I think one reason why music can be used for healing is because it relaxes the mind and body very effectively. I believe many people gets healed from minor or even major diseases when they try music therapy because music has the power to make us happy and bring good emotions, and when we are happy our body begins to heal fast.
How about you, how do you think music affects your health?

I agree with all that you said, MandaLee. I even remember the saying 'singing spiritual songs is like praying twice'.

Well, music therapy, I've only heard about it, but I was never explicitly explained if it benefits the health of body and mind.
I personally, with the problems I have, of a psychiatric nature (and this I have talked a lot in my discussion), it is not necessary.
However, I am agree with you on the sentence you wrote: because it relaxes the mind and body very effectively.
Maybe something truthful underneath there!

Yes, I could attest to it's relaxing effect on the mind and body.
I was also just recently been introduced to the idea that music can be a good source of healing, so I wrote this topic to see if many mylotters also experience some of these healing effects that music gives.

I have even read from a magazine that there was a hospital I cant exactly remember where, they are playing music to the patient for a quick recovery. I myself if Im feeling so exhausted and just want some relaxing moment then I will play some instrumental or nature sounds and it really helped.

First of all, I would never want to be hospitalized again because I had some bad memories of it when I was young when I got inflamed appendix.
Anyway, I highly praise that hospital you're talking about and I do hope all hospitals would be like that as it surely would lighten the hearts of all sick people there and would make their recovery faster, just as you said.
I also loved to play musical instruments before like piano and guitar which reminds me now how I want to buy one of those again in the future.

I could claim that for myself too, Shavkat. I remember I even tried to listen to music that are sort of 'mantras' that are usually used for meditation. Well, I guess it would be good to download those types of music again because I remember they were effective in making me feel very relaxed, especially when they were coupled with watching videos with beautiful nature.

Hi,
I definitely think that good music is therapeutic and has a way of calming up the disturbed mind and making us feel more at peace with our situation.
When you are so down emotionally, there is nothing which lifts you up as much as a cheerful song or your favourite record.
Many a war has been won by good music or so they say.

I do think so too. It's amazing how music can uplift our spirits and place us in a better mood. In the opposite, I believe a sad heart is a cause for a lot of different illnesses. There are even cases where people die of loneliness or depression.
So let's all listen to music and be happy and healthy

Well, I guess if the sould becomes fresh the body and mind will follow as well.
Anyway, when I hear the word 'fresh', I imagine youth and vital energy so I could say music could give vital energy of youthfulness for those in love with them
