Task rejected, cause: not natural English

The other day, I decided to participate in a task here on Mylot, where there was to rewrite a text of at least 500 words relating to a specific topic (which I do not remember), without making the copy / paste from other sites.
The reward was $ 1.
It was, however, required a perfect English, were not allowed spelling errors.
I tried to do my best, but my work was rejected!
This was because "my English was not natural."
In essence, this task was for those who were just native English speakers.
I am Italian, and unfortunately in Italy unlike many other European countries, we do not even have a second language, we speak Italian, just!
That says a lot about the fact that we Italians are behind compared to many other countries.
I, in the task, put my best effort, but in fact, anyone who had read the text, would understand that I am not native English speakers.
I studied English for ten years, but only at the school level.
I would say is just a shame to being able to speak only Italian! (By the way, one of the less widely spoken languages ??in the world).
So, no task! And no dollar!
So what do you think you readers, of we Italians?

Your English is pretty good. I can't even see that it is not your native language. Of course English is a foreign language for me and I come from China. I always avoid this kind of task because I think they need "perfect English" which means a writer's level? I feel confused to it. They can judge it by themselves only. I wonder whether a native American will even write in perfect English.

Most of my boyfriends in the past have been Italian and many of my friends also. I think you guys are really cool and sweet.
No matter the reason that person should have stated from the start that a native speaker was needed for the task. If they are taking peoples work and not paying, they ought to be punished in some way.
I'll not bother with such tasks in the future either.

You don't have to feel bad yourself, because when you tried the task and put your best effort on it you're already a WINNER! Yes, it's true that not all countries do have English as second language and with this, they are unable to communicate themselves well nor write phrase or articles in English as native one. Despite of that, it's good to know that you're still writing and posting here in mylot. You should not give up, instead take it as a challenge to do it eligibly and make sure to earn a lot next time. Being here, posting your best in English will already encourage and inspire other's to post too. Reading English books, watching English movies and speak in English language especially their norms and jokes will make you one of them. I am a Filipino, we have our own language "Tagalog" and I'm proud of it. In our country we do have different dialects too that I am very articulate " Bisaya " and speak English as well as I am also working in a call center and I communicate English people everyday at work and since grades school too, we were taught to speak English and I'm proud to say kids here in the Philippines know how to converse in English pretty good. So be proud of yourself too, since not all people have the courage and can speak English the way you do.

Don't worry about that, most of tasks like those won't pay, they collect opinions and ideas. The rejection is simply an excuse to get more content for their project. I don't see any problem with your English. Your English is very good.

Hello alberello,
It is so very commendable of you to be so responsible as to learn a foreign language, in this case English, and to use it to help in your writing.
I like your English very much. I know of people who have moved to an English speaking country and they can not even communicate properly with the natives. That is wrong in my opinion. The fact that you have studied English for 10 years says a lot about you. It tells my that you are willing to do your best and that is what really counts.
I have no problem with Italians. I'm part Italian myself along with French and Spanish. It's really not the land where you are from but your willingness to learn. That is what matters.
If I were running that task and you turned in your work, I would most likely have accepted it and given you the dollar that you worked for and earned.

English is not my native language also. And for sure, based on my personal assessment, my entry will also be rejected.
But it is not on how you grow up with the language. I think if I were just been trained properly like many of my fellow countrymen who speak English fluently because we are one of the providers of call center services in the world, then I think I can be a call center agent and have my chosen accent!

Well, you can imagine, if I'm not in a position to be able to draw a text grammatically correct, I do not think I could ever work in call centers where probably require perfect English and fluent.

Well, from your statements, then would you recommend me to perform small tasks paying 2 or 3 cents, but easy, especially workable for everyone, even those who are not very familiar with the English language.

yes. there is no point in worrying. Task creators are all powerful in deciding what they need to accept or reject. we have no say in this regard. It is better to do tasks in small lots and get paid so that we will not lose fully.
There are instances wherein I wrote a 300 pages book --on English language-- file sent thro email. Not even one $ was received. I did not worry about it. Tried to use that material for some other book written subsequently, It is like business --profit or loss both are possible.

alberello:
Your expression of regret in not being able to communicate well in English -- can be overcome if you read English grammar - Wren and Martin-- practice a few exercises regularly.
You have been writing well only. task creators they sometimes adopt a strategy of not accepting it -- so that they need not pay. I think I told earlier also I wrote 6 articles or so out of which 50% was accepted and 50% rejected on the ground -plagiarism. I tried to write in my own way and there was never an attempt to copy word by word. But I left it. I thanked my stars at least 50% recognition was given by them,
In your case I will say you did not get 1$ --it is ok. imagine you made donation to a poor family.
You need not feel sorry for talking Italian language only. One can speak one's own language only well.
good day.

Well, from what I wrote, Italian is one of the less widely spoken languages ??in the world.
I agree with you perfectly the idea to imagine that I made ??a donation of $ 1 for the poor. This would give me a great satisfaction!

hi, i never tried any tasks yet, so cant comment on that.
But i don't know that Italy doesn't have English even as their second language, why is it like that? Is it least spoken language in the world?
I heard that Italian is a very sweet language. And our mother tongue "Telugu" in India is called as "Italian of the East"
Its because ,, like Italian all Telugu native words end with an vowel sound .
Italian explorer Niccolò Da Conti coined the phrase in the fifteenth century.

Well, look, I heard it say this in a TV talk show. Many other European countries such as France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, etc.,. have English as a second language. In Italy, of course you are free to study alone (ok, it is still taught in schools), but it is not considered a second language.
The reason? Well, let's talk about the politicians!

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your situation very well as i had also gone through the same issue before. Even i had taken up such tasks over here and barring some, many were rejected simply because of some reasons that i was not able to understand in spite of the fact that i had done that task with equal aggression and honesty.
What say?

Well maybe they are too demanding the tasks creators?
Or maybe it's best to leave these tasks to those who are native English speakers!

I will say that we should not feel disturbed by such experiences but continue to do work. not to worry about payment-- best option is to do work in small lots --so that non payment is not a big amount. I hope you understand.

I like italians. I have met a lot of them. though your english is little different and not perfect, at you tried writing the article. I have tired to write an article here and I did my best but the reason of rejection was given that I just made it four paragraphs and five was required. I am sure it was easy to just separate one paragraph and that was it and I am sure that the person have used the article written by me after rejecting it. I have stopped writing articles here and this is the reason why. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Well, you know, writing an article of 500 words, you are paid very well, so those who create tasks have certain strict rules, almost zero tolerance.

Hi riya, I would say that the tasks which we prepare and submit are rejected is because task giver already copied our task and already started to use it in commercial purposes. So just do mylotting in here and never do tasks. They are real scam.

I have stopped getting tasks because I get rejected all the time. It's better for me to just participate in the discussions than aim for the rewards in the tasks. I am a Filipino and English is also not my first language. I know, a lot of people tell me that I speak good English, but when it comes to writing tasks, my English is never good enough.
I would love to visit Italy one day. I do have relatives living there and I have a long standing promise to visit. It's just that getting a visa out of my country requires so much hassle that the mere thought of getting one tires me.

Well, I have some difficulties to write a text entirely in English and mostly grammatically correct. This is due to the fact that I have studied English at school and therefore only basic level.

That is the reason also I never tried again participated to any TASK that required a fluent English. I was rejected twice and I think I will not do it for another try. I am a Filipino so we have different native languages used in our country. Although, we are good in English but because it's not our mother tongue our accents is obvious to those who speak English well.

I too am not a native English speaker but I have had excellent exposure that has enabled me to write and speak well. What I have noticed sadly is English is going down the drain as even native English speakers do not do justice to it, what with slang words and expressions used, with gay abandon!

Well, as I was reading your discussion, I find nothing that makes your discussion unnatural. For me, your kind of English is natural. Maybe this is because I am not a native speaker of English and so I probably could not see certain flaws that native speakers see in non-native English speakers. If this is the case, Mylot admin should have made specific instructions like the task is only for native speakers of English. It would be useless to put in so much effort in something that will later on be rejected.
