smoking in public places

One suggestion would be that there should be a place for smoking. We really can't remove smoking for it has been a part of many cultures. I'm not a smoker, ofcourse I would want smokers to stop it. But it's everyones choice, they do what they want to do. At the end of the day, we will all pay the price. Let's just have a smoking place for every place, for everyone's sake. After all, they still have the right to enjoy every place, like the beaches in Greece.

I am a smoker and I know how people do not like to smell the smoke if they are not smokers. In my case, I always consider those that do not like smoking so when I smoke, I alway check that I have not affected anyone. Several places in our country have come up with smoking bans in public places and for me this is great despite the fact that I smoke since I always respect those that do not smoke.

I do not smoke and think it is great that smoking is banned in public places in my home country. When I was young person I hated the smoke filled pubs and night clubs. I worked in an office when I was 18 to 20 years old. I didn't like it that a few of the employees smoked at their office desks. I do appreciate a smoke free environment. I think it is wrong of an adult to smoke in front of a baby or child. Passive smoking can be harmful. I wouldn't like a beach with loads of smoking going on. I like fresh air.

I don't support smoking in public place. People go to sea beach for sun bath and taking fresh air. It is nonsense to smoke at sea beach. Because it pollutes the air. Why the Government of Greece allows smoking in public place like sea beach ?

Its outside!! I can see someone having a problem with others smoking indoors where its not well ventilated BUT seriously? I am a smoker and I do try to be courteous around others however if I am OUTSIDE then I shouldbe allowed to smoke if I want if people dont want to smell my smoke OUTSIDE then they are welcome to go upwind

I think there should really be an appropriate place for smoking like smoking areas and coffee shops with open air. In the case at the beach, we cannot avoid people to smoke as it is an open area. Maybe the management of that beach could put an area for smokers only, just like on restaurants and coffee shops. Smokers, on the other hand, should consider their environment. They should be aware if they would smoke and there are a lot of children surrounding him/her. Remember, being a secondhand smoker is much worse than the one smoking. This is much more crucial for children on their growth years.

The place is called a public one,that is why they could do anything just like smoking but you better not not come nearer to them to avoid the danger of a second hand smoke entering your lungs,which is not healthy to all concern.The public should be warn about the danger of second hand smoke.They must be given a private room,where all smokers are allowed to smoke without disturbing non smoking individuals.I like to roam around the beach coastline and enjoy the freshness of the air that passed you every minute.It is really healthy to everyone to inhale fresh air from the sea because it could heal some coughs and other irritating lung problems.

I do not think it is good to smoke in public place coz othe people has to suffer the bad effect that caused to them. I just so love fresh air and people definitely enjoy this and be healthy living in such places.

Hi friend! In our province, we have an ordinance preventing smoking in public places and conveyances. The establishments provides smoking area for people who wants to smoke. However there are also those who are hard headed and will not follow instructions. But having a law that prohibits smoking is a big help.

Hi friend, smoking in the public place is a bad thing and people must avoid it, as we know smoking is injurious to our health, since some people are addicted with this habit and smoke in the public place which spoils other persons health. Passive smokers are very much affected than the active smokers. You are right, due to the smokers the beach air becomes dirt and we don't have the ability to get the fresh air due to this kind of persons

Even if air is free, I think people should not be allowed to smoke in public. If they want to pollute and kill themselves they should be smoking in the area where in they'll be the one who's going to inhale those smoke that they exhale. I hate people who are not considerate of their surroundings.

Dear friend, I think people who love smoke should consider more for others in public place and it is better not to smoke in the place we need fresh air. If one want to smoke , he should go to the smoke area and enjoy him-self and avoid to make air poluted. Noadays, smoking in public place are fobidden in many big cities. I think it is good for all of us.

It is too bad to smoke in beaches & public places,either smokers should respect others freedom or the government should ban public smoking

No i don't think because i believe that passive smoking is more harmful as compared to active, public places are surrounded by kids and people who don't prefer smoking, but yes there should be some place for smokers where they can sit and enjoy smoking.........

I'm a smoker and though not proud about it, I had learned that I will only kill myself only and not to involved other people. I will call it "responsible smoking". But many people could not even do this and people with this kind of behavior really is a disgusting scene.

I am a smoker but I am considerate with other people. I think there should be places wherein smoking is not allowed. If there are no rules like that, smokers should be more considerate on other people specially those who are not smoking. It is a very selfish act because we smokers enjoy it but what about other people? In my opinion I think there should be places that are prohibited for smokers. Meaning like in a restaurant, there are smokers and non-smokers place. So that everybody will enjoy coming to a place. same as other places like in your case, in the beach. I think that is the best remedy.

hmm, it's really bad if someone smoke in public places. cuz i hate someone smoke in front of me,not only smell bad,but also evil for our health. we should know that when we breath the air mixed with smoke, its worse for us than the smoker himself. therefore, we should ban the smokers smoke in public places or build a special place for the smokers only.

No way its too bad thing to Smoke or even in public Place, where some Old people rest there and not good for there healths , fresh air is more important rather than smoke . kindly smoke it where no kids and people like asthma penitents .
