who will be looking for us that nobody's home and tells us real time that someone's been looking for us when we arrive. At first, I find him very irritating and very nosy, but after a while, I think he's harmless and just wants to help us whenever he can.

Oh, that is one neighbor to love- my mom is like that though...she always wants to do what is right- she is one of the few people here like that.. I wish we could have lots of neighbors like yours so our neighborhood would be cleaner and nicer.

My mom is like that too and she'll knock on your door if you're to noisy, I'm not really want to start complaining about my neighbors cause I don't want to make enemies.

My mom makes lots of enemies- i really hate it, she only wants to have a clean environment but they make her the bad person.. Is it so bad to want to have a green and peaceful environment?

You have a great attitude. I would possibly BE that neighbor, checking on things but I am not in an apartment. We do have a man in our neighborhood who is out in his garage on the alley whenever he is home. He also works for the gas utility company. He always knows what the city is doing, and whatever he sees out the back door. He is also a good neighbor. If he borrow heavy equipment from his work, he goes and does what he needs done, then if neighbors need the same he does it for them as well. He is a really good neighbor.

Yeah, he even keeps the holes filled in the alleyway, and he got a big chainsaw and trimmed and cut out trees for a bunch of us a couple of years ago.

I have a really terrible feeling that I am the local busybody. I'm the one who goes up to every workman and asks what he's doing, and where. I'm the one who makes a note of any vehicles that we don't usually see in the area. I'm the one who tells the kids to behave if they're getting too rowdy. I'm a bit of a cow about it, but I try to reason with the kids that they'll get hurt or in deep trouble if they cause damage. They know me, I knew some of their parents when they were kids, and I don't lecture them as much as I try to actually make them think. I do believe some of them have brains. Not all of them. We bossy old cows have our place in society, I'm glad that yours is doing you proud.

I used to have a neighbor who's frame and looks can kill you. Just like your nosy neighbor, he always has eyes for odd looking suspicious people. My kids and I felt so secured just having him around . I may not be a friendly neighbor due to the demands of my work and responsibility of being a parent thus I had no time for chit chat. But since he lives just next door and had been very accommodating with my kids, we got to know him well and his family. He was such a blessing. He maybe hard in the outside but has a heart of gold in the inside.

You just never know till you get to know somebody how they really are. Like they say...Don't judge a book by it's cover

It is good to read that you have a nosy neighbor. In Africa, we call such person or neighbor "busy body" which means they are always poke-nosing or looking at matters that does not have any bearing on their lives.

Well, I wouldn't mind having one, if their intentions are for the better. What I don't like are those neighbors who often talk about other people, as if they're living a perfect life. They always have something to pick on others. I'm not fond of socializing in the neighborhood, because I don't like that attitude of making gossips about other people's lives.

I don't like that either and that's happening a lot around here I'm sure. I live in a very large complex and luckily my neighbors keep pretty much to themselves.

I guess it depends on what kind of nosy neighbor it is. I have one, but I love her, because she's like everyone's grandmother, always makes cookies and is always worrying about everyone, and we can cope with some gossip, and she never has bad intentions with it. But when someone is gossiping for the sake of stirring up someone's life or is overly pushy, I hate that.
