Hi. As an online teacher, I know that the atmosphere in the SPED class is so much different from my online class.
I will be studying SPED next school year. Some of the people around me said that why SPED? That's hard! Are you sure about that? Think thrice. And many more...
I know what I want and I know my own ability. I don't know what it feels like to be in a SPED class and handling Special children who need extra care, what I know is I want to help them and give them what I could give when it comes to education, love and care. :) I just have to focus and be patient.
How about you mylotters? What are your thoughts on a SPED teacher? Is this really a tough job?

any new things we do will always pose challenging situations for us. i heard about sped class. i know that you know more than i do. but you are right that the class requires patience and care from you. if you believe you have those things, then you can proceed with your plan of taking sped class. i heard it is in demand in the western world as there are few people wo are willing to do those things.

I have a few friends who are SPED teachers, and they admit that teaching special children is really challenging. You really need to have a lot of patience. (Well, teachers should have that regardless of who they're teaching). But one friend told me also that if the love and dedication towards this chosen career are absent, then you would really find it a tough job and that you should change profession.

It is a tough job, dealing with special children. You need to have tons of patience, since some of them have attention deficits.

That really is a tough job, but nothing is tough in life if you really want it. Special children are not easy to handle and a teacher must have a very good patience to teach these children. Not only patience but love and care for these children should also be felt by the teacher. Our country needs a lot of SPED teachers but there are only a few teaching. In my City alone, in one school, 60 students for a single teacher and I think this shouldn't be. I am a teacher myself but I don't think I am capable of teaching Special children. I salute you!
