I don't know why the processing of POEA to all OFW changes lately. Before, when I went to Saudi Arabia. We are not required for Red Ribbon in our NBI clearance but not they need all NBI clearances should be authenticated to DFA. Aside from that, before I didn't undergone OWWA seminars which is now strictly needed. Only PDOS I attended last time 3 days before my departure. Lastly, it is also compulsory to attend a seminar in any accredited TESDA institution. OMG! I work in a five star hotel already why they need us to undergone trainings. Too much drama lately for us. Now, I can say it's hard to find job abroad, when you find it there's alot of scenario to be accomplished. Indeed, some of our earnings will go to personal pocket of some authorities

Haven't gone to POEA, hmm..but reading this from you my friend is indeed frustating. If processing takes long on old OFW, what will happen to us, new OFW? tsk tsk.. such rudeness in our government, when will it end? When will they stop this corruption? :(

I know it's most likely a burden to people who have to go through all the steps, but I'd just like to point out that authenticated NBI clearances ensure that someone isn't operating under false and fraudulent names and might lessen criminal activities that target OFWs. Seminars provided by OWWA and TESDA are helpful in educating Filipinos on their rights and the DOs and DONTs and are especially needed for those who are new to being OFWs. It's good that you are already working in a five star hotel but not everyone is as lucky. There are a lot of people who are cheated of their hard-earned money because they are uneducated for the risks and civil rights that they do have as OFWs. Some others are abused and unable to ask for help because they didn't know they COULD ask for help in the first place. Identity theft is also something that has been relatively prevalent in this area. It might take a lot of hassle for you now but you're used to a more lax processing environment, so that's to be expected. Just think of it as a way to diminish illegal activity and fraud. And also as a way to educate others on what and what not to do and what rights they have.

They are unfair in treating clients. I hate my experience being treated like we are not OFW, we are just like an ordinary people that we didn't help the economy of the country

You are absolutely right, many agencies requires different certifications or clearances as one source of income. Good thing though but I wonder where does the funds go and how they spend it.

Agencies should be transparent on their earnings from us. Most of the funds will go to unliquidated expenses of all department heads.

Ooops, what a system! My friend is going to POEA tomorrow. Though I don't know exactly why she's going there, i do get an idea why. Why do OFW have to go through all these? Can't one document do it all?

Much better if the government can do a solution to have a document that will covered all agencies. Or they make a one stop shop for OFW only so that no need to going back and forth to a certain offices. They should help the OFW to process easily because of the money we could bring to our country.

this is sad for me july! i am also planning to apply abroad as the salary for nurses here in the Philippines cannot pay for the tuition my parents have spent for me. Indeed the authorities are thinking of a lot of ways for us to spend money on which are pretty unnecessary and i think they are insecure because they know that when we go abroad there are a lot of opportunities there and higher pay but before we are allowed to go, we go bankrupt first because of them

Yes you are right. It seems they want to sip all our remaining money before they allow us to fly in another country. This is the second time I go outside but now I am amazed about the latest updates I got from the agency who work my papers. What about to those newbies, who happen don't have enough funds to sustain their applications and papers?

What's new?! I am 100% plus 1% to agree with you. The systems are modified to obtain monetary values.

For what? To they personal pocket and the corruption become more rampant? This kind of changes might give more challenges to the people they called "New Heroes". I don't agree with this kind changes
