Are you scared to the dark?

I hate dark areas,because it may cause danger or accidents,the fear of dark is something I try to overcome with the help of my maker.I am also frightened of tripping, and also of poisonous animals that lurk in the dark.Darkness brings in fear,when you are not sure when light will be available.

I could be afraid if I would be thinking of things that will scare me. But if I had to go to a room that is dark, I could do it. Some years back, I was having some issues with my husband. I didn't have restful sleeps at night so sometimes I just go do the laundry. Our washing machine was in front of the house that time and the water supply that I use for doing the laundry was connected to one of the vacant apartments in our compound. The apartment is filled with our old stuff and some stuff of my in laws. There was no light bulb in that place coz we didn't think it is of use anyway. So one night, I decided to just do the laundry so I wouldn't be thinking much. I realized that the hose was connected at the back of the apartment which was even darker. Oh well, I wanted to free my mind from bad things so might as well go on doing the laundry. I just made my way to the back of the apartment without a flashlight or a lighted candle and survived it!

I guess I am lucky as I am not afraid of the dark. I do know alot of people who are afraid of it.

hi, yes i am one of them, actually i hate to be in the dark place because i am really scared,and aside from that i have fear in dark because i feel that i am blind,that is why i always bring my phone when i need to pass in a very dark place to have some lights.

i am. i used to be scared of coming out at night, but have outgrown it. i still continue to wonder if a creature could be looking, ready to pounce, whenever i am walking in the dark.

No I'm not scared of the dark nor do I believe that anyone who closes their eyes are either. They are just overly scary and found something to blame it on albeit darkness, spiders or the color yellow. Their minds are overly obsessive and they can't shut it down themselves to shut it down. Something may have happen in their life that was a bad experience that they couldn't let go, I guess. But again the answer to your question is no. The dark should be scared of me.

I get scared of the dark when I can't see where I am going or when I am at somebodies home! I have tripped over and run into things like that! Not a good thing! I hate driving in the dark,if I am on the road more then an hour! I know my eye sight has changed over the years and driving in the dark scares me alittle! Like it did tonight when I was driving my car home from my neice's 2 yeart old birthday party!

I am afraid of the dark but I don't cry or freak out or even scream. My heart just beats fast and would want to go on an area with light. And also, I might be super wet with sweat.

No i am not scared of darkness, ghosts, spirits, but what scare me most are just 'dishonest, corrupted' politicians in my city; they can do any kind of damage to you, any moment

I am not afraid of the dark if I am at a place that is familiar to me like our house and workplace. In fact, I can walk in them without having to turn on a single light. I was told once by a colleague of mine how could I possibly walk in our comfort room without turning the lights on. It is not just I am lazy to do that but it is because I avoid touching anything in our CR as I believe they are dirty But if I happen to be in different place, I will never walk alone in the dark as I don't have any single idea what's there.

Nope. Not afraid of the dark at all. What I do not like about the dark is that it is hard to navigate through a house. It is quite annoying.

Actually people never be really afraid with darkness, they are just afraid with what that may hidden inside the darkness. And, no, I am not afraid of darkness and whatever that may hiding there, but a sudden darkness, such as because of power cut, can make me quite panicking sometimes..

Not scared but it kind of freaks me out sometimes. "I am on high alert, activate shield and arm laser missiles".

Not really, im more afraid when its silent. I always feel something bad is going to happen when i hear no noises.

I'm not scared of the dark, I'm scared of what's in it. I like scary movies and not the gory scary movies, those are stupid. I like ones that mess with your mind and make you think about things you know are not there. I'm not afraid of the dark but I've seen enough movies to know that flipping the light on real fast will cure any fears I have about it.

Yes! I'm really scared in the dark. I don't know why. But I really hate dark! Especially when there's a sudden black out. I really freaked out! :)

I live alone in my house .So I can't have fear of dark,Even if its dark,what would I do? Sometimes I would keep the lights on,during bedtime.But that was long ago..The electricity charge/unit has increased 3 fold..So I don't have a choice.Btw,its called Achluophobia.

I don't feel scared if it's dark inside the house.We, occasionally experience power outage especially during typhoon season in the months of May to early weeks of November. It's a completely different story if it is dark outside, I get really scared but I don't freak out.A lot of dangerous things can happen when out in a dark street or alley. Criminals and people with bad minds are all over the place these days. They can do their thing in a brood day light, what more if it's pitch dark.

Nyctophobia is severe fear of the darkness. This intense fear is triggered by the brain’s disfigured perception of what would or could happen when in a dark environment. Luckily, I don't fear darkness nor afraid to go into dark places. Most of this fear I believe stem during our childhood. Our olds used darkness to instill fear and make children behave during the night. Sadly, this fear are carried by some to their adulthood. Have a nice evening!

I am afraid of the dark, especially if i am alone. But i do not cry out loud, unless i was a sudden trip off. Some kind of eerie feelings do disturbs me when it is dark. I do not like dark areas because it is dangerous and unsafe. I prefer places with more lighting and brighter.
