Working and also using cell phone

Maybe your boss does not understand or are not familiar with what you can do using your phone. I remember that head of our office told her secretary to order an iPAD for him. My friend was kind of surprised because she knows that this boss don't even know what internet explorer is for. When she asked him how much storage space/capacity does he wants, he said that "You can choose for me. I think 1G is enough."

I was never treated like this ,using cell phone at work must be necessary these days.I think your boss hasn't understood new way with the lately made cell phone or he seldom use it.He feel insecure as if there are lots of things unknown..

Part of my job requires me to be on call at all times and the company actually provide me a phone for that use. But aside from that I also use my own personal phone. But I find that to be distracting and can peevent me from finishing my tasks so I try to avoid that now and have it at minimum.

Well in the office using cellphone is allowed at work as long as it wont take much of our attention and work. There are cases that I have to use my phone in answering clients and suppliers call and sometimes sending messages too. My boss understands it cause most of my supplier are calling through mobile phones. Welll there are some companies and bosses that are really strict in using cellphones while working so we better obey it cause its part of their rule or policy that we have to obey.

Well, I hate it when I go to a place and a worker is on their cell while taking care of customers. I feel its real rude of them. I went to market saturday. Was asking guy questions about the fish- and he was talking on cell phone. So I left. bet his boss wouldnt be happy that a customer walked because of this.

I use my Cell phone while I am working, but not too often though. My Boss is OK with his staff using the phone as long as we are not exaggerating. Maybe your Boss sees it as unprofessional while working you are using your cellphone. Maybe you should talk to him and ask him why he does not like it when you use your cellphone.

Most employers that I know of do not let you use your cell phone while on the clock. We had a girl last holiday who did that and she was eventually dismissed. You need to respect your employers wishes for you not to use it while you are on the clock even if some of it is work related.

I am allow to answer my cell phone but not to stay on it all day . I dont text my family while at work unless its emergency are I just want to tell my boyfriend I love him and how my day is going and even so I only do that when I have free time . Just have to do what make him more comfortable , he may not understand the technology age we in and if you are using your cell phone he may just think you are be idle . I think you should just do and used what your boss prefer to avoid any misunderstanding .

I think this is a case of 'not getting on with the times'. I think businesses should recognize that technology is becoming a big part of doing business with people. Although it is traditional to use a desktop and a landline, smartphones are pretty much equal to the task. Hopefully he's OK with this by now.

Yes I pick my phone if calling anyone even I am busy in any work even in office or in house. Because some time urgent call is also came.

hi, in my work,we are all so thankful because they allow us to use our cellphone during our duty,because i also experienced before in my first work that using cellphone is not allowed during our time,and we will only check it after 8 hours of our duty.

Your boss probably sees the cell phone as something personal to use, even though on an iphone you can do a lot of things work-related. Maybe he thinks it's rude to use at work when you're on his time and getting paid. If it bothers you then just let him know that you're using the phone for work and managing all of his social networking sites as well. I used to work at Victoria's Secret and we weren't even allowed to have our phones on us while we were at work. They thought that if we were in a certain room of the store that had no other associates in it, we could text friends to come steal from the store. I used to keep my phone on me anyways and I'd only use it if I got a text from my boyfriend. I also kept it on me because he's in the army and for a while I was never sure when I would hear from him so I kept my phone with me so I wouldn't miss anything. My new job hasn't mentioned any cell phone rules but I haven't kept it on me at all while at work.

probably he is thinking that your using your mobile phone for some personal matter than your work. Just make him understand that you are using your phone for business related. IN my office we have issued units for business purpose.

yes some people dont like it. Even my previous boss was like that, he never allowed me to talk or even text while in office. Its too irritating at times.

At my last job managers were supposed to keep their phones in their pockets, but other employees were not ever supposed to keep their phones in the building. He might just think that you are using it for personal reasons too much. If you are doing all sorts of stuff with it he might not realize how much is work related.

maybe there are misunderstanding between your boss and your.. You had explained to us, what`s benefit from your current cellphone.. you can manage many things related the jobs in office by your cellphone i can assume, your boss only think that you only send message from your cellphone now..It`s not wrong..So it`s your duty tell him that it`s not like his assumption.. Convince him..that`s your must do now...

...........? He is the boss and he makes the rules and you should obey or follow and logic comes crawling as everyone bring out logic on according to one's taste.... May be he is Android you should switch to GS 3

he might be mad because you are paying attention to your phone and not him, but if you are doing your job properly he should'nt get mad on it, and anyway you are a grown up lady you can do what ever you want
