Hi,This is really an interesting topic.Irrespective of whether faith healers actually help in healing or not, sometimes people go to them for a measure of temporary relief that they get from the process itself. If you look deep into faith, what it really does is to give us the strength to get us through the bad times.

Back when the Apostles walked the earth they were given the gift of healing and used it to help many people. This gift was given to them to prove that they had the authority to speak on God's behalf. After the Bible was completed we no longer needed such miracles since we could all read God's word for ourselves. People who claim to be able to heal by faith now are doing people a disservice. True, some people respond with some improvement but it doesn't last for any length of time.

No- I do not believed in them.
I have faith with my GOD let alone to save and cure me through prayers.
There are so many proofs about these faith healers and one of fraud faith healers came from my hometown Baguio City (shame)

I think faith healing is a combination of things. 1) Science (psychology) has shown that part of healing is in the mind. That's why prayer or meditation works in some cases. So it is the person's belief that helps him heal. 2) The faith healer strongly believes in what he is doing and psychs the person into believing that he is being healed. 3) Most of all, as another Mylotter has said, God is the One Who is really doing the healing. I do question the faith healer's works though because he can be helped through evil. Jim Jones of the Peoples Temple and David Koresh of the Branch Davidians healed people. And the AntiChrist (the Jewish Messiah who comes by way of Earth rather than the clouds) will also be a healer. So we need to keep an eye on those who supposedly heal people.

You have obviously given this a lot of thought Rob. Good job. Not many make the connection that evil can also appear good by doing good things. This should be obvious though because the Bible says that the devil often transforms himself into an angel of light so is it any wonder that his servants could transform themselves into workers of righteousness.

Thanks Savak03 and Shavkat. I once wrote and paper and was thinking about a book on the subject. Not only am I bothered by Koresh and Jones but also other smaller versions of antichrists who will appear. I know that these people were well meaning in acts. Jones had been a juvenile delinquent of sorts. When he started the church though, he was well meaning. In California he led efforts to feed the poor. I also see how easily people are taken in by what religious people say and who don't read their Bibles enough. So they are true lambs that can be lead to slaughter. I also think of my own experience. As a student in junior high school, I remember when a black church on the east side of town had a service. It wasn't our church, but we heard about these men who were coming to the church. We also heard they were healers who performed miracles. With doubts in our minds, my friends and I went to that church that night. In front of the podiums were two white men in white uniforms and they were putting their hands on the people's heads and making them pass out. This scared us and we left. I still haven't found out who they were but I do know that Jim Jones had traveled through the Midwest doing his healing.

I think if faith can't cure some illnesses, at least it can help to cure illnesses. If man lose faith, it certainly does no good for the curement of the illness, sometimes it worsen the illness. SO I agree with you very much, I also believe in faith healer.Nice day!

I think that if you believe that you can heal somebody you should ask the holy spirit to give you that gift. I believe that doctors are chosen by God to be healers, temporary healers at that though because only God has the power to heal completely.

I am skeptical about faith healers. I believe we all have abilities to heal ourselves and take care of our own cells by being positive and kind to our self and taking things easy by not exposing our selves so much to stress. Our own body itself has a complex healing mechanism.

The people that consults these faith healers are those that don't have money to pay the hospital bills and those that were already losing hope because even if they consult the doctors, they still don't see any positive results. I don't believe it them because I haven't been to one nor do I personally know someone who has asked a healing power of these faith healers. Maybe they are true because of those believers, maybe they are just all in the minds of those that has been to these healer. I can't be positive that they really cure because I strongly believe that only God can to these miracle and if they were real people chosen by God to cure, they should not take any money from people nor donation because God never did asked for any when he was healing the people.

I heard about such things but really cant believe it. The people who experienced i personally can better tell about that and the experiences.faith is good but blind faith is not at all acceptable. It doesn't cause any good.

I believe in Jesus. I believe my Heavenly Father can and do heal. I DO NOT believe any human being in human strength can heal so much as an ant. It takes the healing power of the Holy Spirit. I believe anything outside that is denying Christ and relying on the dark side. Does healing happen on the dark side? Sure, our God is still merciful, but the Bible says that on judgement day many will say they did this or that (including healing) in his name but he will reply "I never knew you"...ouch!
