Coconut Oil Is Helping me I Think

I think this coconut oil is helping me control my food intake somewhat. I had bought two large jars of it from Amazon, the best kind there is I guess. It is not that overly expensive via them like it is in the stores here but it does get used up quite fast so I have to be careful not to use it alot. I want it to help my autoammune system and also my thyroid which I have had a big problem with and which might have caused the huge cyst I had to get removed from my body last July too. I wish it would go a longer way, the oil. It is tasteless, doesn't taste like the coconut in this form. Do you ever use it in cooking? I even put it in my banana bread I made and the cookies the other day.

I love, love coconut oil and I have been out for awhile. I love the taste of coconut oil and I only buy the extra virgin organic coconut oil. I have to get to the health food store to buy some more. I was going to pick some up while I was at Walmart, but the health food store is actually $1 cheaper. I love the taste and all teh health benefits. I also like to use it on my skin, in my shakes, with my popcorn and with my eggs. I use at least 3 tbs a day when I have it on hand.

That probably is a virgin coconut oil. We have a lot of it in the Philippines, being a tropical country. I'm glad to hear that it's helping you a lot. Yes, I read also that virgin coconut oil has a lot of health benefits that is why it became popular. I don't think though that it is being used for cooking such as frying. Virgin coconut oil is taken raw as is, or could be used as salad dressing.

you are right virgin coconut oil needs to be taken raw as while frying it looses its benefits.

Hi NailTech, hope the coconut would do good to your health. Before palm oil becomes popular here coconut oil is the only economic cooking oil here. When palm oil is available in the market most of the people replace the former for it gave a bit of indecent smell in the food prepared. Nowadays seldom people use coconut oil although its price is rather low compared to palm oil. Palm is odorless but it smells aromatic after peanut oil added to it. I love the smell of the homemade coconut oil. We get the oil by stir frying the fine kennel mice slowly on mild fire We are told pure coconut oil would help to lower cholesterol and good to the heart as well Happy posting

I had just gotten some coconut oil and it smelled just horrible when it was heated in the pan. I don't know if its suppose to smell like that. I'll stick to my olive and sesame seed oils.

Coconut oil is good with our body. I remember when I had my vacation with our grannies at their province. She used to extract the coconut milk and fried it until such time that it will make a coconut oil. They used it for frying ham, fishes and use in cooking dishes. Those dishes used by cooking oil was very delicious. They used also that coconut oil in skin when wind burn season.

Is that how it is made? From coconut milk and then fired? Interesting to know. I have heard it is a long process. I would love to make it but after hearing how it's made I'm not so sure I wanna do it. Yes, it can be used for the skin also, that would be another thing to use it for and hair too. I have eczema on my hands and such at times and it would benefit from the use of it on the skin.

I just read about coconut oil and was amazed at what a wide range of things it helps with. Immune, digestion, weight loss, hair, etc. I don't use it but I am thinking of starting. It sounds like something to add to a healthy diet. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Hi, I've heard a lot of good stories about virgin coconut oil but I am more familiar with the one traditionally prepared. First we go to the coconut grove at the back of our house, take the mature fruits, grate them, extract the milk and let it simmer over a slow fire until the oil is separated. New way of getting it is to let the milk stand overnight and skim off the separated oil from the milk. We call the coconut a miracle tree here. Almost everything in its tree is useful, its oil being one of them.

I haven't tried having coconut oil as a form of my own intake in foods. I have some friends take olive oils. But I am sure I can not do it.

Coconut is a very useful plant. You can use its every part. One importance of it is its oil.In my country, virgin coconut oil is very popular. And we have plenty of coconut trees here.University of the Philippines have their own processing plant for their virgin coconut oil. When I was in college we were tour around there and all we can smell is the soothing aroma of the coconut. keep using it NailTech and you will know how wonderful it is.Use it too instead of lotion or powder when you want a massage. It is sticky but it soothes on your skin.
