On Dr. Phil there was an episode with a 4 year old still being breast fed! To me, yes breast feeding is great it has many advantages... BUT 4 years old seems way too old to me for breastfeeding! Your thoughts...

I see my previous response got deleted for being irrelevant, and yet some others appear to be of a similar ilk.....*rubs chin* Sorry if I offended you, LMB, it was not my intention.

Well I don't care who doesn't think your funny, I do! This was my discussion, how can they just go and delete something they don't like? Don't keep your thoughts to yourself, I want to hear them! Don't worry about anyone else!!

I usually no longer produce my own milk after 3-4 months of giving birth. And I think that is fine coz there are infant formulas that can provide them the nutrition that they need. I mean, even though I would love to continue feeding that way, I could not do anything about it. Most especially at 6 months, where kids usually start to have their first front teeth. That could be painful! Ouch! With 4 years old kids? That is way too old.

That's true! Imagine how much pain you wold have to deal with it! I remember my youngest son who was by birth really has the appetite. He wasn't even 3 months old that time, but he practically almost chewed the tip of my n******. It got sore and bruised! And he wasn't even teething yet that time! OUCH!!!!

In my own opinion, 4 years old is already old enough, but there are really mother who are doing that. I think it should be stopped for it will make the baby too dependent to the mom, or I'm not an expert but I'm just thinking about the nutrition the baby can get since he's already old.

I think once the child has teeth... for the mother's own sake they are too old. :|

My lights are that no one has the right to dictate how long a nursing relationship between a mother and child lasts except for that mother and child.
