Well, I will represent your exact antithesis. For me, whether I go to the supermarket hungry or satiated, and only buy only what I need, superb, I leave it lie on their shelves.
Unfortunately, we are in an economic family disaster, I can not afford to spend money. Then moreover, are also slightly overweight, which is why, if I eat something less, is better!

I'm sad to hear that. I hope you, too, get to enjoy grocery shopping as much as other people do. But, looking at the bright side, your cooperation leads to good health. You both take care!

Hi nrtan2ooo, first of all, welcome to myLot! =D Hope you are enjoying yourself here.
I definitely agree one hundred percent on your statement. We should never go grocery shopping when hungry. I face the same problem like you too. If i go grocery when i am hungry, i would buy anything i love eating. It was as if i could swallow up the whole lot once i get home. But that would surely lead me to regret for buying so much. LOL, so i would normally go do marketing after my meals, that would be more appropriate. Otherwise, i would remind and convince myself that i would never be able to finish them all if i insist to buy. Hehee..

Thanks joycseer for the warm welcome! I used to discuss here a few years back, but haven't really opened my account for quite some time. So, I guess they deactivated my account.lol
You remind me of the time when I went grocery shopping and I was so hungry that it turned out I bought 3-4 bags. When I reached the car and was about to go home, I grabbed a snack from the bag. I was still there at the parking lot when I finished off my snack. lol. I guess we're not alone with this dilemma. Sometimes I think it's not really a problem to go grocery shopping hungry, sometimes I do enjoy it, too.

I go to the super with a list and stick to it, so being hungry had no meaning as buying goes. I cannot afford to buy something I don`t need. Extras are usually twice expensive as the needed food.

Yeah. Getting more than what's on your list will just double up the cost. Sad to hear that you don't enjoy much of getting whatever you want in a grocery store. However, looking on the brighter side you've got some discipline there. :) I'm just lucky to be born in a place where almost all food are cheap. But then again, salary isn't as high either, so all is fair.

Gluttony. lol. You remind me of that word. We are all like that I guess. We tend to grab whatever we feel like eating without control and in the end we just can't finish them off.

we should always maintain the list or else we end up buying extra things which are not required and add extra budget.

So true. There are just times that I tend to spoil myself in a grocery store, especially when I get stressed or something. lol. But yes you are right there. Stick to the budget. =)

LOL. You are so right. You'll end up buying more than what's on your grocery list, right? Thanks for your share.

You have a lot of self-control in grocery shopping. In my part, there are times that when I get stressed up, I usually go to supermarkets. It always makes me feel good to just buy something good to eat.

Yes, never go hungry or else you will end up eating everything that your eyes can see (lols)
I always ask my kids to have some foods before we go out for grocery or shopping- because if they don't- we end up going to their fave eating place before doing our main purpose.

That's a long term lesson which I inherited from my mom. Though I can't avoid that at times when I need to buy the food stuff even I'm hungry. The result would be that I a lot of the food stuff compared to the nonfood supplies. That's is so costly that's why my wife and I do our best to eat at home before going to the grocery. Thanks

I guess all of us get to experience this one. It's so enjoyable, yet so costly that we need to control it. Eating at home before going to grocery is always a smart choice. :)

I tried to eat before going to the supermarket but actually when you go there with your stomach full, the food doesn't really look appetizing and I refuse to buy even the ones on my list. I think it's still good to eat first before shopping in order not to buy a lot of food.

Hi olivetree!
I haven't thought of that. You've got a point there! Yeah I guess when your stomach is full you think like you don't need some food in the grocery lists. Oh well, I guess you could save much by doing that. lol. Thanks for sharing!

Yes it happens to me all of the time. I was going to go shopping today, and ate a bowl of cereal because I didn't want to go hungry. It turns out I might have to wait until tomorrow, but I will make sure I eat first.

This is definitely true and I can attest to it! You tend to grab everything in sight and then afterwards, you'll realize that you can never consume all those food that you have bought. Such a waste of money and would surely leave you bloated.

Amen, sister!
You know what's worse is when you go to wholesale stores like Sam's or BJ's. In every aisle they have samples cooking of food and you splurge on those samples. Never, ever ever go to a grocery store hungry!

Funny thing is that sometimes being hungry is the real temptation that leads you to go grocery shopping! LOL. It just makes all the food look good and tasty. Then, later on you realize your cart is full already.

You almost bought a whole grocery store (haha) I have experienced that but in bread shop, I bought as many bread as I can and my boyfriend scold me. So now, he don't trust me with the grocery list.

Haha. I remember one thing I've read about the difference of men and women in buying something. Men know what they want/need and they go buy it directly. Unlike us, women. We stroll and tend to look at other things that interest us. In short, we always end up buying a lot of unnecessary things and sometimes we even forget what we really need to buy in the first place.
