British Made Cuddle Chair - Sweet! - Would Love A British Made Cuddle Chair

You know me..I have spells of liking certain things such as furniture and watnot. My latest fad are Love Seats and I've attached a photograph if you're not familiar with them as they've become more popular, especially this year I would say. There are loads of them in our local furniture store, Vaseys, for example. The reason I like them is the shape more than anything. We're so used to chairs that are square and look so bulky but when they're rounded off like the Cuddle Chair they give the illusion of not taking up as much space..but they probably do. Whenever I see one I ALWAYS giggle like a loon and have to swivel round in it, although that is an option in some cases as I can imagine children having way too much fun than they should do..and adults too of course! When I get a job I shall donate our leather suite to a Housing Association (NOT Impact Housing, but Riverside) and buy a corded Love Seat with a smaller sofa. I cannot wait for that day to come..and it will..one day.

Those were brilliant indeed! So do I, my eyes are glued to good stuff whenever we passed on furniture stores at the mall. I can't help but look at those and wish I have the money to buy them and the space to put it.

Mum reckons it might depress me if I keep looking at things I cannot afford but it actually has the opposite effect. Because I know what I want in advance of finding that elusive job, it will be easier, not harder for me to buy things with my newly-found wealth..when it happens!

hahaha. Mom's always discourages their children to spend a lot n things they thought unworthy but to us we thought it's the most worthy thing in the whole world. hahaha. God bless!

I have a chair actually that is the size of a regular love seat. The chair can fit two people on it. And it is big. And so is the sofa. That little chair in the picture is great for small spaces. And I am sure it does not take up that much space given the fact the it is round. And being round, it can go almost anywhere.

We have the smallest (new) houses in Europe so far as space is concerned..unlike the old days where a garden was a MUST! This might explain why our seats are miles smaller than they - perhaps - should be.

In a way we are lucky as we have a storage area (albeit small) underneath the stairs, another one in the bathroom that houses the water tank..and another one on the landing, all of which have doors on them so we can hide stuff! I believe 'new builds' as they are called are extremely limited in storage solutions and I just couldn't live in one, to be honest. The windows are like those little Lego versions, do you know what I mean? I wouldn't say 'no' to more storage though..furniture with drawers and a sliderobe for clothes would be nice. John has inherited his bedroom furniture from his parents (who else lol) and it's not fit for purpose...although it is better than nothing..I suppose!

My apartment is not that big. But when I bought the set, I thought that the chair really was a love seat. It might as well be one as far as I am concerned. Things are changing all over. And space is always a problem. I know for me, closet space in extremely small. I need to buy one of those wardrobes for my stuff.

Well, I reckon they're designed for a person to cuddle up with a cat. Two people is pushing it a bit, unless they're like sticks..that'll work!

The cuddle chairs are definitely quite a bit smaller than love seats in the States; it seems like they are generally referred to as simply two-seater sofas (if Amazon is any indication) on that side of the Atlantic. I must say that the cuddle chairs are cute. Ooh... and while I was looking at one of the cuddle chairs, a love seat daybed sofa with canopy popped up on Amazon. Hmm... I think I've found something else for my wishlist...

I love Daybeds, they've come a long way haven't they? I like the fact young girls have them in their bedrooms so they can invite their friends round for a chat in relaxing surroundings. You really must post a link to one. I've seen them with metalwork along the back, so they look like a posh settee that can be converted into a bed..something like that. I've been too engrossed in Love Seats so I'm a bit naive as to what Daybeds actually look like!

The ones I'm looking at are classified as garden furniture--quite different than the one I had in my bedroom as a teen. The one that got me intrigued was: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rattan-Garden-Furniture-Daybed-Canopy/dp/B007FQEYBI/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_6 , but the one that I found after following that link (and that I really like) is http://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Weather-Garden-Furniture-Venice-Outdoor/dp/B0058IEQN6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1UI8PB73KG8EB&coliid=I3OG8ZDNW3BNO6

The cuddle seat looks funny! However,I don't think it is suitable for summer time.

Yes, I know what you mean. Mind you, we never seem to have a proper summer anymore so the UK is exempt lol.

Hi Janey. Well even I dont like these traditional chairs. That is one of the reason why I bought a beanbag in my hostel room though I already had a chair. And the ones you showed are quite good. But when I will have a home of my own I would prefer to buy seats like those in F.R.I.E.N.D.S instead. They look very comforting. Anyways have a nice day ... =SuperShames=

To be honest, I don't think I've EVER watched Friends. I must be the only person in the world NOT to. Put it this way, if anyone ever bought me the box-set it would be like watching something brand new.

Hi Janey. Well I dont know if FRIENDS would be still appealing at this time. But you sure have missed something very wonderful... Though I do not have very much fascination towards tv series but since I grew up watching it, I feel as if it was part of my life... Anyways have a nice day ...

Okay, I had to look up a cuddle chair, and I can't say I've really figured out what the deal is (I even found a squarish one.) However, they look smaller than a "love seat" which over here in the states are small, generally 2 person, couches. Not real good for napping on.

Yes, there are different versions, I agree. The ones I like are large chairs for one person really and they're designed for relaxing on. You'd be hard-pressed to fit me and John on one though as he's way taller than me..but I could cuddle up with Flojo quite easily..and swivel round if I wanted..not sure she'd like that though! The first ones I saw were in our local furniture store, Vaseys and I kept sitting on them and whizzing round like a big kid. I like furniture that has that effect on me. The leather in our house is lovely but the three-seater settee, in particular takes up so much room along the wall. A Love Seat to the left of the fireplace (where our leather recliner is) would look ace along with a matching 2-seater, as opposed to a 3-seater we have now. That would free up space for some storage solutions! Roll on 2013, the year has a good ring to it!

lol! That could become an expensive hobby . I just like buying all kinds of things.I recently added a new couch, coffee table, and dining set to my Amazon wish list. There really are so many neat household items that would make our home look so nice.

I wish my list was in my head. Then I would probably have less things I wanted to buy. My wishlist on Amazon has got to be close to twenty pages. I love going back and seeing all the things I have added on there.

I know the idea of these 'love seats' is that they are space saving and meant for two people, but with the number of big fat arses in this country I expect some might struggle to get one person in. Squashed in seat is probably more appropriate.

You're right..I don't think they're ever going to be used as Love Seats and you can't outstretch your legs on them unless you buy a half moon footstool, apparently. Yet more expense!

Leather furniture is great but I prefer leather clothing. It can be as expensive as furniture, believe me(if made by good designer and is of perfect quality).Currently ,I am planning to get myself boots on low heel and big bag

Nice! I have a biker-style leather jacket that I've had about 5 years and it looks better the more times I wear it. I've had compliments on it too from people younger than me, so I guess I must be doing something right. Welcome to MyLot by the way.

I am learning something from here , cuddle chair can maximize space and it looks more elegant but just expensive. I guess they are easy to clean . You give me an idea , planning to buy a long sofa that occupies big space , better turn off from plan and better to have that kind you're sharing us. In our place , not that expensive. Hope you can have that , one of these days.

Yes, it's all about saving space. It's awkward though because hubby is over 6ft and I'm only 5ft 4ins so accommodating us both in a small area is tough at times. I shall manage it though..one day.

They sound like they are comfortable. Im not much into buying furniture. Mainly because we dont have the money and two the kids. What we do have was all given to us. Now that my hubsand and I are back to work we are saving to buy new/used furniture that is matching and a better couch. Im thankful for what we have but nothing matches and are couch is falling apart. I made covers for the couch and both of the recliners to make them look better. I can't wait till we can get better furniture.

You sound very determined in your savings though and good luck with it. I am sure you will succeed. I know what you mean about 'inherited' furniture. When John moved in here on his own in the late 90s he didn't buy anything other than a bookcase. The two run-down sofas he had were replaced once I came along as I just couldn't sit in them without my bum hitting the floor, they were so worn. This is why I can't mention new suites to him as the present one cost him a lot of money. But, once I get a job I can please myself. It won't matter so much about cost then.

I have never heard of them before and I wonder why 'cuddle seats' are they big enough for two to cuddle on or are the seats so comfy that it feels as though they are cuddling the person sitting on them? Either way I love comfortable chairs that don't take up half the room, that swivel when I want them to and that I can relax and take a little shut eye in. I shall look out for them, meantime I hope you soon get a job and make your dream of comfort come true.
