The weather was really bad yesterday. It rained for almost the whole day. My kids were sent home early from school. My kids couldn't do anything, they couldn't play outside and they bored with playing PSP and watching TV. As result they shifted their attention to eating. They asked me if can cool champorado. I usually prepare champorado using the instant one. But yesterday was different, i cooked champorado using the old way and regular ingredients. And lo and behold, my kids loved my champorado. They told me it's better than the ones i made before. From now on, i will cook champorado the old way. How about you? How do you prepare your food? Do you go for instant or ready to cook food? Or do you prefer cooking using the traditional way?

Instant food cannot compare with the traditionally prepared food actually. I don't actually patronize instant food because I believe they are not healthy at all.
Speaking of champorado, it tastes so good if you use pure glutinous rice and then cooked slowly while stirring when it starts to boil. I add lots of cocoa into it. I want it to look really dark brown and then I add Alaska Condensed milk. Hmmm so yummy and even better if there is dried fish on the side. Champorado and tuyo is a winning combination and a favorite snack especially during rainy season.

I love cooking hot foods like egcaldo or arrozcaldo and sopas or chicken noodle soup when raining. I really love to cook that's why I prefer to cook them on my own rather than having instant.

Could I be your daughter for a day? I'd like to eat champorado as well ! If only I know how to cook, I would really prefer to eat the traditional way and cook with all the ingredients and stuff. But, since I can't cook and don't even know how, I am eating instant foods lately.

I dont want dried fish in my champorado, i just want it to be drowning with milk. I dont use rice for making champorado anymore, I use whole oats, much more healthier and it absorbed the chocolate much better.
another one I like during rainy days is macaroni and milk soup, its so comforting and its so heavenly.

hi there jsae! did you know that a lot of artistas are also fond of champorado? I saw that in rated K last sunday when they were asked on what food they liked to eat when raining. I think champorado is the best because it is warm and chocolatey and makes you feel good in the tummy!

I had to research to learn about champorado.
I make everything from scratch. Everything. I would make champorado the same way. It looks like it would be so easy. I'd have to go to an Asian market/store to get the rice, tho. But there is a good one nearby.
